Julia Roberts' RomCom Sequel in the Works 30 Years After First Movie
Julia Roberts' RomCom Sequel in the Works 30 Years After First Movie originally appeared on Parade. Julia Roberts' beloved 1997 romantic comedy My Best Friend's Wedding is reportedly in the works nearly 30 years after the film's debut. Celine Song will pen the project for Sony Pictures, according to Variety and The Wrap. However, no director is officially on board yet. Song, 36, is best known for writing and directing the 2023 film Past Lives and the 2025 film Materialists. The original film followed Julianne Porter (Roberts) as she attended her best friend Michael O'Neal's (Dermot Mulroney) wedding to Kimberly Wallace (Cameron Diaz). Throughout the course of the movie, Julianne sets out to have Michael cancel the wedding due to her feelings for him. The movie also starred Rupert Everett, Carrie Preston and the late Philip Bosco. The sequel's plot and cast have not yet been announced. However, Mulroney, 61, recently told the New York Post that "there is talk of a sequel" in an interview published on July 25. 'I know nothing about it. Last I heard, quote, lawyers were talking, unquote,' he added at the time. While recalling his experience on the original film, Mulroney said that the "whole thing was a dream." 'I knew – and all of Hollywood knew – it was going to be an exceptional movie.' After he pointed out that he has had a 'lasting friendship with Julia," the Family Stone actor said that he also had a 'credible connection with Rupert, Cameron and [Hogan] on the filming.' 'You can do a really tragic dramatic movie and still have tons of fun,' he continued. 'But I'll never forget those days in Chicago on that [movie].' Mulroney has since returned to Chicago to film the NBC series Chicago Fire and said that the memories from the film have kept "coming back to me." He concluded, "It has been a big part of my life.' Seth Meyers worries for the future of his late night show because of ever-changing TV ‘ecosystem'
People in entertainment TV shows Donald TrumpFacebookTweetLink Follow When it comes to late-night television, Seth Meyers knows the future is largely out of your control. Meyers, who has hosted 'Late Night' on NBC for over a decade, spoke on this week's episode of the 'Armchair Expert' podcast about dealing with the uncertainty that comes with hosting a program. 'There is this weird thing that I feel like I shifted from fearing that I wouldn't be good enough and now my fear is weirdly more outside of my control, which is (that) just at some point the ecosystem might not support it,' Meyers told hosts Dax Shepard and Monica Padman. 'I guess that's better than thinking it's your fault, but it is weird to not feel any control over it.' Meyers said his big takeaway from his experience on the late-night program is just to 'show up and do the work.' 'That's the only part they're paying you to do, that's the only part you're good at,' he said. Meyers acknowledged that while the TV business has evolved since his show debuted, he's grateful that 'at least I got in.' 'The world knows Seth Meyers in a way that I'm happy with. I've taken my opportunity to build a thing,' he said. 'I know what it means and I think other people know what it means. So I'm happy about that.' Meyers did not address the recent cancellation of 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' during the podcast, but it is not clear if the conversation was recorded prior to the news. CNN has reached out to a representative for Shepard for comment. In a Story posted to Instagram after Colbert's show was cancelled, Meyers called him a 'great' comedian and host and 'an even better person.' 'I'm going to miss having him on TV every night. but I'm excited he can no longer use the excuse that he's 'too busy to hang out' with me,' he wrote. Earlier this month, CBS announced the network was cancelling 'The Late Show' citing financial reasons but the move drew much criticism and speculation. Colbert has long been an outspoken critic of Trump and has been making jokes about CBS's motives for axing his show since it happened. The show's cancellation came weeks after CBS's parent company Paramount entered into a $16 million settlement agreement with President Donald Trump to resolve Trump's lawsuit against '60 Minutes.' And just last week, Skydance Media's $8 billion acquisition of Paramount received approval from federal regulators. On Tuesday, Trump denied that he was 'solely responsible for the firing' of Colbert, writing on Truth Social, 'The reason he was fired was a pure lack of TALENT, and the fact that this deficiency was costing CBS $50 Million Dollars a year in losses — And it was only going to get WORSE.' CNN has reached out to CBS for comment. 'The Late Show' has been on the air since 1993 when David Letterman served as host before Colbert took over in 2015, will end in the spring of 2026.

Mikayla Nogueira Clarifies If 60-Lb. Weight Loss Was Done "Naturally"
Originally appeared on E! Online Mikayla Nogueira is setting the record straight. After she unveiled her 60-pound weight loss transformation, the TikToker clarified the method she used to accomplish the goal, insisting that she went about it "naturally" amid speculation she used weight loss drugs. "Heavy emphasis on the 'naturally,'" Mikayla said in a July 29 TikTok video, explaining that she focused on incorporating "a calorie deficit" diet into her routine and "making better food choices." And to help others incorporate similar techniques into their lifestyles, the 27-year-old provided a detailed look at how to cook up one of her go-to meals that's helped on her weight loss journey. "If you haven't figure it out already, these are burger bowls," Mikayla said atop a clip of her plating meat, cheese and vegetable ingredients for her favorite recipe. "Lettuce, tomato, croutons, pickles, hamburger, ketchup, mustard—they're extremely delicious and filling." And the content creator noted that she's not the only one in her family who's a big fan of the healthy dish, adding that her husband Cody Hawken "loves them too." More from E! After all, the influencer shared that she's also made adjustments to her fashion choices and even had to stop wearing her wedding rings as a result of the major physical transformation. "The reason is this s--t doesn't fit me," she told her followers in a Jan. 28 TikTok while demonstrating how big the bands were for her finger. "Because I lost 60 pounds, this ring is now humungous on me, and I either need to get it resized or a new ring perhaps, because it's too big." Luckily, Mikayla has other ways to symbolize her commitment to Cody, who she tied the knot with in 2023. "I have a 'C' tattooed on my finger," she shared, though she admitted that the design was "not good." "I need to get that fixed and I will," she continued. "But, yeah, if I wear this, it'll fall off and I'll lose it, so that it literally the tea." For more stars who have debuted major weight loss transformations, keep reading.
