Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid vs DreamCloud Classic: Which affordable mattress should you buy?
Type: HybridFirmness option: Soft, medium, firmHeight: 12.25'Sizes: 14Sleep trial: 120 nightsWarranty: LifetimePrice (MSRP): from $665 at Brooklyn Bedding Type: HybridFirmness option: FirmHeight: 12'Sizes: 7Sleep trial: 365 nightsWarranty: LifetimePrice (MSRP): from $1,148 at DreamCloud Offering comfort and support in spades, the DreamCloud Classic and Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid are both great options for those looking for a responsive hybrid mattress at a relatively affordable price. You'll never find either mattress sold at full price, and both offer excellent value for money. But which is the right hybrid mattress for you? Both brands feature in our guide to the best mattresses of 2025 and we rate the DreamCloud Classic as the best value mattress currently on the market. But that's not to say that the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid doesn't have its positives — the choice of firmness options means it's easier to tweak this bed to your exact specifications. Is this personalization right for you or will the all-round support of the DreamCloud be more suitable? With permanent mattress sales on offer at both brands, there's always a great deal to be found. And if you're looking for the best back to school sleep and dorm mattress deals for your college kids, these two brands should be on your list to consider. Read on to find out more about each mattress so you can decide which is your perfect fit… Regular sales at both brands mean you'll never pay full price for either mattress. Brooklyn Bedding mattress sales have 25% off mattresses throughout the year, although we have seen this rise to 30% at some major sales events (keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming Labor Day mattress sales.) A queen is usually reduced to $999 (MSRP $1,332) but if you want to add in the optional cooling pillow top, that price will rise to $1,299 (MSRP $1,732.) DreamCloud has recently lowered the MSRP of the original mattress, meaning a queen retails at full price for $1,698. However, regular DreamCloud mattress deals mean you'll never pay that price, with a queen currently selling for $649. There's also the option to add in a heavily discounted bedding bundle, consisting of pillows, sheet set and mattress protector. Extras wise, the DreamCloud wins out here with a 365-night trial – you'll get 120 nights with the Brooklyn Bedding. Both offer a lifetime warranty and free shipping. Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid: twin was from $665 now from $498.75 at Brooklyn BeddingWith a choice of firmness options, it's easy to pick the mattress that suits your sleeping style best. Offering excellent support and motion isolation, the Signature Hybrid is always reduced by at least 25%, taking a queen down to $999 (MSRP $1,332). You'll also get a 120-night trial, lifetime warranty and free shipping. DreamCloud Classic Mattress: twin was from $1,148 now from $399 at DreamCloudAlways discounted, you shouldn't ever need to pay full MSRP for the DreamCloud Classic. Currently a queen size mattress is reduced to $649, which is an excellent price for a mattress that offers a high-quality, comfortable sleep. Extras are good, with a 365-night trial, lifetime warranty and free shipping. Like the best hybrid mattresses, both beds consist of a coil support layer and a combination of foams for comfort. The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid's design varies slightly, depending on which firmness version you've chosen. The soft and medium mattresses start with a 1.5' quilted cover designed to help wick away moisture, followed by a 1.5' layer of responsive comfort foam to adjust to your sleeping position. A 1' layer of transition foam sits on top of the individually wrapped coil layer for contouring and motion isolation, and the mattress is finished off with a foam base for durability and longevity. The firm mattress has a slightly thinner quilted cover at 0.75', followed by 1' of the responsive comfort foam. A slightly thicker layer of transition foam at 2' provides more support and the slightly firmer feel. The DreamCloud Classic is the newest version of the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid and has undergone a few small design changes. The mattress starts with a quilted top with cooling fibers and a stitched in foam layer for breathability. This is followed by a layer of contouring memory foam to relieve pressure. Adaptive response foam for spinal alignment sits on top of the layer of individually wrapped coils for support and reducing motion transfer, with a thin layer of dense foam underneath to stabilize the mattress. Finally, a protective bottom cover keeps the mattress in place and helps with longevity. In our Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress review, our tester slept on the firm bed along with the optional pillow top. But our Sleep Editor has also tried out the medium firmness without the pillow top. Either way, you won't sink into the surface of the Signature Hybrid but, like the best pillow top mattresses, the optional pillow top does add a little softness. The choice of three firmness options means the mattress will suit a variety of sleepers – the soft is best suited to side sleepers, while the medium will suit side and back sleepers. The firm is best suited to back and stomach sleepers or those of a larger build. That said, the inclusion of a pillow top will soften the firmness up a little, but this is still a bed for those who prefer a bouncy and supportive feel. Motion isolation is also excellent, but edge support is a bit average in the corners and at the foot of the bed. DreamCloud has recently redesigned its signature mattress and the Luxury Hybrid that we reviewed in our DreamCloud mattress review is now the Classic, which we are in the process of reviewing. However, the mattress is still fundamentally the same and we expect the feel to be similar. We rate the DreamCloud as one of the best mattresses for back pain, with its fantastic ability to adapt quickly to the lumbar region and soothe away aches and pains. The DreamCloud is a great all-rounder, but our side sleepers did find it took a while for the mattress to mold to their bodies. While very lightweight side sleepers may find it too firm overall, that firmer support does make it one of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers. Motion isolation and edge support are great and those sharing a bed with a restless partner should definitely put this mattress on their shortlist. Hybrid mattresses are generally more breathable than all-foam so the expectation was that both these mattresses would provide good temperature regulation. However, our tester found that the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid slept hot – so much so that they woke up in the night feeling uncomfortable. This was particularly surprising as the cooling pillow top contains GlacioTex – usually found in some of the best cooling mattresses due to its abilities to keep sleepers cool. Hot sleepers will be better served on the DreamCloud Classic. Although the design has changed slightly, the mattress contains cooling fibers built into a cover that's extremely breathable. The additional of well-spaced coils means this mattress will be a better option if you do sleep hot. ✅ You want a range of customization options: Available in soft, medium and firm firmness options, you can also choose whether or not to add in a pillow top for added softness. ✅ You need an unusual size: With 14 sizes to choose from, including a range of RV mattress sizes, the Signature Hybrid will fit any unusual space. ✅ You want to lie on top of the mattress: If the idea of the 'hug' of memory foam brings you out in a rash, the firmer and bouncier feel of the Signature Hybrid could be your perfect blend. ✅ You sleep on your back: Although it's comfortable for all sleeping positions, back sleepers in particular should find the DreamCloud extremely supportive around the lumbar region. ✅ You experience with aches and pains: The DreamCloud is one of the mattresses we recommend to those with back pain, thanks to its soothing lumbar support. ✅ You sleep hot: Although it's not a cooling mattress the DreamCloud is incredibly breathable and offers great temperature regulation.

Roles to be made redundant at funeral parlours in Bolton
A funeral care business is set to make roles redundant at its Bolton branches, it has emerged. The Co-Operative Funeralcare, which currently has two branches in Bolton, has confirmed that it will be reshaping the structure of the Bolton team. As a result of this, certain roles will be removed whilst new ones will be created as consultations are currently ongoing. It is currently unclear how many roles will be removed following the company's restructuring. A spokesperson for Co-op Funeralcare said: 'At Co-op Funeralcare, we are committed to providing the highest level of service and care to bereaved families and their loved ones in our local communities. READ MORE: Beautiful tributes at funeral held for 'charming' and 'great gentleman' Funeral to be held for 'icon in British politics' Norman Tebbit Bolton death notices and funeral announcements from The Bolton News 'As such, we regularly review our operations to ensure that our colleagues are best placed and adequately supported to deliver the highest standards for our clients and those within our care. 'We have identified the need to reshape our team in Bolton, which will enable us to further enhance our ability to serve the needs of the local community and ensure colleagues feel fully supported whilst carrying out their work. 'The changes we are proposing will see certain roles removed whilst new ones will be created and consultation with colleagues is currently ongoing.' The Co-Operative Funeralcare currently boasts 800 funeral homes in the heart of communities. The business offers pre-paid funeral plans, cremations, funeral arrangement and handling legal and administrative tasks like probate. The Bolton branches are located on Crompton Way and Albert Road in Farnworth. In April, The Co-operative Group reported annual profits jump higher, but warned it will face more than £200 million in costs and spending pressures over the year ahead. The member-owned mutual said it was bracing for 'new headwind and investment costs' in 2025 but would make 'active choices' to support staff and customers members amid cost-of-living challenges. Co-op warned cost hits would include another £80 million from the impact of shoplifting across its retail estate, following an £80 million bill from this in 2024, and £50 million from the increase in national insurance contributions. Its funeralcare arm was boosted by a 2.8 per cent jump in revenues to £289 million and notched up a jump in profits to £103 million from £13 million in 2023 thanks to an increase in funeral plan investment returns. Underlying earnings also lifted across its legal and insurance businesses, to £27 million and £15 million respectively. The group said it remained on track to hit its membership target of eight million by 2030 and open more than 120 new retail and franchise shops by the end of 2025.
