Beats Solo 4 just fell to lowest price ever at Amazon — just $99
The Beats Solo 4 headphones already offered an awful lot of value at their full retail price, so the fact they've dropped by 50% is worth taking note of.
Right now, you can grab the Beat Solo 4 for just $99 at Amazon in a limited time deal. That brings them down to the lowest price I've seen for these headphones. At under $100, these are a solid recommendation for anyone looking for a reliable and solid-sounding set of cans. Headphone deals: Walmart | Best Buy | Amazon
The Beats Solo 4 don't feature noise canceling but they've inherited sound quality and comfortable design from their bigger cousin, the Beats Studio Pro. I personally own a pair of Beats Solo 3 headphones and they've been my go-to gym companions for years now.
When my colleague Kate reviewed the Beats Solo 4 last year, she praised the 50 hours of battery life. That tracks with my own experience of these headphones' predecessors. I routinely go several days between using mine but every time I pick them up, they've still got battery life to spare.
You can use these wirelessly — whether you're on Android or iOS — but the sound quality improves even further if you do plug in a wire. That's because these headphones support hi-res audio over a 3.5mm connection. If you're an Apple Music or Amazon Music Unlimited subscriber you can therefore take advantage of top-tier audio.
While the Beats Solo 4 plays nice with Android, iPhone users will get even more out of these headphones. Pairing happens seamlessly and iPhone owners will be able to use Audio Sharing (when playback can be shared with another pair of Beats or AirPods) and Siri.
But regardless whether you're team Android or team Apple, the Beats Solo 4 are a comfortable and well-designed pair of headphones that offer a ludicrous amount of value for money at this price. This is a limited time deal, so I'm not sure how long Amazon will keep the price this low — but the good news is the discount cuts right across the four different color options. So whether you want Slate Blue or Cloud Pink, you're going to save money.

Subway hires president of North America
This story was originally published on Restaurant Dive. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily Restaurant Dive newsletter. Name: Damien Harmon New title: President of North America, Subway Previous title: Senior executive vice president of customer, channel experiences and enterprise services, Best Buy Harmon has over 20 years of experience in operations, retail and customer experience, Subway said in a press release. In his new role, he will help accelerate sustainable growth, drive franchisee profitability and improve the guest experience across North America. His appointment was part of a move to bring in new leadership across various regions. Those appointments included Tracy Gehlan as president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Artemio Garza as president of Latin America and Caribbean. The hirings also come roughly a month after the chain brought on Jonathan Fitzpatrick as its newest CEO. 'We've brought together a group of strong, experienced leaders who believe in Subway's vision and are committed to partnering with our franchisees and employees to take this brand to the next level,' Fitzpatrick said in a statement. In his most recent role at Best Buy, Harmon oversaw store and services teams and 'championed initiatives that drove employee engagement, increased and strengthened long-term customer relationships, and delivered consistent, industry-leading results for the company,' the press release said. Harmon has also served in various positions at Bridgestone Americas. Harmon will likely oversee ongoing remodels across the U.S. system. Subway is providing rebates to franchisees as a way to reinvest in the operators' business, according to Restaurant Business. These rebates are about 10% of a franchisees' average weekly sales for the first half of this year. 'We have rolled out a special reinvestment program for U.S. franchisees,' a Subway spokesperson said in an email about the reinvestment program. 'Franchisee profitability is a top priority. With a new leadership team in place, we are exploring several initiatives focused on supporting our franchises, creating long-term sustainable growth, and helping to increase profitability.' A focus on franchisee profitability could help slow down ongoing closures across the U.S. system. The company closed 631 units last year, according to its franchise disclosure document. That follows 443 closures in 2023 and 571 in 2022. Average unit volumes are among the lowest in the industry at roughly $490,000, according to Restaurant Business. Why Walmart Stock Sank Today
Key Points Walmart reported its Q2 earnings, showing tariffs are impacting its bottom line. Sales were up, however, including same-store sales, a critical measure. 10 stocks we like better than Walmart › Shares of Walmart (NYSE: WMT) fell 4.9% Thursday. The drop came as the S&P 500 lost 0.5% and the Nasdaq Composite lost 0.4% as investors await Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's speech tomorrow. The retail giant reported its second-quarter earnings, which were somewhat mixed. The company delivered solid sales growth but missed on earnings. Walmart expects tariffs to continue to impact earnings Walmart's revenue exceeded expectations at $177.4 billion, but earnings per share (EPS) were $0.68, well below the $0.74 per share consensus. The company cited tariffs as the primary challenge, as well as some legal charges and restructuring costs. Still, tariffs and discounts are cutting into its margins from either end. It expects this to continue. CFO John David Rainey said the company was doing its best to take on the rising prices rather than passing them to the consumer, saying, "There are certainly areas where we have fully absorbed the impact of higher tariff costs. There are other areas where we've had to pass some of those costs along." Same-store sales were up The top-line growth was a welcome sight for investors despite the margin and earnings impact. The key metric of comparable sales for Walmart in the U.S. ticked up 4.6% year over year, meaning overall sales growth is largely organic and not just driven by opening new stores. While some investors were spooked, I think Walmart remains a cash-flow powerhouse and consumer staple. This is a solid addition to any portfolio. Should you buy stock in Walmart right now?
