Holywell Museum team secure National Lottery Funding

Holywell Area Community Museum offers a number of groups to its community.
That includes mindful morning sessions (craft, knit and natter and jigsaws), bingo events and a writing course where guests can write their own story for loved ones with a trained tutor.
They also host quiz nights and historic walks through the town.
Now their work is set to continue after volunteers managed to secure £19,956 of National Lottery Funding for the 'Your Place' project at the museum.
This will focus on providing guests with a safe space to spend time, meet friends old and new, get support and enjoy a cuppa and a chat.

The project has grown out of The Museum Community Café which is manned by volunteers.
Based entirely on ongoing community feedback, the Lottery funding is in place for two years and will ensure that The Museum can secure and build on its support work, developing and expanding its range of activities for the benefit of the community.
Cllr Matt Sprake, who was just recently elected Mayor of Holywell, hailed the museum as a 'vital hub' for Holywell, Greenfield and the surrounding communities.
Speaking as he handed over the cheque, he said: "This Museum is a place that not only tells the story of our past, but now continues to shape our future. Today, we celebrate a real win for our community. It's not everyday you get to say you've won the lottery!
"Museums like this one preserve the past, but places like this will continue to do their bit for the present. We couldn't be prouder of the volunteers and everyone who made this happen."
Holywell Town Council added: "Thank you to everyone who has helped on the journey, past, present and future. Special thanks to Mayor Matt Sprake for presenting the cheque, Holywell town councillors, Wales and West Housing Association and Flintshire Local Voluntary Council for all their support and to the museum volunteers without whose help nothing would be accomplished."

Single Lotto ticket holder wins £4 million jackpot

A single ticket holder has won the £4 million jackpot in Saturday's Lotto draw. The winning Lotto numbers were 11, 17, 27, 30, 39 and 46 while the bonus number was 56. Players have been urged to check their tickets and call in to claim the top prize, with the jackpot winner matching all six main numbers to take the £4,003,513 sum. Set of balls 10 and draw machine Lancelot were used. Wednesday's jackpot will be an estimated £2 million. Andy Carter, senior winners' advisor at The National Lottery operator Allwyn, said: 'Amazing news for our lucky Lotto players, as one ticket-holder has won tonight's £4 million jackpot. 'Luck is clearly in the air, as this is the second Lotto jackpot win in a week, after a single ticket-holder bagged last Saturday's (May 31) £3.9 million jackpot.' No players matched all five numbers in Lotto HotPicks, which uses the same numbers as the Lotto draw. Twelve players won £13,000 each after they managed to match four numbers. The winning Thunderball numbers were 01, 05, 13, 17 and 39 while the Thunderball was 08. No-one matched all five numbers plus the Thunderball to scoop the £500,000 top prize, but one ticket holder matched all five regular numbers to win £5,000.

Lottery players could still win record EuroMillions jackpot next week

The EuroMillions draw on Friday night offered a record jackpot of £210m, but no winning tickets were purchased. The winning numbers were 20, 21, 29, 30, 35, with Lucky Stars 2 and 12. Seven players won the second-tier prize, entitling them to winnings of more than £2m each. The jackpot is capped at £210m, and additional money has gone to boosting prizes in the second tier. Tuesday's draw will offer an estimated jackpot of £208 million, meaning the record prize amount is still up for grabs.

Biggest ever UK lottery prize still up for grabs after no EuroMillions winner

The biggest lottery prize the UK has ever seen is still up for grabs after Friday's EuroMillions draw had no winners. The jackpot on Tuesday will be an estimated £208 million and would be the largest prize the UK has seen, National Lottery operator Allwyn said. Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at Allwyn, said: 'Tuesday sees the £208 million EuroMillions jackpot still up for grabs. 'A win of this magnitude would create the biggest National Lottery winner this country has ever seen – making a single UK winner instantly richer than the likes of Dua Lipa and Harry Kane while also landing them at the number one spot on the National Lottery's biggest wins list. 'The EuroMillions jackpot is now capped, so any money that would have gone into increasing the jackpot now boosts prizes in the next winning prize tier, meaning that we could see multiple UK players banking huge prizes for matching just the five main numbers and one Lucky Star.' The main EuroMillions winning numbers were 20, 21, 29, 30, 35 and the Lucky Stars were 02, 12. One UK ticket-holder became a millionaire after matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star, winning £2.02 million. No players won the £500,000 Thunderball jackpot by matching the five Thunderball numbers, 03, 14, 31, 32, 34, and the Thunderball number 06.
