Louis Tomlinson admits being 'very proud' of Harry Styles in rare comment

Louis Tomlinson has opened up about his former bandmate Harry Styles, admitting he couldn't be prouder of the global mega-star for 'taking over the world' Louis Tomlinson has revealed he's "very proud" of his former bandmate Harry Styles. The two found fame as one-fifth of One Direction back in 2010, after former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger spearheaded the decision to create the band on The X Factor. Despite finishing the show in third place, the band, consisting of Louis, 33, Harry, 31, Niall Horan, 31, Zayn Malik, 32, and the late Liam Payne, 31, they went on to find fame across the globe and became one of the biggest selling boybands of all time. ‌ For five years, the band toured the globe, racked up countless Number 1 records and dozens of awards before making the decision to start a hiatus. However, just one year later, it emerged that their hiatus had turned into a permanent split. ‌ But since then, all five members have gone on to carve out successful solo careers. Now, Doncaster-born Louis has silenced speculation that he has become distant from his bandmates as he opened up about his bond with Cheshire's Harry. Speaking on a new podcast, he said he's in regular contact. "I do still know him," he said on the Yoto Daily Soccer Aid Special podcast. Louis went on to say: "I used to be in a band with him, we're not in a band anymore so that's what happens. But yeah, still good friends with him. "Still very, very proud of him, taking over the world, definitely." Fans have since reacted to the sweet admission, with one writing: "Oh God, that's so cute." A second went on to add: "My heart just exploded." "I'm sobbing so f***ng hard. Nobody speak to me. This is the best day ever," exclaimed a third. Meanwhile, a fourth added: "Today just became the best day of my life." Since launching their solo careers, Louis has gone on to release two studio albums, Walls, which charted at Number Four in 2020, as well as Faith in the Future, which saw him take Number One in November 2022. ‌ Elsewhere, Harry's debut album charted at Number One, with his second taking the second spot, and his third solo album, Harry's House, hitting the top spot across the globe. He's also bagged an impressive six BRIT Awards and three solo Grammy Awards – despite being nominated nine times. Louis' comments come just days before he'll walk out onto the pitch at Old Trafford as part of Soccer Aid for UNICEF. The musician will play alongside the likes of Tom Grennan, Roman Kemp, Toni Duggan, Jill Scott, Alex Brooker, Angryginge and James Nelson-Joyce. ‌ Speaking about taking part in the match, Louis told TV Week: "It's the only real opportunity you get to play in a football game of that magnitude if you're not a professional footballer. So it's very exciting for a football fan, and coupled with all the good that the charity has done over the past two decades, it's remarkable really." But there's one moment that sticks out in Louis's head, playing against Niall in the 2016 game. He said: "I played against my One Direction bandmate Niall Horan in 2016. I'm the kind of guy who will rub it in your face when I win. So I kind of enjoyed having that over Niall for a couple of years!" Louis' younger sisters, twins Daisy and Phoebe, will be on hand to offer their support in the stands. Speaking previously to the Mirror, Phoebe, said: "Obviously, with Louis playing, I've only attended once, but it was really fun. Super excited, Louis playing just makes it more interesting and a bit more funny as well." Daisy commented: "I wouldn't say I feel as nervous seeing him play football than sing but I probably should. He sings more than he plays football but I heard he's been putting in the graft in training so I shouldn't feel too nervous on the day." The match takes place on Sunday 15th of June at Old Trafford, Manchester, and will air on ITV1 and ITVX.

Taylor swift's wild comment to Travis exposed by lip reading expert

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have sent fans wild after being spotted enjoying each other's company at an ice hockey game in Florida this week Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce enjoyed a day out together at Amerant Bank Arena to watch an ice hockey game this week - and a lip-reader has pointed out that their conversation may point to something exciting in their future. The couple were attending a game between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers and pictures from the event showed Travis in a red sweatshirt and cap, while Taylor wore a beige jacket with white heeled boots. ‌ A lip-reading expert, NJ Hickling, has claimed Travis could be seen telling Taylor: 'Yeah cos I'm big, they're quite good jackets. It'll be tailored, has a hat and everything.' Taylor is then seen to reply to her beau with: 'That's crazy' before sipping her drink. ‌ Travis then showed her something on his phone as Taylor said 'Oh wow' before Travis asked her 'do you want that?' to which she replied: 'You'd look like a movie star,' the lip reader claimed to MailOnline before the athlete said: 'That looks like the perfect one.' Fans were wondering if the comments made at the game could point to his future involvement in film projects. The NFL star already has a foot in the film industry, and is credited as a producer on the movie My Dead Friend Zoe, and an upcoming project simply labelled as the Untitled Jean-Michel Basquiat Documentary on IMDB. He told People that working as a producer on My Dead Friend Zoe was an "incredible experience'. Travis said he felt 'proud' to be part of the movie's team, adding: 'My hope is to continue working on meaningful projects like this — stories that entertain, inspire and make a real impact.' He is also credited as an actor on Loose Cannons, and played himself in the series Moonbase 8. Taylor has appeared in a slew of films and TV shows, including playing Audrey in The Lorax, Elaine in New Girl, Rosemary in The Giver, and Bombalurina in Cats. Last week, speculation over the couple's marital status began to rise after a wedding planner shared an Instagram story showing the behind-the-scenes details from the wedding of NFL player Cole Kmet. ‌ In one of the social media clips, fans spotted an envelope with calligraphy on the front addressing it to Taylor and Travis Kelce at table 13. Of course, this sent fans into meltdown, as 13 is known to be Taylor's favourite number. The couple have had a busy start to June, as they attended the wedding of Travis' cousin, Tanner Corum, who married Samantha Peck. Pictures from the day showed Taylor wearing a strapless blue floral dress with heels, while Travis wore a quarter-sleeved shirt and trousers. Earlier this year, Travis opened up about his relationship with the Shake It Off singer while appearing on The Stephen A Smith Show. He said that she was supportive of his sports career and was 'fully encouraging' him to 'enjoy playing this game'. He added: 'She loves coming to Arrowhead [Stadium] and coming to the games and cheering for me so I've got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.' Travis continued on to say that he was happy to have 'that confidence and comfort off the field and all the support I could ever ask for in the stadium'.

Major update in Liam Payne death investigation with trial date set

Two men accused of supplying drugs to former One Direction singer Liam Payne just hours before his fatal fall from a hotel balcony will face trial, Argentinian prosecutors have confirmed. Braian Nahuel Paiz, 25, a restaurant waiter, and Ezequiel David Pereyra, 24, a former hotel employee, have been in custody since early January. They stand accused of selling cocaine to the British musician, who died on October 16, 2024, after falling from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires. The Little Things hitmaker was a beloved UK musician after rising to fame alongside his former bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles on The X Factor in 2010. In a statement released by Argentina's public prosecution service, Prosecutor Andrés Esteban Madrea confirmed the pair would go to trial, facing potential prison sentences of up to 15 years if convicted of drug trafficking offenses. 'Braian Nahuel Paiz, who met Payne while working as a waiter in Puerto Madero, and Ezequiel David Pereyra, a former employee at the hotel where the incident occurred, are charged with the crime of selling drugs,' the statement read. Forensic investigations revealed Payne had consumed cocaine through both snorting and smoking shortly before his death. An autopsy showed he died from severe polytrauma and internal and external bleeding, and toxicology reports detected a combination of substances in his system, including cocaine, alcohol (at 2.7 grams per litre), methylecgonine, benzoylecgonine, cocaethylene, and the antidepressant sertraline. 'The toxicological analysis confirmed Liam Payne had ingested cocaine at least 72 hours before his death and possibly as recently as a few minutes before falling from the hotel balcony,' authorities said. Three other individuals initially charged in connection with Payne's death – his close friend Rogelio Nores, hotel receptionist Esteban Grassi, and head of hotel security Gilda Martin – were cleared of wrongdoing after an appeal overturned a lower court's manslaughter accusations. No date has been set for the trial of Paiz and Pereyra, but proceedings are expected to begin soon. More Trending Speaking from his Buenos Aires jail cell in an interview with local outlet Infobae, Paiz denied selling cocaine to Payne, though he admitted to having shared drugs with the pop star. 'I don't know what I'm doing here, I'm a good person,' he said. 'I shared drugs with Liam but I didn't sell them.' The young waiter described himself as a longtime marijuana user and expressed regret over the connection he formed with Payne. 'I regret giving Liam my Instagram because everything spiralled from there,' he said. 'If I hadn't, I'd probably be working or studying today. I miss my freedom, my family, my mom, and my sisters.'
