Image: Facebook
DJ Zinhle took to her social media to announce her latest collaboration with "Big Brother Mzansi: Umlilo" season 5 winner, Akhonamathemba "Sweet Guluva" Zwane. The highly anticipated song 'Sweet Guluva' is set to drop on June 6 and features vocal powerhouse Nokwazi, Ndloh and Sweet Guluva himself.
According to Zinhle, the collaboration was sparked by her admiration for Sweet Guluva and a trip down memory lane. The businesswoman and DJ previously shared that she went to school with his mother, Bongiwe Zwane.
She mentioned in a TikTok video that she spoke to the reality show winner's mother to discuss how she could support the rising star, and the idea of collaborating on a song emerged.
The song, which is already ready for release, is expected to be a huge hit.
Zinhle's expertise in crafting catchy yet meaningful songs and Sweet Guluva's charisma as well as following, are a winning combination.
But what is even more intriguing is the song's lyrics, which celebrate Sweet Guluva's journey as the 'Big Brother Mzansi' winner.

Sweet Guluva's time in the 'Big Brother Mzansi' house was nothing short of phenomenal.
He stole many hearts with his charming personality. When he was announced as the winner, thousands of fans, young and old, from all walks of life celebrated.
Sweet Guluva is a proud, easily likeable Zulu man. His charm and charisma have made him one of the most beloved contestants in the history of 'Big Brother Mzansi'.
The song's lyrics, which are sung in isiZulu, reflect this, describing him as someone who makes the whole world go wild.
'Umuntu onjani lona? Uhlanyisa umhlaba wonke madoda'
The lyrics ask, 'What type of person is this, who captured the hearts of so many?' A nod to how he won over the nation with his personality during his time in the 'Big Brother' house.
After walking away with the R2 million grand prize, Sweet Guluva opened up about his aspirations in an interview with 'Independent Media Lifestyle'
He shared that he wants to delve into every facet of media, and music was one of them, so this collaboration comes as no surprise.

However, not everyone is thrilled about the collaboration, particularly the chorus. Some fans have taken to social media to express their scepticism about the partnership, responding to Zinhle's post with mixed reactions.

Next Stay Close ✕ The track, 'Spoonky', appears as track seven on Shekhinah's surprise album 'Less Trouble', which marks the end of her four-year album hiatus. On this project, Shekhinah delves deeper into her emotions, presenting her renewed clarity and unapologetic approach to her romantic needs. Despite the personal depth of the album, 'Less Trouble" is far from sombre. Shekhinah layers her signature vocal style with elements of pop, dance and Afrobeats, crafting a vibrant, melodic journey that signals a shift from dwelling on worries to embracing life on her own terms. The collaboration with Stunna adds an extra layer of energy and excitement to the project, bridging their respective musical styles seamlessly. For Stunna, the feature also comes as he prepares for the next chapter of his own career. He is set to release his second album, 'Busisiwe', following his debut project 'Notumato', which dropped in 2021. First announced in 2023 with lead single 'uNonkosi', the album has been highly anticipated, but Stunna has emphasised that he's taking his time to perfect it. ''Busisiwe' - it is just me saying thank you. 'Notumato' was just the beginning, okay, I am introducing myself. And then Pops said the second album doesn't have to be a pressure, I just want you to lead me." "He said we're going to take our time with this,' he explained to "SlikourOnLife", highlighting his commitment to delivering a project that truly reflects his artistry. While fans eagerly await the official release date of 'Busisiwe', one thing is certain: Stunna continues to prove that dedication, talent and staying true to one's dreams will always resonate in the music scene.

Roses are red, violets are blue, happy birthday to you." Video Player is loading. ‘It's not like before': DJ Maphorisa opens up about the changing Amapiano scene
DJ Maphorisa provides unfiltered insight into the realities of the Amapiano scene. Image: DJ Maphorisa/Facebook Viral hits and sold-out shows have made Amapiano's glitz and glamour a social media staple. Yet, beneath the surface, lies an intensely competitive world that few truly understand. In a candid revelation, DJ Maphorisa has slightly pulled back the curtain on the industry, offering a raw and unfiltered look at the realities of the Amapiano scene. During his recent interview with Metro FM's Tbo Touch, the music heavyweight opened up about how the dynamics in the industry have shifted dramatically over the past few years. 'It's tough now, it's not easy - it's not like before,' Maphorisa admitted. Touch immediately responded, 'Wait, wait, wait. I'm getting a headache. If I'm an upcoming artist listening to this conversation and the biggest artist says it's tough, I'm going to give up. How is it tough, Phorry?' Maphorisa didn't shy away. 'There's too much competition. People have short attention spans. They may love one song from you and stick with that for about six months. But if you release 10 hot songs, not all of them will get the reception you expect.' He went on to explain how this shift affects the way artists release and market their music. The emotional and creative toll is significant when audiences only latch onto one hit from an entire album. Using his latest project as an example, Maphorisa shared, 'I dropped an album called 'Ngomoya'. So far, I've released 28 songs, but they only really like one.' Maphorisa's candour comes ahead of the highly anticipated 'Scorpion Kings Live with Friends' set to take place at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Friday, August 29. The event is expected to draw fans from across the country, underscoring the duo's status as Amapiano royalty. Amapiano itself has experienced meteoric growth since emerging in the townships of Gauteng in the early 2010s. Initially an underground movement, it has since become a global phenomenon, dominating charts, festivals and playlists worldwide. Artists like Maphorisa and Kabza De Small have played a central role in shaping the genre, blending deep house, jazz and kwaito to create a uniquely South African sound that resonates far beyond the country's borders. Yet with its rise comes gatekeeping and challenges within the industry. As Amapiano becomes more mainstream, the competition intensifies and staying relevant requires not just talent but strategic releases, collaborations and constant engagement with a fickle audience.
