Coach Massimiliano Canzi spoke to the press after Juventus Women First Team's 3-1 loss against Fiorentina on Matchday 7 of the Women's Serie A Poule Scudetto.
MASSIMILIANO CANZI
'Motivation certainly plays a part, but it took us a long time to get into the match: we didn't approach the challenge badly, but in the first half Fiorentina deserved more than us. In the second half we played well, but we were unable to capitalise on our chances as we would have deserved: in the second 45 minutes we played with a 'Juventus' spirit, and I'm happy about this, unlike the first half of the match. Considerations that concern the whole team, regardless of who played and who didn't: the attitude once we returned to the field after half-time had clearly changed on all sides. Now we get ready to face the match at the Allianz Stadium in a fortnight in front of our fans, which will bring our league campaign to an end: we must be good at staying focused and playing the next 90 minutes at our best.'

Gasperini reignites Roma's interest in Gudmundsson

Roma are looking to boost their midfield ahead of next season. With the arrival of Gian Piero Gasperini on the bench, one of the club's priorities is to give the veteran coach a new attacking midfielder. Advertisement Among the names that have returned to the notebook of the Giallorossi club is that of Albert Gudmundsson. According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma have rekindled their interest in the Icelandic striker owned by Genoa, who has had an excellent season in Serie A. The player, who will not be signed permanently by Fiorentina, is considered a versatile option, capable of acting both as a second striker and as an offensive winger, as well as guaranteeing quality in the finishing and a strong propensity for scoring in the midfield. Genoa, aware of the growing interest around its number ten, have set a significant pricetag. Roma, for their part, are studying the margins for a possible operation, in light of the available budget and possible exits.

Al-Hilal have not given up on Osimhen despite 30m salary rejection

Al-Hilal have not given up on Osimhen despite 30m salary rejection Despite rejecting a reported €30m salary, Al-Hilal are ready to try again for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with Juventus waiting in the wings. The €75m release clause is valid only for clubs outside of Italy, so Juve would need to negotiate directly with the Partenopei, a very tricky proposition. Advertisement It seems unlikely that any figure could be enough to change his mind at this stage, but Al-Hilal believe they could still have an opportunity now there isn't the time pressure to get a deal done in time for the Club World Cup. Meanwhile, Galatasaray are pushing to make the move permanent after a successful loan spell, while Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are looking at different targets.

Reports suggest she has struggled to get involved internationally because of a lack of consistent game time at club level. Advertisement She has also had injury problems this season. In FourFourTwo's view she will miss out on the final squad. For Juventus, who won the Serie A title and the Italian Cup, she made 16 league appearances in the 2024/25 campaign. Of course the manager will have to cut seven names from that list with one already gone with Ramona Bachmann ruled out with injury. The final 23-player squad is set to be named in coming days with the major tournament beginning on 2 July. Switzerland play their first game on the opening day against Norway.
