La Perle, Dubai's first permanent show, is bringing a unique Ramadan experience with its 'Iftar & Show' event. Guests will enjoy a lavish Iftar buffet at Le Patio, Habtoor Palace, before witnessing the spectacular performance at La Perle's aqua theatre in Al Habtoor City.
Created by the late Franco Dragone, a visionary director known for his work with Cirque du Soleil and The House of Dancing Water, La Perle is an aerial and aquatic spectacle performed by 65 world-class artists. The show merges acrobatics, special effects and immersive storytelling, drawing inspiration from Dubai's culture, past and future.
Staged in a 1,300-seat custom-built theatre with a unique aqua-stage, the performance unfolds in a setting designed by Jean Rabasse, offering a 270-degree viewing experience with just 14 rows to ensure an intimate atmosphere.
Tickets for the Ramadan event start at AED 454, with two showtimes available. Guests attending the 6:30 PM performance will have dinner at 8:00 PM, while those opting for the 9:00 PM show will dine at 7:00 PM.
The Iftar buffet at Le Patio will feature an assortment of Middle Eastern dishes, including mezze, main courses, and desserts. VIP and Platinum ticket holders will have access to valet service and an exclusive lounge before the show. Additional dining options are also available at select Al Habtoor City restaurants, where a set three-course meal can be paired with the performance.

Thawra, Ebaa Monther & Noise Diva Call Out Media Bias on ‘3antar'
The holy trinity presents a compelling satire on the media's censorship and ignorance of the war in Syria. Jun 03, 2025 Syrian trailblazing rappers Thawra and Ebaa Monther join forces on a collaborative single, titled '3antar', a subversive socio-political observation of the media echo chamber, specifically criticising its handling of the war in Syria. The track's production is helmed by Amsterdam-based Syrian DJ and sound designer Noise Diva, who crafts a dark, hypnotic blend of trap and raw noise textures bubbling with tension and low intensity, subtly accented by Middle Eastern percussion here and there. On the track, Thawra and Ebaa fire back against censorship, exchanging sharp satirical verses packed with double entendres, through which both rappers paint a vivid imagery of an arrogant, passive male figure called '3antar', deliberately choosing to ignore the ugly reality of systemic destruction and ethnic cleansing.

A Step In the Right Direction: Egyptians to Face Fine for Returning a Sponsored Child to a Foster Home
News of a new policy introduced by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, which imposes a 20,000 EGP fine on any family that decides to return a sponsored child to a state-run foster home, is going viral. This announcement comes following the release of one of Ramadan's most talked-about shows, Welad El Shams, prompting many to draw a direct link between the drama's storyline and the timing of this policy. The goal is clearly to ensure that the decision to sponsor a child under the kafala system is not taken lightly but rather treated with deep seriousness and long-term commitment from the foster families. However, public opinion has been divided, with some questioning the impact of enforcing such policy. Could the fear of a fine force foster families to keep children they're not emotionally invested in, leaving those children to suffer in environments lacking love and genuine care? So, what do you think about this new policy? Will it truly make a difference, or does it need to be complemented with stronger first-stage assessments, ensuring that only families who are psychologically and emotionally prepared for fostering are allowed to take that step?
