Lidl to slash prices of bakery items including croissants
Lidl's bakery is a feature that brings in a huge amount of people to the supermarket, and those who are fans may be pleased to hear some prices are going down.
A number of items included within the bakery range will be reduced in price, including the almond croissant and pain au chocolate.
This is to celebrate it being crowned the UK's No.1 in-store bakery.
Lidl topped an online survey carried out by Opinium Research in February of 2,000 adults, asking what supermarket bakery they found to be the best.

Lidl bakery items to go down in price
In a statement announcing the reduction in price, Lidl said: "Shoppers will be able to bake the most of savings across 11 bakery favourites, including the undisputed queen of pastries - the All Butter Croissant - weighing in at a delicious 59p.
"Meanwhile, chocoholics can get their fill for just 69p, courtesy of a price drop across Lidl's much-loved All Butter Pain Au Chocolat, Chocolate Twist and Chocolate Hazelnut Croissant.
"And, for the same price, shoppers can also go nuts for the Pain Aux Raisin, Almond Croissant, and Maple and Pecan Plait."
A new item in the Apple Turnover, which will be introduced on Friday, April 25, will also be included in the price-cutting.
It will be available for 69p compared to its standard RRP of 75p.
The full list of items that will have their prices lowered are:
Petit Pain - 29p (down from 32p)
All Butter Croissant - 59p (down from 65p)
White Crusty Roll - 29p (down from 32p)
All Butter Pain Au Chocolate - 69p (down from 75p)
Pain Aux Raisin - 69p (down from 75p)
Chocolate Hazelnut Croissant - 69p (down from 75p)

Aldi's Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut, which was named the World Best Champagne at the World Champagne Awards is priced at just £14.95. The penny-pinching friendly drink is a whopping £30 cheaper than prestigious brand Moet, which retails for £45, but despite its budget price tag, it won the favour of experts. Aldi said: "Crafted to perfection from a classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, and matured in cellars to enhance its complexity and length, Aldi's Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut is known for its aromas of ripe apple, soft red fruit, and delicate florals - a testament to expert winemaking without the premium price tag." The purse-friendly bottle triumphed over luxury competitors including G.H. Martel Honoré de Balzac Edition Limitée Brut Champagne, which costs up to 70% more than the Aldi product. Reena Sewraz, retail editor at Which?, said: 'Aldi continues to be the UK's cheapest supermarket in our monthly price analysis for May while Lidl has narrowed the gap to just 31p. 'For a bigger list of groceries, Asda continues to be the cheapest supermarket, beating shopping at Tesco with a Clubcard by more than £10."
