Mumbai, May 29 (UNI) NSE Academy Limited (NAL), a subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd., has made a partnership with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA, the largest and widely respected global associations dedicated to advancing the management accounting profession, ushering a new era of management accounting education in India.

This partnership aims to address the increasing talent demand and emerging career opportunities in the domain of finance and accounting, fulfilling the skills gap and providing top-tier education and certifications to organizations and universities in India. CEO, Abhilash Misra said in a release on Thursday.
NAL and IMA will now jointly offer certifications and training programs focusing on modern skills for management accounting professionals. As part of the workforce readiness and workforce development initiative of NSE Academy, this initiative aims to build a talent pipeline equipped with specialized knowledge in management accounting through globally-recognized IMA certifications.
NAL and IMA will introduce pathway programs for accounting professionals and aspirants, seamlessly integrating IMA certifications including, CSCA (Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis), IMA Sustainability Business Practices Certificate and the IMA FMAA (Financial and Managerial Accounting Associate), it added.

Kolkata, June 9 (UNI) Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on Monday reported a 13.79 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase in group premium for May 2025. According to data released by the Life Insurance Council, group premiums grew 13.66% for the first two months of fiscal 2026. In May 2025, LIC collected Rs14,374.87 crore in group premiums, up from Rs12,632.26 crore in May 2024. The new business premium grew 10.27 pc from Rs 16,690.39 crore for May 2024 to Rs 18,405.04 crore for May 2025. The overall life insurance industry garnered Rs30,463.20 crore, marking a 12.68 pc rise over Rs 27,034.14 crore collected in the same month last year. In the Individual Premium category, the insurance behemoth posted a decline of 0.69 pc, collecting Rs 4,030.17 crore in May 2025 compared to Rs 4,058.13 crore in May 2024. During May 2025, total policies issued by LIC fell to 10.68 lakh from 12.51 lakh in the same period last year. While individual policies numbered 10.67 lakh for May 2025 from 12.48 lakh policies forMay 2024, group policies declined to 1,389 in May 2025 from 2,279 for May 2024. Total premium collected by the company for April-May 2025, went up to Rs 32,015.68 crore from Rs 29,074.03 crore for the same months last year. The individual premium segment showed a slight decrease to Rs 7,191.04 crore, compared to Rs 7,233.61 crore in the same period last year. The group premium segment amounted to Rs 24,824.64 crore for April-May 2025, from Rs 21,840.42 crore in the previous year. LIC issued a total of 17.94 lakh policies for April-May 2025, a drop from 21.07 lakh policies in the same period last year. Policies for the Individual category also declined to 17.91 lakh in April-May 2025, from 21.03 lakh in April-May 2024. Continuing with the trend, group policies went down to 2,558 in April-May 2025 from 3,704 policies in April-May 2024. LIC reported a robust 38 pc YoY growth in Q4FY25 consolidated net profit, reaching Rs 19,039 crore, and announced a final dividend of Rs 12 per share. While net premium income saw a slight dip, the full financial year witnessed an 18% increase in PAT to Rs 48,151 crore. A bonus of Rs 56,190.24 crore was declared to policyholders, demonstrating the company's continued commitment to delivering value. Value of New Business (VNB) rose by 4.47 percent year-on-year to Rs 10,011 crore, with VNB margin (net) expanding by 80 basis points to 17.6 percent. The share of Non-Par Annualised Premium Equivalent (APE) within the individual business grew by 937 basis points year-on-year to 27.69 percent, while Non-Par APE itself surged by 50.28 percent year-on-year to Rs 10,581 crore. Shiprocket to set up three more dark stores in India in next 3-6 months

Hyderabad, June 9 (UNI) Shiprocket, India's leading eCommerce enablement platform, on Monday announced it will set up three more dark stores in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata in the next 3-6 months in the country for quick delivery. Already existed three dark stores in the country – Delhi, Mumbai and Bengalur and the centres will offer a comprehensive suite of services to support e-commerce businesses, including solutions for fulfilling online orders, managing inventory, and optimizing delivery logistics, said Shiprocket CEO (Domestic Shipping) Atul Mehta on the occasion of hosting shiprocket Yatra 2025 here to empower MSME merchants in the region. Shiprocket recently filed a pre-filed draft red herring prospectus (pre-DRHP) with market regulator Sebi, marking the logistics tech company's formal step toward a public listing. Shiprocket, incorporated as Bigfoot Retail Solutions and headquartered in Delhi NCR, has not disclosed the size of the proposed issue in the public advertisement. Backed by investors including Zomato and Temasek, Shiprocket provides end-to-end shipping and fulfilment solutions to direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands and independent merchants, a segment that currently generates 70-80% of its revenues. Dark stores which are mostly in metro cities, essentially micro-fulfillment centers, are a key component of the quick commerce landscape, and Shiprocket provides the tools and infrastructure to enable their efficient operation, he informed. Each store measures 3,000 sq. ft and the company also has 32 shared warehouses (each warehouse measuring over 1.5 lakh sq. ft , measuring across the country, he said. Of the total 3 lakh plus sellers across the country, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have emerged as strategic markets for Shiprocket, with around 18,000 sellers from these states onboarded to the platform to date, Atul said that these sellers have collectively contributed to over 2 crore shipments, demonstrating the region's strong digital adoption and entrepreneurial agility. In FY25 alone, shipment volumes from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh reached around 35 lakh+ shipments, marking a robust year-on-year growth of around 25 per cent, he said. Shiprocket Yatra brought together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and innovators to discuss how MSMEs can leverage eCommerce enablement to unlock domestic and global growth opportunities, he said. 'MSMEs in India often face significant challenges at every stage of their eCommerce journey, from digital onboarding and order fulfilment to customer experience and scalability. Hyderabad, June 9 (UNI) Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, participated in a direct interaction programme with farmers at Mangalapalli in Rangareddy Rural district as part of the ongoing Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan. Addressing the gathering, the Minister underscored the importance of agricultural self-sufficiency in realising the dream of a developed India. 'For the dream of a developed India to come true, there must be developed work—meaning self-sufficiency in agriculture,' he said. Highlighting the record-level food grain production this year, he credited the resilience and hard work of Indian farmers and emphasided that Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan was launched with a vision to ensure long-term sustainability and prosperity in farming. Chouhan stressed that agriculture cannot be managed solely from offices and research institutes. 'Our government reaches wherever agriculture happens—wherever farmers innovate and cultivate. We aim to solve problems by connecting directly with farmers at the field level,' he added. He affirmed the Centre's commitment to supporting farmers not only in cultivation but also in marketing their produce. 'Agriculture is not just about vegetables and grains, but also includes avenues like beekeeping which can enhance farmers' incomes,' he said. During the event, the Telangana Farmers' Union, on behalf of the BJP Kisan Morcha, presented a symbolic plough to the Minister as a mark of respect. He was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagiratha Choudhary, who was also warmly welcomed by the Kisan Morcha.
