Luke Littler and Natasha Jonas recognised in King's Birthday Honours
Darts phenomenon Luke Littler and boxing world champion Natasha Jonas are among those named in the King's Birthday Honours.
Both the PDC world champion, from Warrington, and the Toxteth fighter, are awarded MBEs in the honours list.
Jonas, a two-weight champion of the world, followed a glittering amateur career with success in the professional ranks. The 40-year-old has also won World and European Championship medals.

She recently highlighted the impact of growing up in Liverpool on her life and career, and said: "Your environment and the people that you surround yourself with are big factors in how successful you can be. In this city, we are driven. If there's one thing that we do well, it is we create athletes and sports stars."
Littler, 18, has taken the darts world by storm, reaching the last two PDC finals and winning the 2025 event. His rivalry with Luke Humphries at the top of the sport is reflected in both men receiving MBEs.
Elsewhere, figures from the worlds of science, policing and academia were among local names to make the list.
Among them were Merseyside Police Constable Mark Hobin, whose charity efforts were recognised with an MBE.
Outgoing Chief Constable Serena Kennedy said: "Mark is one of those incredible people who has dedicated a huge portion of his life and service to supporting others through his charitable work."
PC Hoban said: "I am incredibly proud and deeply honoured to have been awarded an MBE in His Majesty The King's Birthday Honours list.
"Over the last 22 years, policing has taught me the values of teamwork, camaraderie, respect, discipline, compassion and inclusion. It has helped me overcome challenges, deal with tragedy and celebrate success. Above all it has taught me about the power of community spirit and cohesion."
Hazel Fothergill, executive assistant to the Chief Constable, was awarded an MBE for services to policing.

P.J. Duke set to be youngest U.S. men's freestyle wrestler at world championships in 50 years
P.J. Duke is set to become the youngest U.S. male freestyle wrestler to compete at a senior world championships in more than 50 years. Duke, an 18-year-old who recently completed a 152-1 high school career, rallied past Yianni Diakomihalis, a four-time NCAA champion and 2022 World silver medalist, in USA Wrestling's Final X to earn the 70kg spot at September's worlds in Croatia. Duke lost the first match by mercy rule (10-0 at the 3:26 mark of the scheduled six minutes) in the best-of-three championship series. He won the next two matches, 17-10 and finally with a pin in the decider at the 4:07 mark. He celebrated with a backflip at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. 'That first match, didn't wrestle my best,' Duke said. 'It's a feel match. Didn't doubt myself once.' Duke said he saw an interview where Diakomihalis, who is eight years older, said he would 'try to mangle' Duke. 'I took that personal,' Duke said. 'I'm not going to let that slide. He's a good mentor to me, but I work my butt too hard to be mangled.' Duke has his last day of high school on Monday in Slate Hill, New York, then matriculates at NCAA champion Penn State on June 28 and turns 19 on July 7. He was named the national prep wrestler of the year by WIN Magazine. He would be the youngest U.S. male freestyle wrestler to compete at senior worlds since 1974, when Billy Rosado did so at age 18. John Bowlsby had also finished high school that year and wrestled at worlds. Current rules stipulate that wrestlers have to turn at least 18 in the year of the senior worlds to be eligible to compete. 'I'm sure people will be saying, 'He's only 18. He's too young for senior level,'' Duke said. 'That's what they said here. It didn't go too well for them.' PJ DUKE DOES IT!!! High Schooler PJ Duke just PINNED World Silver medalist Yianni Diakomihalis to make team USA! Nick Zaccardi,

Who Will Face Gunther for the WWE World Title at SummerSlam?
Who Will Face Gunther for the WWE World Title at SummerSlam? originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Gunther may not be unbeatable, but he has a knack for getting to the top and staying there. The Austrian 'Ring General' ruled NXT UK for more than two years before arriving on the main WWE roster. He shattered The Honky Tonk Man's 35-year record by holding the Intercontinental title for 666 days. After winning last year's King of the Ring tournament, Gunther dethroned Damien Priest to become World champion at SummerSlam 2024. Advertisement Jey Uso knocked the champ off his throne at WrestleMania 41, just like Sami Zayn beat Gunther for the IC title at WM 40. But it was only a matter of time before this happened. New World Champion Gunther (Getty) Gunther said last week that he would regain the title because Jey Uso couldn't stop helping his friends. Indeed, Uso came into the match with a rib injury at the hands of Bronson Reed. Gunther beat the weakened Uso on Monday night in Phoenix to recapture the title. On the same night, the King of the Ring tournament began. The winner will challenge for the WWE or World title at SummerSlam. Let's take a look at the brackets. Sami Zayn already won the first match. He could win the KOTR tournament at Night of Champions in front of his adoring fans in Saudi Arabia. Then, Zayn could try to beat Gunther again and win his first World title. Advertisement Cody Rhodes, Sheamus, Priest, and Randy Orton are former World champions. Rusev, Aleister Black, and Carmelo Hayes could be ready for a breakout victory. And what about that mystery spot? As the poster suggested, it could be Roman Reigns. But there's one man that we can't forget, especially when it comes to being an opponent for Gunther. Goldberg (Getty) Last year at Bad Blood in Atlanta, Goldberg came out of the crowd and confronted Gunther. The 58-year-old former WCW champion is training for the final match of his career. What better way to go out than with a title vs. career match at SummerSlam against Gunther? Advertisement Remember, Goldberg doesn't have to become King of the Ring. The tournament winner could choose to face John Cena or CM Punk for the WWE title at SummerSlam, while Goldberg can set his sights on Gunther.
