Major Wildfire Breaks out Near Corinth, Greece
On Tuesday, huge wildfire broke out near Corinth, Greece, forcing authorities to issue evacuation orders for several villages.
According to authorities, more than 180 firefighters, 15 planes, and 12 helicopters are involved in battling the wildfires burning in the mountains near Corinth.
There have been no immediate reports of injuries.
Firefighting efforts were made especially difficult due to extreme weather conditions, with temperatures soaring to around 40°C (104°F) in many parts of the country.
Earlier on Tuesday, a firefighting helicopter crashed into the sea and sank while attempting to scoop up water to help extinguish a separate blaze near Athens. The three crew members were rescued and taken to the hospital.
Wildfires frequently occur in Greece during the hot, dry summer months. The fire department has responded to dozens of blazes across the country so far this year.

2 Dead After Floods Sweep Romania
Israa Farhan Severe overnight flooding in eastern Romania has claimed the lives of two people and forced hundreds to evacuate as helicopters continue searching for stranded villagers, officials confirmed on Monday. According to Romania's Emergency Response Agency, torrential rains and strong winds swept through nearly 25 towns across nine counties. The storms caused widespread damage, tearing off rooftops, uprooting trees, and disrupting traffic on major roads. The northeastern counties of Neamț and Suceava were among the hardest hit, where two rivers burst their banks. The flooding killed a 66-year-old man and forced hundreds of residents to flee their homes as rising waters surged through residential areas. Later in the day, authorities reported a second fatality, an 85-year-old woman who was swept away by the floodwaters. Emergency crews recovered her body using excavation tools from the bottom of a riverbed. Emergency teams remain deployed in affected areas, with helicopters and firefighters working to rescue isolated individuals and assess damage. The government has warned of continued heavy rainfall and is urging residents in vulnerable regions to remain alert. Romania has experienced increasingly extreme weather in recent years, raising concerns over climate resilience and the state of flood prevention infrastructure. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence"
