Iran Star Still Chasing The ‘Enigma' Of A Goal After Inter Milan 2-1 Feyenoord Champions League Clash
Mehdi Taremi is still chasing the 'enigma' of a goal after yesterday's Champions League clash between Inter Milan and Feyenoord.
This is the view across the player ratings for the match, as highlighted by TuttoMercatoWeb.
If there is one thing that striker Mehdi Taremi has been lacking since joining Inter Milan it is goals.
The Iranian international has had some positive performances.
Taremi's holdup play have definitely been a benefit to the team, and particularly to the likes of Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez.
Yesterday it was Thuram who was Taremi's strike partner.
The Frenchman was the player to get on the scoresheet. And Taremi certainly helped to open up the spaces for Thuram,
But for Mehdi Taremi, there was still no goal.
The 32-year-old seemingly had an ideal opportunity to score.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi rested Lautaro Martinez for yesterday's match. That gave Taremi his chance to play from the first minute.
And the Feyenoord defense did certainly give Taremi his chances. There was space in the penalty area.
But yet, the decisive moment once again proved elusive for Mehdi Taremi.
The Iranian did have one good chance in the first half. But, perhaps because he was feeling the pressure he put that over.

Liverpool Star On PSG Champions League Final Demolition Job: ‘Inter Milan Got Smashed'
Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa feels that Inter Milan were 'smashed by PSG in the Champions League final.' The Italian international gave his thoughts on that final in an interview in today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement Inter Milan did not just lose to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final last Saturday. The Nerazzurri lost by the widest margin in the history of the Champions League or Europa League final. It was a humiliating 5-0 shellacking at the hands of the Parisians. In the first half, it was quickly apparent that PSG would overrun Inter in midfield and control the tempo of play. Then, the Ligue 1 champions took advantage of some sloppy defensive errors to score twice in quick succession. In the second half, meanwhile, Inter had to push forward more. Then, PSG were absolutely ruthless in exploiting the big gaps that the Nerazzurri started to leave, scoring three more times. 'In the second leg it went differently,' the 27-year-old continued. 'But they ended up winning.' Chiesa called PSG 'a very strong team, with a high intensity.' Nevertheless, the Liverpool winger admitted that 'I'd imagined that the final would be 50/50.' Meanwhile, Chiesa noted that 'Dembele's pressing on Sommer was impressive.' 'Then the goal for 2-0 after twenty minutes finished off the match. It was no longer recoverable for Inter.' 'At that point, Inter were mentally smashed.'

Roma unveil 'right man' Gasperini as new coach
Gian Piero Gasperini has signed a three year deal to coach Roma (Isabella BONOTTO) Gian Piero Gasperini was unveiled as new coach of Italian side Roma on Friday after nine hugely successful years at the helm of Atalanta. Gasperini, 67, joins Roma on a three-year-deal after turning Atalanta into one of Italy's best teams, winning the Europa League last year. Advertisement Departing coach Claudio Ranieri stepped down after Roma finished fifth in Serie A, but was on hand to welcome Gasperini, and stood beside the new man as Roma presented him. "Gasperini's career is defined by its creative tactics, dedication to hard work, and exceptional player development," Roma said on their website. "Both ownership and Claudio Ranieri believe Gasperini is the right man for the mission." Gasperini has chosen Roma over Juventus who tried to convince him to move to Turin. Gasperini is a spiky character prone to angry outbursts at journalists and he will have to deal with both an expectant, highly-strung fanbase and an intense media environment in the Italian capital.
