GALLERY: Aberdeen Kiltwalk 2025 along the Deeside Railway
Aberdeen Kiltwalkers were on track to raise over £1.2 million for 500 charities, with a record-breaking 6,000 participants of all ages beaming as they donned their kilts and came together for a day full of energy and purpose.
The Kiltwalk featured two route options, each starting in a different location but ending at the same spot.
was an 18-mile challenge starting from Bellfield Park in Banchory.
Walkers took in stunning scenery along the way, following the Deeside Way along the river as they made their way into the city. The route ended at Aberdeen's Duthie Park, where they were welcomed with cheers, music and a well-earned party.
offered a shorter four-mile option, perfect for families and those looking for a gentler pace. Starting at Cults Academy, walkers trekked towards the west end park to join the fundraising celebrations.
All funds raised went to their chosen charities.

On Saturday, September 14, a team from Edinburgh Leisure will be taking part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk, walking to raise vital funds to support older adults across the city, and they want you to join them. Every step taken and every pound raised will go directly towards improving the lives of older people - not just funding a project but making a real difference to real people. The money raised will support participants of Ageing Well, one of Edinburgh Leisure's Active Communities programmes, which offers a lifeline of physical activity and social connection to older adults across the city. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Last year, almost 80 participants joined the Edinburgh Leisure Kiltwalk Team and raised £17,500, enabling the delivery of the 2024-25 project. This year they're aiming for £15,00 to keep this life-changing work going. Every penny (plus gift aid) goes directly to Ageing Well. All those signing up to the Kiltwalk to raise funds for Edinburgh Leisure will receive a 50% discount on the registration fee and an Edinburgh Leisure T-shirt and a tartan-themed snood. Rachael McCrae, Head of Funding for Edinburgh Leisure explained: 'Many people don't realise we're a charity. Ageing Well supports older adults in Edinburgh to stay active and stay connected. It's led by a fantastic team which includes many older adult volunteers and offers walking, cycling, gardening, buddy swimming and more. Like many charities with reduced funding, we're feeling the pinch! Every pound raised will help keep this going – and with your Kiltwalk steps, you'll get active too!' Kiltwalk hero wins £30k car prize amid 'toughest year' for family
Fiona Slicer walked the Glasgow Kiltwalk in honour of her mum who is battling cancer - landing herself a £30k car prize. A kind-hearted Scot has been handed a £30,000 towards a brand new car, thanks to her fundraising efforts at this year's Glasgow Kiltwalk. Fiona Slicer, from Linwood near Glasgow, was one of the 19,000 walkers who participated in April's Kiltwalk through the city. She was automatically entered into a prize draw for a life changing car credit prize from Arnold Clark, who sponsored the event. The 44-year-old completed the 14-mile walk to raise funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity, where her mum, Catriona, is currently undergoing treatment for mantle cell lymphoma. The surprise took place last month when Fiona was invited to her aunt's house in Erskine thinking she was helping her dad, Andy, care for her mum following chemotherapy at the Beatson. Unknown to Fiona, the Kiltwalk and Arnold Clark team had secretly arrived at the house with the specially branded Kiltwalk car – complete with feather flags and a giant red bow – to break the news that she had been chosen as this year's winner. Gordon, her husband, as well as her cousin, nieces and other family members, were also in on the act and gathered to witness the emotional moment Fiona was told the incredible news. Fiona said: "I honestly couldn't believe it. I walked the Kiltwalk for my mum and the Beatson who've been amazing. I was lucky to do the walk with my cousin, Annette, who considers my mum as her mum too and I couldn't pick a better walking partner. "This year's been so tough for our family, and we never expected anything like this. It's such a generous prize, and I'm just so grateful.' Russell Borrie, Chief Executive Officer at Arnold Clark, said: "We're absolutely thrilled to hand over £30,000 of credit towards a new car to this year's Glasgow Kiltwalk Car Reward winner, Fiona. Linwood fundraiser 'stunned' after landing £30,000 car cash gift

A big-hearted Linwood woman was left 'stunned' when she was handed £30,000 to be put towards a new car from Arnold Clark. The reward was for her heartfelt fundraising efforts in this year's Glasgow Kiltwalk. Fiona Slicer – who is originally from the Isle of Skye but now lives in Renfrewshire – completed the 14-mile Big Stroll to raise money for the Beatson Cancer Charity where her mum, Catriona, is currently undergoing treatment for mantle cell lymphoma. She was automatically entered into the draw for the life-changing car credit prize – donated by Kiltwalk headline sponsor Arnold Clark – after registering and fundraising for the Glasgow event alongside nearly 19,000 other participants. Fiona said: 'I honestly couldn't believe it. I walked the kiltwalk for my mum and the Beatson who have been amazing. I was lucky to do the walk with my cousin Annette who considers my mum her mum too and I couldn't pick a better walking partner.'
