‘King of the Hill' voice actor killed in shooting

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (WTVO) — Voice actor Jonathan Joss, who played John Redcorn on 'King of the Hill,' was in a shooting after an argument with a neighbor. Joss, 59, reportedly was by the assailant during the argument outside his Texas home. The gunman fled the scene and was later apprehended by police. Despite life saving measures, Joss reportedly died at the scene. Joss voiced John Redcorn on the animated series from Season 2 to Season 13 on FOX, and recorded lines for the upcoming Hulu revival. He took over the role after original John Redcorn actor Victor Aaron was killed in a 1996 car accident. He also had roles in 'Parks and Recreation,' 'Tulsa King,' 'Ray Donovan,' 'True Grit,' and 'The Magnificent Seven' remake, according to Variety. The revived 'King of the Hill' is set to premiere on Hulu on August 4th. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Fans will also no doubt notice that he seems to have a cybernetic appendage where his right hand should be. "Predator: Killer of Killers" "Predator: Killer of Killers" 20th Century Studios This is only one of at least three Predators viewers will encounter in "Predator: Killer of Killers". Along with the Yautja hunter in this clip, at least one will be battling samurai and ninja in Japan, while a third will be taking on combat pilots in World War II. "Predator: Killers of Killers" is directed by Dan Trachtenberg and Micho Robert Rutare, and written by Rutare. Trachtenberg previously directed the 2022 "Predator" prequel film, "Prey". Trachtenberg has made sure this year would be a busy one for the "Predator" franchise. Along with "Killer of Killers", Trachtenberg directed the live-action film "Predator: Badlands," which releases in theaters in November. Trachtenberg talked to ComicBook back in April about exactly how "Killer of Killers" came to be. "I had three very cool ideas," Trachtenberg said. "One of them, the first one, the one I was the most excited about at the time, was 'Badlands.' But then there was this other thing, that was 'Prey,' [that] was really cool." "We got to put the Predator in these different time periods and tell that story. I think the thing that made 'Prey' special, though, wasn't just Predator in a different time period, it was that the story we were telling was made better by the story of the Predator, and I didn't want to just throw them into a different time period." "I really wanted to figure out, if we were to do that kind of thing again, how could it be special? And what's the kind of story we could tell that could be equally badass and awesome, but also emotional and thematic and character-oriented?" "In thinking about the different time periods, I honed in on the idea of, what if we made an animated movie where we could express ourselves in a way that we don't get to see?" "We've now had all these Predator movies and we're doing this one that's crazy different, but still with all the stuff..." "The other side of the coin that I love in Predator movies is that hard-R, crazy carnage. Wouldn't it be cool to see that in a different medium? So we made this movie, 'Killer of Killers,' at the exact same time, stupidly, but awesomely." "Predator: Killer of Killers" streams on Hulu on Friday, June 6. Jonathan Joss, 'King of the Hill' voice actor, shot and killed at 59

Jonathan Joss, 'King of the Hill' voice actor, shot and killed at 59 Jonathan Joss, an actor best known for his voice role as John Redcorn on "King of the Hill," has been shot and killed in Texas. He was 59. San Antonio police confirmed to USA TODAY that officers were dispatched to the location of a shooting in progress on Sunday, June 1, and found Joss near a roadway upon arrival. The officers "attempted life saving measures" until EMS arrived and pronounced him dead. A suspect, 56-year-old Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, was detained and booked for murder, police said. An investigation remains ongoing. Joss provided the voice of John Redcorn on "King of the Hill," the hit animated series that is set to return for a revival on Hulu in August. He also played Ken Hotate on the NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation," starring opposite Amy Poehler. Throughout his career, Joss also popped up in episodes of shows like "ER," "Charmed," and "Friday Night Lights," appeared in films like "The Forever Purge," "The Magnificent Seven" and "True Grit," and voiced characters in video games like "Cyberpunk 2077." 'King of the Hill' revival: Cast reveals what older Hank, Bobby, Peggy are up to now In April, Joss said on his Facebook page that he was hurt to have not been invited to a "King of the Hill" event. "This show was a part of my life for many years," he wrote. "That character, that voice, that story ... they were my home, my pride, my connection to something bigger than myself. To not be invited felt like being shut out of a place I helped build." 'King Of The Hill' actor Johnny Hardwick , who voiced conspiracy nut Dale Gribble, dies at 64 Joss added in his April Facebook post that he was going through "one of the hardest seasons of my life," sharing that the home he grew up in had recently burned down. "Everything I owned ... gone," he said. "My memories, my keepsakes, and most painfully, all of my dogs. My companions, my family, my comfort in this world lost in the flames. I've been rebuilding, piece by piece, soul by soul."
