Traveller caught by CBSA carrying 18 kilos of cocaine in cheese cans

The Canadian Border Services Agency said officers arrested a traveller arriving from Jamaica who allegedly attempted to smuggle several kilos of cocaine.
CBSA said on Friday that the traveller had 18 kilos of cocaine stuffed in processed cheese cans.
The estimated street value of the drugs is worth more than $2 million.

The traveller was arrested in the Greater Toronto Area and the evidence, as well as the traveller, was turned over to RCMP in Ontario.

Officers worked with Washington State Park authorities and the U.S. Coast Guard Shiprider crew, pulling everyone to safety. 'This incident highlights the great teamwork between the RCMP Shiprider and USCG Shiprider,' RCMP Federal Policing- Pacific Region, Insp. Jim Leonard wrote in a statement. 'While rescue operations are not typically our primary role, our presence on the water allows us to respond when emergencies arise, reflecting our shared commitment to public safety.' Officials at the B.C. legislature confirm they are investigating an 'external security breach' that took place at the Parliament buildings. ‘Needle attacks' reported at music festival in Montreal, police investigating
Montreal police (SPVM) say they have launched an investigation following reports that several people at îLESONIQ music festival may have possibly been unknowingly drugged with an unknown substance after reportedly being stabbed with a needle. Investigators are working in collaboration with festival organizers and security personnel from Evenko, the event's promoter, as the investigation continues. This comes after French police arrested 12 suspects back in June after 145 people reported being stabbed with syringes during France's' Fête de la Musique in Paris leading to the hospitalization of more than a dozen young women. The SPVM says victims and witnesses are encouraged to contact 911 or their local police station if they haven't already done so.
