And the OBE shared his excitement by saying: "The US Open Pool Championship last year was the greatest experience of my life, even though I lost my first match 9-1.
"I thought that would be the end of my Nineball career, but I got addicted, and what I thought would be a one-off has turned into a return—I'm back for the UK Open this May!"
"No pressure, no excuses. This year, I'm not just aiming to win a match—I'm here to play better than you (Goldstein)!'
Meanwhile, Goldstein said that his goal isn't to just win a match but he is determined to break into the world rankings.
Unfortunately, the pair won't be playing each other just yet, but SunSport can reveal who their first UK Open Pool Championship 2025 encounters will be against.
Who is Barry Hearn playing at the UK Open Pool Championship 2025?
Barry Hearn faces a tough test against Danish icon Mickey Krause in the first round.
The Viking won the 2024 European Open when he defeated Johann Chua 13-8 in the final.

Incredible rise of Luke Littler from £2m winnings, record world title and MBE – one of seven darts stars to get honour
FROM Alexandra Palace to the Royal Palaces, what an extraordinary ride it has been for Luke Littler. Two years ago, he was just a normal, kebab-eating kid from Warrington who dreamt of one day making money from darts. 5 5 What has happened since is one of the most sensational stories in British sport. A shock World Championship final run in 2024, turning pro, taking the oche by storm, global popularity, the 2025 world title at just 17 and more than £2million in prize money and sponsorship. Littler has even had novelty kebabs named in his honour. And now he will go, by royal appointment, to collect an MBE as part of the King's Birthday Honours list. It is not often Littler swaps his darts shirts for a suit but, at 18 years old, he is one of the youngest people to be bestowed a gong by the Royal Family. Littler's ranking rival and England World Cup team-mate Luke Humphries, 30, is also set to receive an MBE. They are two of only seven darts stars to have been acknowledged for their exploits. The late Eric Bristow, John Lowe, Trina Gulliver, Fallon Sherrock and Keith Deller are the other tungsten members of the British Empire. Sixteen-time world champ Phil Taylor had been set to receive an MBE in 2001. But his nomination was annulled after a controversial court case saw him found guilty of assaulting two female fans in the back of his camper van and fined £2,000. Luke Littler reveals he's signed up to HUGE reality show alongside YouTuber mate 5 5 5 Barry Hearn, the promotion mastermind behind darts' global rise, got an MBE in December 2021 and pins it to his cricket bat when he plays for Essex over-70s. Honours committees have tended to be snobbish towards working-class sports like darts and snooker. But with Littler's five major titles, added to eight for Humphries — and two PDC world crowns between them — there is no denying their incredible impact. Particularly Littler. Grown men wear his shirts, emblazoned with his nickname The Nuke, while magnetic dartboards with his face on them sold out. As an amateur, he reached the Ally Pally world final — aged 16 — losing to world No 1 Humphries. Littler's rookie season was one of sport's most incredible debut years, seeing him voted second behind Olympic 800 metres champion Keely Hodgkinson in BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Littler has been a credit to the sport, constantly polite and co-operative with the press, the PDC and their sponsors. This kid from humble stock — his dad was a taxi driver, his mum worked in a Yankee Candle shop — now joins the establishment. Sir Luke Littler? That really does hit the bullseye.

St Mirren consider swoop for keeper who played for Premiership rivals last season to be their new No1
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ST MIRREN are considering a swoop for Swansea City keeper Andy Fisher. The Buddies were hoping to persuade Middlesborough shot-stopper Zach Hemming to return to Paisley on a permanent deal after two successful loan stints. Now the Saints have had to turn to a list of other potential new number one targets. And SunSport understands Fisher, who spent the second half of last season on loan with relegated St Johnstone, is high on their wishlist. The 27-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at Blackburn Rovers, joined new Rangers boss Russell Martin at Swansea on a four-year deal from MK Dons back in January 2022. With just six months now left on his contract, St Mirren are hoping they can persuade the English goalie, who made 18 appearances in Perth, to make an immediate switch to the Paisley club. The Buddies are also confident they will be able to announce the signing of Richard King in the near future. The Jamaican international has been busy representing his country in crucial World Cup qualifiers against Guatemala and the British Virgin Islands. While the 23-year-old still has three Concacaf Gold Cup group stage matches to tackle later this month, Saints don't foresee any issues with getting international clearance for the highly-rated Cavalier stopper once those games are completed. King will help to fill the gap left by Richard Taylor, who let his contract run down at the end of the season. The 24-year-old defender remains in the hunt for a new club. St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson on being wanted by Alex Ferguson & Graeme Souness and having a BOMB under his car Elsewhere, Premiership champions Celtic have been granted permission to open talks with top transfer target Benjamin Nygren. SunSport revealed earlier this week that the £2million Nordsjaelland attacker was on Brendan Rodgers' wishlist. The Hoops have now made a move but face some stiff competition in the race for the 23-year-old's signature from clubs in the Bundesliga and MLS. The pair are playing for England in Soccer Aid, and Sam was never too far from Louis on the pitch. But then things got awkward when the former Made In Chelsea star was also hanging out behind Louis as he gave a radio interview to talkSport. Louis said playing in Soccer Aid was an "an incredible opportunity to play with some amazing players and do it all for an amazing cause." soccer aid STAR OUT Soccer Aid star forced to pull out of the match at the last minute due to injury He also admitted that despite his years playing live concerts in front of millions of people during his years in One Direction and playing at other football charity games, he was still nervous for today's match. "I used to play in charity games a little bit more often when I was a bit younger and there's no comparison," he began. "Don't get me wrong I get really nervous doing a gig but that's my job, so to speak, but every football fan... you want to be decent, so you put that pressure on yourself." While chatting to the radio hosts, Sam could be seen behind Louis smiling and laughing on the pitch. While Sam might not have realised he was in the shot behind Louis' interview, the pair did have a jovial exchange the day before while training. Sam, 32, was spotted smiling as he looked over at Louis, 33, as they got to work on the pitch. Pete Wicks takes massive swipe at Sam Thompson's ex Zara McDermott amid Love Island star's romance with Louis Tomlinson Standing close by, the lads appeared to share a few words as they donned their kit for the first time. The pair are both on the same England team and were in good spirits as they arrived at Old Trafford in Manchester. Louis, who has been dating Zara since April, had a huge grin on his face as he made his way to the football ground. Last month, Sam was left squirming as he was grilled about playing football with Louis by his best mate, Pete Wicks. Speaking on their podcast Staying Relevant, Pete said: "How are you feeling? You're playing again. Must be really exciting.' He then added with a grin: 'How do you feel about the line-up? Do you think you've got a strong team?' Sam awkwardly laughed and replied: 'Got a really strong team.' Last week, Sam - who split with Zara after five years in December - completed a gruelling 260-mile endurance challenge for Soccer Aid. He ran and cycled from Stamford Bridge in London to Old Trafford to deliver the Soccer Aid football. Despite his obvious heartbreak over his split with former Love Island star Zara, Sam has reportedly said there are "no hard feelings" between him and singer Louis.
