Prime Video is losing an intense psychological thriller movie that'll twist your mind — but it's now streaming on Netflix instead
If you're anything like me, you've probably spent way too much time scrolling through streaming services looking for the perfect thriller. And thanks to the constant shuffle of titles between platforms, it's all-too-easy to miss out on some real gems. One of them includes 'Copycat,' a '90s psychological thriller that deserves way more love than it gets. Starring Sigourney Weaver and Holly Hunter, 'Copycat' is quietly one of the best thrillers of its era, and features one of Weaver's most gripping (and overlooked) performances. It's currently streaming on Prime Video, but not for much longer, as the movie is set to leave the platform on July 1. Thankfully, it's not vanishing entirely. You can also stream it on Netflix, where it recently climbed into the top 10, proof that viewers are rediscovering this underrated classic. Even if you've seen it before, 'Copycat' is absolutely worth revisiting. The suspense holds up beautifully, the performances are solid, and nearly 30 years on, it still knows how to get under your skin. So, here's everything to know about 'Copycat' and why you should add it to your Prime Video (or Netflix) watchlist. 'Copycat' follows Dr. Helen Hudson (Sigourney Weaver), a renowned criminal psychologist and expert on serial killers. After surviving a traumatic attack by one of her former subjects, Helen develops severe agoraphobia and becomes a recluse, confined to her high-tech San Francisco apartment. Her isolation is interrupted when a series of murders begin to surface, each one eerily replicating the methods of infamous serial killers from the past. The police, struggling to track the killer, enlist Helen's help. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Detective M.J. Monahan (Holly Hunter) and her partner Reuben Goetz (Dermot Mulroney) form a reluctant alliance with the reclusive psychologist, relying on her expertise to build a profile of the murderer. As Helen becomes more involved in the investigation, she discovers that the killer is not only mimicking historical murderers but also closely studying her work and life. The case grows increasingly personal, with the killer taunting Helen directly, drawing her out of her isolation and into a dangerous game of cat and mouse. There's a reason 'Copycat' keeps popping back into the streaming spotlight nearly 30 years after its release. It's just a really solid and confidently crafted thriller. No frills, no gimmicks, just clean, absorbing storytelling that locks in from the opening scene and steadily tightens its grip. Sigourney Weaver plays a criminal psychologist who's retreated from the world after a violent attack. We first meet her giving a lecture about serial killers, totally in control of the room, and then everything unravels. She's not Ripley here. She's not saving the world. She's anxious, terrified, and brilliant. And while 'Alien' will always be my favorite franchise ever (and her role as Ellen Ripley remains iconic), 'Copycat' deserves some love too. It's one of Weaver's most underrated performances, and somehow it's rarely mentioned when we talk about her best work. This thriller is essentially a slow-burn murder mystery that hits all the right notes. A new killer is on the loose, copying the signatures of infamous murderers from the past, and Helen is reluctantly pulled into the case. She's paired with Holly Hunter's rational detective (who's also excellent), and the dynamic between the two is half the fun. The screenplay, by first-time writer David Madsen and Ann Biderman, offers a clever twist, one that feels somewhat in step with the vibe of 'Seven.' The concept of a killer replicating real-life infamous murders is deeply unsettling, arguably even more so than using the seven deadly sins as a framework. And it's refreshing to see a crime thriller anchored by a female duo for a change, breaking away from the typical buddy-cop formula. 'Copycat' has plenty going for it, but it's not without its imperfections, of course. The premise of a murderer imitating well-known killers can feel a bit familiar, and at times, the plot's direction becomes fairly easy to predict. Beyond Weaver and Hunter's standout performances, the rest of the cast doesn't get a lot of development. This leaves much of the surrounding world feeling somewhat underwritten and less engaging than it could be. However, I'm confident that viewers will find 'Copycat' compelling, and despite its flaws, it's definitely worth a watch. This isn't an action-packed thriller, and it won't blow your mind. Instead, 'Copycat' aims to be thoughtful and tightly wound, which work perfectly when anchored by two brilliant performances. If you missed it the first time around (or just haven't revisited it in years), it's more than earned its spot back on your watchlist. As a reminder, 'Copycat' leaves Prime Video on July 1, so you still have time. Otherwise, you can stream it on Netflix right now.

'Watch this space': former EastEnders star hints at co-star's return after death
A former EastEnders actress has shared her thoughts on whether a co-star could return despite having been killed off offscreen in the soap. In 2018, Vincent, played by Richard Blackwood, it was implied that he was killed off but since his death wasn't shown, fans have wondered if he ever really died. Tameka Empson, who played Kim Fox until recently, seemed to hint at a possible return for Vincent, supporting the fan theory. Speaking to The Mirror, she said fans should 'watch this space' when she was asked if Vincent could possibly return. When asked about his return, Tameka said: 'Well where is he? And if he turns up he's got to turn up with something in his hands, cos it's been a long while now. 'We've cared for the children, out of house and everything. Watch this space people.' After reaching a dark turn, Vincent's drama with Aidan Maguire led to a mystery death and saw him leave the show seven years ago. He told the police everything he knew about the villain and planned to go into witness protection but his wife Kim was against the idea. Vincent didn't realise that the police officers he was talking to were corrupt and working for Maguire. They drove off with him in the car and pointed a gun at him. Fans were lead to believe that he had been killed but they never saw what happened after the car scene. A few years later, Vincent's wallet was found, further implying that he had died when it was returned by Howie Danes. Howie saw a murder take place and found the wallet at the crime scene with Kim distraught and believing it was likely Vincent that was killed. Fans seem sure that it could have been a fake death and that there is still some possibility that Vincent might return unscathed.

Beyond Paradise Season 4: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on June 23, 2025, 20:00 IST Last updated June 23, 2025, 16:54 IST Fans can't stop buzzing about Beyond Paradise Season 4 after Season 3's heartfelt finale in May 2025. This Death in Paradise spin-off keeps winning hearts with its oddball mysteries, tight-knit crew, and those lush Cornwall views. No official word from the BBC yet, but plenty of clues point to what's next. Here's the lowdown on when Season 4 might land, who's likely back, and what stories could unfold in Shipton Abbott. Is Beyond Paradise Season 4 Happening? The BBC hasn't spilled the beans on Season 4, but odds look good. Season 3 pulled in over 5 million viewers for its opener, a solid win. Producer Tim Key called it their 'strongest' run yet, and Zahra Ahmadi (DS Esther Williams) tossed out a cheeky hope for '14 seasons' with all the character potential left to mine. With Death in Paradise locked for a 15th season and Return to Paradise off and running, dropping Beyond Paradise would be a head-scratcher. Expect a green light soon, likely with a spring 2026 slot, tailing Death in Paradise . When Could Beyond Paradise Season 4 Hit Our Screens? No confirmed date, but past seasons give a hint: Season 1 kicked off February 24, 2023. Season 2 arrived March 22, 2024. Season 3 landed March 28, 2025. That points to March or April 2026 for Season 4. A Christmas special might pop up in December 2025, like in years past. Season 3 filmed from August 2024 and hit screens seven months later, so production could start summer 2025 for a spring launch. UK viewers will catch it on BBC One or iPlayer. For folks across the pond, BritBox or Amazon Prime should have episodes by April 2026. Who's Coming Back for Beyond Paradise Season 4? No cast announcements yet, but the Shipton Abbott crew is practically family at this point. Here's who we bet we'll see, based on Season 3's ending (spoiler alert for those not caught up): Kris Marshall as Humphrey Goodman as Humphrey Goodman Sally Bretton as Martha Lloyd as Martha Lloyd Zahra Ahmadi as Esther Williams as Esther Williams Dylan Llewellyn as Kelby Hartford as Kelby Hartford Felicity Montagu as Margo Martins as Margo Martins Barbara Flynn as Anne Lloyd as Anne Lloyd Jamie Bamber as Archie Hughes as Archie Hughes Melina Sinadinou as Zoe Williams as Zoe Williams Jade Harrison as CS Charlie Woods as CS Charlie Woods Bella Rei Blue Stevenson as Rosie What's the Plot for Beyond Paradise Season 4? Season 3 left us with plenty to chew on (spoilers ahead). Here's what might unfold: Humphrey and Martha's Next Chapter: Their fostering journey hit some bumps, but they're solid as ever. Season 4 could show them navigating life with Rosie or new foster kids, juggling love and work. Sally Bretton says fans want their 'fun, loving' dynamic, not soap opera drama, so expect warm fuzzies with a side of chaos. Archie's Drama: Martha's ex caused a stir in Season 3. Will he keep meddling, or will his story wrap up? Some fans think Humphrey's quirky enough without this love triangle. Esther's Love Life: A surprise encounter in Season 3 hinted at her past. We might learn more about her late husband or Zoe's dad. Kelby's Rise: The young PC's finding his feet, making unlikely pals. Maybe he'll take on bigger cases or face personal hurdles. Fresh Cases: Beyond Paradise keeps murders light, focusing on oddball crimes like poisonings or rural feuds. Season 4 will likely serve up more clever whodunits with that laugh-cry-laugh vibe Tim Key loves. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication .
