Cork City boss Clancy steps down
The club are currently in ninth place in the Premier Division table after losing 2-1 to Derry City on Friday night at Turner's Cross.
'The decision to leave is mine and mine alone," said Clancy, in a statement issued by the club.
"I am proud to have brought this team back to the League of Ireland Premier Division, and believe they have so much more to give.
"I would like to thank the players, Dermot Usher and the entire staff at Cork City FC for the opportunity to work with them, and wish them the best for the remainder of the season.'
Dermot Usher, owner of Cork City FC, added: 'I spoke with Tim this evening, and while obviously disappointed, I fully respect his decision.
"On behalf of the club, I would like to thank him for his commitment over the past 18 months, and for everything he has done for the Rebel Army.'
The recruitment process for a new manager is now under way, the club stated.

RTÉ WILL BROADCAST two of the 2025 Sports Direct Men's FAI Cup quarter-finals live. Both all-Premier Division ties will be shown by the national broadcaster, after the draw was made yesterday. Their reward for overcoming Derry City - whom they had beaten in last year's final - on penalties on Saturday is a home quarter-final against Shamrock Rovers. 2 Shamrock Rovers have come out on top in each of the sides' league meetings this season 2 Galway United and St Patrick's Athletic have been evenly matched in the league Advertisement Kevin Doherty's side have not beaten the league leaders in any of their last nine meetings, losing seven times and drawing twice. Holders Drogheda United will take on Shamrock Rovers in the quarter-finals of the Sports Direct FAI Cup. The draw was made this afternoon with Kevin Doherty's side facing a tough task against the champions-elect Hoops. Stephen Bradley is eyeing a double and must overcome the side third in the Premier Division table as it stands. Elsewhere there is another all-Premier Division clash with old rivals Stephen Kenny and John Caulfield to meet again as St Patrick's Athletic host Galway United. Cork City face the long trip to Donegal to take on Finn Harps. Sligo Rovers will face Kerry for the first time with the game to be held in Mounthawk Park in the remaining quarter-final Ties will be played the week ending 14 September and RTÉ Sport will broadcast two of the matches live as well as the semi-finals and final.
