Allison Williams Scored a ‘Round of Applause' During the Premiere of THAT ‘Girls' Scene
It's not fair to say that Allison Williams has regrets playing Marnie in 'Girls.' But she does have one scene she's nervous about her 'M3GAN' co-star, 14-year-old Violet McGraw, watching.
During Williams' latest appearance on 'Late Night,' Seth Meyers pointed out that McGraw is getting closer to an age 'where someone might say, Oh my god, do you know what show you would like? 'Girls.''
'To which I say, no,' Williams said as the studio audience laughed. 'How do I put this? Every time this thought experiment comes to mind, there is just one scene. If you know, you know.'
'Yep,' Meyers said immediately.
'That's just the one thing that flies into my head when I picture Violet seeing it,' Williams said.
If you're Violet McGraw, please stop reading. For everyone else, the scene in question happens in Season 4 of the HBO hit. The first episode of the season starts with Marnie getting her butt eaten by her musical partner and on-again, off-again romantic interest Desi, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who is now known for his work on 'The Bear.' When the episode first premiered, it sparked waves of internet reactions as everything about 'Girls' did. But Williams has a distinct memory of how that scene was received.
'At the premiere of that season, I recall there being like a round of applause after that scene in the theater. I was just sitting with my family like 'Well,'' Williams said.
Both Williams and Meyers defended the scene as it does show there's more dimension to Marnie's relationship with Desi. But when it comes to her young 'M3GAN' co-star, Williams is hoping McGraw will stick to her appearances in 'Sesame Street' and 'A Series of Unfortunate Events.' They explained that Leon was initially intended to be the star of the game, but it was difficult to make a horror-focused game based around him, as no one wants to see the suave action hero jump at a loud noise. This focus on fear and a new protagonist seemingly matches up with Resident Evil 7, which raised the level of horror for the franchise. In that game, players controlled Ethan Winters, who was just a regular guy searching for his wife in the swamps of Louisiana. In that game, Resident Evil mainstay Chris Redfield made an appearance at the very end and played a bigger role in Resident Evil Village. The Resident Evil developers also confirmed a few more details about the game. RE9 will be an offline, single-player game, and the events of the game will take place in Raccoon City, 30 years after the missile strike in Resident Evil 2. Clearly, something evil has remained in the ashes. Capcom did say there are more interviews with the development team regarding the game at its Resident Evil Portal site. However, once the website was mentioned during Capcom's livestream, it immediately began to crash, likely due to the sheer number of people trying to visit it. Resident Evil Requiem will be released on Feb. 27, 2026, for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

For the past few months, Phans (The Phantom of the Opera fans) have been following mysterious messages and clue drops around New York City for something called Masquerade. Talk online abounded about the roses left in Times Square or the red envelope letters signed by 'the Opera Ghost' for the faithful, as a viral campaign teased that something was coming in the realm of immersive theater. As a big Phan and immersive theater nerd, I've waited from the far wings on the West Coast with major FOMO for more news. 'I have observed that she has considerable credentials in the fields of opera and musical theater. If some of what TikTok has sleuthed is true, we may be walking through key moments from the musical's book. The possibilities are making my imagination run wild—there's the cemetery, the Phantom's lair, and, of course, the masquerade. We at least know the masquerade is the centerpiece of the production, as instructions mention a strict dress code including masks. On the official site you can also see pertinent details from 'O.G.,' who we can just say is a fabulous party planner with a flair for the dramatic. '1) Masquerade is a 21+ event. However, during the six-week preview period, Saturday and Sunday Matinees will be 16+ 2) The dress code is for the six-week preview period 3) Masks WILL be provided to guests free of charge if they arrive without one. The complimentary masks are designed to be worn under glasses if you require them. Limited edition couture masks will be available for purchase as well. 4) Guests can choose either the glass of champagne OR a non-alcoholic sparkling option on arrival 5) The experience is ADA-accessible' The details of having a mask on and it mostly being a 21+ production are definitely reminiscent of Sleep No More's hallmarks. So this might be Phantom in a way we've never seen. As a Universal Monsters fan, the possibility of horror tonally being involved pleases me.
