Spanish legend Sergio Garcia and his Fireballs GC seek to defend their individual and team titles from last year
The Fireballs won last year's title at Valderrama in a team playoff over Crushers GC, who finished third the previous year
Bryson DeChambeau's Crushers will seek to match the LIV Golf record of four consecutive team wins set by 4Aces GC during the inaugural 2022 season
The Crushers moved atop the season-long team standings with their dominant 11-shot victory in Dallas; they also won the previous two tournaments in Korea and Virginia
4Aces GC's Patrick Reed won his first individual LIV Golf title in Dallas, claiming a four-man playoff that included Paul Casey (Crushers), Louis Oosthuizen (Stinger GC) and Jinichiro Kozuma (Iron Heads GC)
Four Spanish natives are in the 54-man field – Garcia and his Fireballs teammates David Puig and recently signed Josele Ballester, and Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm, a two-time major winner and winner of the 2024 LIV Golf Individual Championship
Latin star Joaquin Niemann of Chile is the current individual points leader with four wins in the first nine tournaments this season
Andalucía is the last LIV Golf tournament prior to next week's Open Championship, in which 19 of the league's players will compete at Royal Portrush LEGENDARY VALDERRAMA
Spanish-born Sergio Garcia, the captain of Fireballs GC, calls Real Club Valderrama "my favorite course in the world."
Given that Garcia has won four professional tournaments there, including his breakthrough LIV Golf individual playoff in 2024, it's no wonder a smile crosses his face whenever he talks about Valderrama.
The 45-year-old Garcia certainly is happy to return to the course for this week's LIV Golf Andalucía for the third consecutive year.
"It's super special," Garcia said. "Not only for me but for all of us because of how much Valderrama means to all of us, to Europe, all the amazing things that have happened here on this golf course."
Last year was certainly amazing for both Garcia and his Fireballs, as they swept both trophies via playoff – the only time in LIV Golf's young history that a tournament has produced a double playoff for the individual and team titles.
"It's been great to me," Garcia said.
Garcia is not the only Spanish-born captain in LIV Golf. Legion XIII's Jon Rahm also enjoys returning to his home country to play Valderrama, the first course in Continental Europe to host the Ryder Cup in 1997.
"It's all subjective, but it's probably the best golf course we have in Spain," Rahm said. "It's something that we all grew up wanting to play."
Cleeks Golf Club Captain Martin Kaymer was born in Germany but now resides in the Sotogrande area that includes Valderrama. He's been close on several occasions in his pro career to lifting a trophy there.
"One of those venues where I wanted to put my name on the trophy," Kaymer said. "I came close. I think I finished five or six times in the top 5. So, it's a golf course that I like, that I enjoy playing, that I can play well. It's a matter of time, hopefully." CHASING THE RECORD
Bryson DeChambeau's Crushers GC have won the last three LIV Golf team titles and will seek a fourth straight trophy at LIV Golf Andalucía. If they win at Valderrama, it would match the LIV Golf record for longest win streak by either a team or individual. LIV GOLF WIN STREAKS

San Roque, Cádiz, Spain
Par: 71Yardage: 7,010
Meters: 6,410 Ranked among the top courses in the world, Real Club Valderrama has hosted numerous professional events, including LIV Golf Andalucía in 2023 and 2024, along with the 1997 Ryder Cup – the first time the event had been held in Continental Europe
Valderrama was originally designed by famed golf architect Robert Trent Jones in 1974. Jones was brought back to work on the course when Jaime Ortiz-Patiño bought the course in the mid-1980s
Valderrama is widely considered to be the "Augusta of Europe" for its championship pedigree and immaculate maintenance
The golf club is one of two in Europe to be awarded the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program Certification for its commitment to conserve and restore natural ecosystems
The course will have four par-4 holes under 400 yards; the longest par 3 is 225 yards, the longest par 4 is 490 yards and the longest par 5 is 564 yards
The 564-yard par-5 fourth, known as La Cascada, has a pond to the right of a two-tiered green
The memorable 536-yard par-5 17th provides a natural amphitheater for fans
Sergio Garcia (2024) and Talor Gooch (2023) have won individual LIV Golf titles at Valderrama, while Fireballs GC (2024) and Torque GC (2023) have team wins
In 2024, the hardest hole was the par-4 18th with a stroke average of 4.340; the easiest hole was the par-5 11th (4.716)
The 212-yard par-3 12th was the hardest hole in 2023 and the second-hardest in 2024
Green types: Bermuda Tifway 419 on fairways and rough; T1 Creeping Bentgrass on greens KEYS TO SUCCESS
Bogey Avoidance: Much more important than birdie rate. The average top-5 finisher at this course has made 2.75 bogeys per round vs 4.25 for the other players finishing in the top 50.
Finding Fairways: The value of distance is the lowest all season, averaging at just +0.11 per hole. There is also severe miss fairway penalty in play, average +0.40. Driver will likely only be used 6/7 times at the most.
Inside 150 Yards: Players will face 52% of their approach shots this week with the wedges inside of 150 yards vs the season average of 32.5%.
Lag Putting: Because the penalty for missing greens is so severe, players focus on the middle and larger parts of the greens instead of aiming for flags. Thus, longer lag first putts are more impactful.

La Liga Soccer: Livestream Every Game of the 2025-26 Season From Anywhere
The race for the Spanish top flight restarts as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético prepare for another fierce title battle in La Liga. Below, we'll outline the best live TV streaming services to use to watch the 2025/26 soccer La Liga season as it happens, wherever you are in the world, and how to use a VPN if the match isn't available there. Handi Flick's first season in charge at FC Barcelona was one to remember, with the German coach guiding the Catalan giants to a domestic double. Unsurprisingly, the Blaugrana haven't made much in the way of major changes to their squad during the summer, with goalkeeper Joan García and highly touted young winger Roony Bardghji joining alongside loan star Marcus Rashford. Barça's eternal rival Real Madrid, by contrast, has entered a new era under the leadership of former Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso, who replaced Carlo Ancelotti as head coach. Last season's underwhelming campaign has prompted some big signings to complement the likes of Galácticos Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alvaro Carreras and Dean Huijsen moving to the Bernabeu. Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, will be once again hoping to close the gap on the top two, while Athletic Bilbao, Getafe and Villarreal will be looking to build on impressive top-five finishes last term. The new campaign also sees Levante, Elche and Real Oviedo joining from Segunda Division, with the latter making their return to the top flight for the first time in 24 years. The new season kicked off on Aug. 15, with the final fixtures set to played on Sunday, May 24, 2025. Real Madrid and Barcelona have dominated La Liga, winning 36 and 28 titles respectively. IonHow to watch La Liga in the US without cable As with last season, all Spanish top-flight games will be available to stream in the US via ESPN Plus, which has live English- and Spanish-language broadcast rights for La Liga in the US. Select games will also be broadcast on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Deportes, throughout the season. It's worth noting that ESPN is launching an all-new standalone streaming service later this month. How to watch the La Liga from anywhere with a VPN If you find yourself unable to view La Liga matches locally, you may need a different way to watch the games -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on game day by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins. With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the game. Most VPNs, like our Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN, make it really easy to do this. Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions. James Martin/CNET ExpressVPN Best VPN for streaming Price $13 per month, $100 for the first 15 months (then $117 per year) or $140 for the first 28 months (then $150 per year) Latest Tests No DNS leaks detected, 18% speed loss in 2025 tests Network 3,000 plus servers in 105 countries Jurisdiction British Virgin Islands ExpressVPN is our current best VPN pick for people who want a reliable and safe VPN, and it works on a variety of devices. It's normally $13 a month, but if you sign up for an annual subscription for $100 you'll get three months free and save 49%. That's the equivalent of $6.67 a month with code SPECIALDEAL, which should be automatically applied. Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. 61% off with 2yr plan (+4 free months) See at ExpressVPN Livestream the La Liga 2025/26 season in the UK There's a little bit of a shake up with La Liga viewing options in the UK this season, with Disney Plus now set to show Saturday primetime matches exclusively live. After missing Tour Championship, Xander Schauffele weighing start before Ryder Cup
Was the fan behavior at the BMW Championship a "harbinger" for things to come at the Ryder Cup? Joel Beall discusses this and his read on Keegan Bradley's captains picks for Team USA, including himself. Xander Schauffele isn't at East Lake for the first time in his career, the result of a rib injury that cost him two months at the start of the season. He never quite found any momentum in his game with his swing out of sync. 'It would be nice to have three months off. That would be ideal if we were being honest,' Schauffele said at the BMW Championship . 'I feel like I need to get as far away from golf as possible very soon. That's how I feel.' That's not the reality, however. Schauffele had such a big year in the majors last year — winning the PGA Championship and The Open, top-10 finishes in the other two — that he was among the first to clinch a spot on the Ryder Cup team. Three months? The Ryder Cup starts in 38 days. Schauffele was among the players who confirmed to The Associated Press in July that the U.S. team planned to play at the Procore Championship in Napa, California, the week of Sept. 8-14, two weeks before the Ryder Cup. The exception would be Bryson DeChambeau, suspended when he bolted to Saudi-funded LIV Golf in 2022 and then was among those who sued the PGA Tour. It might also be missing Schauffele. 'I'm not sure,' Schauffele said when asked if he would be there. 'I haven't signed up yet. It would be nice to play, but if I don't think playing is going to help me, then I won't play.' Despite his recovery from a rib injury that led to his swing getting out of sorts, Schauffele extended his cut streak to 71 — exactly halfway to the record held by Tiger Woods. He also managed six finishes in the top 12 and two top-10s in the majors. 'I think I understand more than I did before,' he said. 'The frustration before was more not understanding why I was doing certain things. Now I know why I'm hitting it bad and don't know how to fix it. So, frustration for different reasons. I don't know what's worse.' He kept his attitude in good shape — the California native is renowned for his positive attitude regardless of his results — and he looks forward to sorting it out. 'I love golf. I love trying to figure it out,' he said. 'But it's been a trying year. I definitely need to hit the reset button. The next step will be to come back with a solid plan and stick to it.'

Iga Świątek and Carlos Alcaraz should be obvious US Open favorites
With the 2025 US Open on the horizon later this month, Iga Świątek and Carlos Alcaraz have put themselves in some very strong company. En route to her first Cincinnati Open title ever, Świątek didn't drop a single set (!) while also becoming the first Polish player ever to win the event. Meanwhile, Alcaraz may have been less dominant on the men's side, but he still won the tournament to cap a run this year that features seven straight finals appearances (with five wins). Right now, it would be impossible to overstate the elite form both the Polish and Spanish superstars find themselves in. While anything can happen when you have competition like Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff, among others, for the women, and the relentless Jannik Sinner for the men, recent Cincinnati history says tennis bettors should intently focus their energy on Świątek and Alcaraz as the favorites in Queens. Why? Aside from the groove both Świątek and Alcaraz are in, each of the last four Cincinnati Open winners (women and men) in 2023 and 2024 all went on to win that ensuing iteration of the US Open. In 2023, it was Gauff and Novak Djokovic. In 2024, it was Sabalenka and Sinner. And if recent history follows suit, that means Świątek and Alcaraz will likely both win the 2025 US Open. (Note: The draw for both the women and men will be on Thursday, August 21. Świątek and Alcaraz are expected to be the respective No. 2 seeds. The singles tournament will officially start on Sunday, August 24.) Oddsmakers with FanDuel seem to generally agree with this sentiment. After a rough start to the year, Świątek (+310) is now basically neck and neck odds-wise with Sabalenka (+290), who is, again, the defending US Open champion. If anyone can unseat Sabalenka, it sure feels like Świątek is the most likely to do it. Meanwhile, for the men, Alcaraz (+135) is also just behind the reigning champion in Sinner (+110). However, that small gap might not necessarily be reflective of the results of the 2025 Cincinnati Open. Alcaraz and Sinner have already met in four separate finals this year, with Alcaraz coming out on top in three of them: None of this should be any surprise, really. For one, Świątek and Alcaraz are generational players who have seemingly become entranced and impossibly locked in as 2025 has worn on. That they've been especially dominant lately isn't a shock to anyone paying attention. For the other, in essence, we're talking about a top-notch warmup (Cincinnati) heading into the last Grand Slam tournament of the calendar year. You can ride a wave of momentum into the US Open if you excel in Cincinnati. Feel free to place your money on whoever you want at this year's US Open. But the smart pre-tournament money will gravitate to Świątek and Alcaraz. And for good reason.
