In
Demon Slayer
:
Kimetsu no Yaiba
, each character's story is marked by sacrifice, intense training, and deep emotional background. Of the dozens of significant spirits, the seiwan ('heavenly' or 'silent' spirits) of
Sabito
and
Makomo
have maybe the most troubling effect on
Tanjiro Kamado
's path—young man shattered by the evil spirits that devoured his clan, and their wealth to 1 man—to turn into a capable slayer of the world's most dangerous beasts. Their absence strikes a severe blow both to the narrative and to viewers, forcing Tanjiro to endure one of his darkest, most defining arcs.
'He may lose or he may win. But one thing is for certain... the boulder that Tanjiro cut was bigger and harder than anyone had ever cut before!'-
Sabito
Sabito and Makomo—beyond former Tsushima students
Sabito and Makomo were former students of Sakonji Urokodaki, the Water Hashira who trains the main character, Tanjiro. Tragically, both perished during the
Final Selection
, a deadly exam for fresh recruits to the Corps, called Demon Slayers. Their souls are now permanently tied to Mount Sagiri, forever guiding new students who are lost — most notably Tanjiro.
Sabito, with his strict but truthful discipline and ever-changing swordsmanship, pushes Tanjiro beyond Tanjiro's own limitations. Makomo, as kind and soothing an instructor as you could hope for, walks you through the mechanics, techniques and philosophies behind each breathing style. Individually and collectively, they embody the duality of justice — power and mercy — and as spiritual guides, they show us more than how to wage war.

Their Role in Tanjiro's Demon Slayer Quest After characters like Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke have been introduced, Anime Gods & Demons helps deepen their characterization.
The roles these characters take on — even outside of directly training Tanjiro — serves to emphasize the importance of emotional support systems in allowing any of us to overcome hardship. They represent the souls who could not move on because their dreams were not fulfilled — teaching Tanjiro becomes their redemption.
Their shared wisdom allows Tanjiro to not only learn the ancient art of Total Concentration Breathing, increasing his swordsmanship but even more crucially developing the discipline of mind that his connected journey will demand from him. In short, they carry the wishes of the dead to the living — a key theme in Demon Slayer and a poignant reminder of the legacy through which we all live today.
By defeating the hand demon—the same creature that had earlier killed Sabito and Makomo—Tanjiro not only passes the Final Selection, but frees their souls from purgatory, giving them peace at last.
Unsung heroes of Demon Slayer
While he & other characters like Makomo are often forgotten, the spirits of these two trainers are some of the unsung heroes of Demon Slayer. Their emotional depth, selfless guidance, and silent sacrifices glorify Tanjiro's victories and embody how even those lost to us can help illuminate our way forward.
In a world where to kill is the motto and vengeance is frequently sugary, their sweet natures are abiding contribution of tenderness, instruction, and vitality unscripted — sealing them lastening as primordial, unchanging stones to the anime's heart-ethereal core.

‘Gachiakuta' trailer: Modern shounen marvel sets July release, with special theatrical premiere in India

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Gachiakuta is officially set to premiere on Crunchyroll starting July 6, 2025. Already hailed as a potential game-changer for modern shounen, the series will receive a special theatrical debut in several countries ahead of the streaming launch, including India, where fans can catch it early on July 4 at PVR Icon in Mumbai. Gachiakuta, created by Kei Urana with graffiti artist Hideyoshi Andou, has built a reputation as one of the most exciting shounen manga of recent years. First serialised in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2022, it now spans 14 volumes and is published in English by Kodansha USA. With Studio Bones (My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100) producing the anime, and a creative team stacked with veterans including director Fumihiko Suganuma, writer Hiroshi Seko, and composer Taku Iwasaki, the expectations are intense. The official trailer, released alongside a new key visual, introduces the protagonist Rudo Surebrec, a slum dweller wrongfully accused of murder and exiled into the abyss, which is essentially, a trash pit crawling with monstrous creatures. There, Rudo must fight for survival and vengeance, joining a group called the Cleaners to battle towering trash beasts. The anime also showcases high-profile voice talent, with Aoi Ichikawa as Rudo, Katsuyuki Konishi as Enjin, Yumiri Hanamori as Riyou Reaper, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Zanka Nijiku. The series will also feature an opening song 'HUGs' by Paledusk and an ending theme 'TOMOSHIBI' by DUSTCELL. Alongside India, premiere screenings are planned in Tokyo, Los Angeles, Paris, São Paulo, Berlin, and Rome. The July 4 premiere at Anime Expo in L.A. will also feature a panel with creators Kei Urana, Hideyoshi Andou, and producer Naoki Amano.

Meet man who failed IIT-JEE exam, started giving tuition to children, earned Rs 5000 as first salary, now runs Rs 90000000000 company, now is India's richest…

The richest teacher of India once dreamed of joining IIT, but life had other plans. Indeed true, Alakh Pandey aspired to study at IIT and become an engineer, but he couldn't crack the JEE examination. Yet, this failure didn't break him. Instead, it became a turning point in his life. He discovered his true passion for teaching, and the rest is history! This paved the creation of Physics Wallah, which is at present a multi-crore ed-tech empire. Hailing from Prayagraj, Alakh Pandey pursued his studies at Harcourt Butler Technical Institute in Kanpur. However, it is reported that he left the program during his second year. He realized that his true passion lay in teaching. With his family facing financial difficulties, Pandey chose to pursue teaching as a full-time career and returned home to start giving tuition classes. For the unversed, Pandey had initially dreamed of becoming an actor and was involved in local theatre in his younger days. He began coaching students of Class 8 because of his poor economic conditions. Pandey was also famously known as the 'Physics Guy.' If media reports are to be believed, Pandey's parents had sold their house to support his and his sister's education. Speaking of his educational qualification, Alakh scored 91% in Class 10 and 93.5% in Class 12. At the age of 22, he dropped out of his engineering college and returned to Allahabad to teach physics, earning just Rs 5,000 per month during that time. In the year 2016, Alakh Pandey started his YouTube channel named Physics Wallah. At first, there were fewer views, but he didn't lose hope. Due to his different way of teaching and genuineness, he slowly gained students' trust. With time, lakhs of students started following him. He is the one who started the Physics Wallah mobile app in 2018, where quality education reached rural and urban students. The app was a means of low-cost, high-quality learning and helped to make the company a go-to educational brand in India. Physics Wallah raised a whopping $101 million funding in 2022, giving it the elite unicorn startup tag. Its valuation jumped to almost ₹9,100 crore. This was a standout feat given that Alakh Pandey constructed this huge edifice of education without going to IIT or having a formal degree. Alakh Pandey is one of the richest teachers in India, with an estimated net worth of Rs 4,400 crore. While it's hard to say for sure who the richest teacher is, many people believe Alakh is among the top. He is well-known as both a teacher and a successful entrepreneur. 'PW(Physics Wallah) is student's lifelong learning partner that is democratizing education at scale in India, with a presence spanning online, offline, and hybrid modes, reaching 98% of India's pin codes. PW has more than 10 million paid students on the PW App. PW also provides quality education to more than 36 million students through its 80 YouTube channels in 8 vernacular languages,' reads the official website. Alakh embarked on this journey in 2020, alongside Co-Founder Prateek Maheshwari, with the goal of making high-quality education accessible to all students in Bharat.
