Everything You Need to Know About Bigg Boss 19
Recently, the makers of Bigg Boss 19 unveiled the first promo of the show featuring host and actor Salman Khan. In the clip, he is seen portraying a politician and donning a traditional outfit, promising a theme centred around politics.
Bigg Boss 19 will feature 15 contestants when it kicks off, with three wild cards joining later. Some past contestants may also make surprise returns.
The start date has been pushed ahead, with Salman Khan now scheduled to shoot on August 22 and 23. The show was originally expected to premiere on August 30, but the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities from August 27 led to a reschedule.
The season's theme is rooted in politics, and here's how it will unfold: contestants will be split into two groups — the ruling party and the opposition. The division will reportedly happen live on stage with Salman Khan during the grand premiere. Each week, both sides will nominate one person from their own camp to run for 'leader" of the house. The winner, chosen by a ballot vote, will be the week's sarkaar.
There have been several names making it to the list of rumoured participants. These names include Aamir Ali, Mugdha Chapekar, Chandni Sharma, Niyati Fatnani, Amaal Mallik, Jannat Zubair, Rati Pandey, Dhanashree Verma, Apoorva Mukhija, and Gaurav Khanna, among others.

Indian Man Explains Why He Loves Living In Canada: ‘Sab Rules Follow Karte Hai Yaha'

Last Updated: An Indian content creator living in the North American country shared the number of things he loves about Canada and why he doesn't wish to return anytime soon. An Indian man living in Canada shared a viral post, explaining why he cherishes his life in the North American country and doesn't want to return to India. Sahil Narang, a content creator, posted a video highlighting the benefits of living in Canada with a Hindi voice-over. Narang spoke about the number of facilities offered to the residents by the Canadian government, including minimum wage and job security. 'These are the main reasons I absolutely love living in Canada and why I'm still not ready to leave this country," said Narang as he introduced himself in the video captioned 'Why I love living in this Country". 'Hi, my name is Sahil, and I have been living in Canada for more than three years. In Canada, every province has its minimum wage. No matter what job you do, you are guaranteed to earn at least that amount. And trust me, if you're talented and have solid experience in a good field, you can end up earning a great deal here." The content creator also made it a point to share how even the privileged lot of Canadian society follows the rules and regulations put in place by the authorities. 'Here, everyone follows the rules, regardless of whether you're rich or poor. The best part is that there is no enforcement to make people follow them; they choose to follow the rules on their own," Narang said. Further on life in Canada, the content creator spoke about the beauty of the country and how the festivities organised by the government give residents plenty to look forward to regularly. 'Canada is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. The government does a lot for its residents, organising so many festivals that they truly make you feel at home," he said. 'Every day, every week, every month, there is always something happening, whether it is snowing heavily, scorching hot, or anything in between. This country never stops. If you're doing well and earning well, you will experience the best days of your life here." What the Internet Said About Indian's Love Affair With Canada The clip shared over Instagram garnered the attention of users from India, who promptly commented beneath it. While some expressed their envy of the man, others were not so amused at the idea of him choosing another country above India and its cultural heritage. 'Job dilwado phir jara mujhe bhi (please get me a job there as well)," wrote one user. Another commented: 'At least something positive on my feed for Canada. Nice." A nationalist said, 'Bhai apne India ko explore karo (brother, please explore India), Indian culture is the best." Colin Farrell to be honoured with Golden Icon award at 2025 Zurich Film Festival

London, Aug 11 (PTI) Oscar-nominated actor Colin Farrell is set to be felicitated with the Golden Icon Award at the 20th edition of the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF), to be held from September 25 to October 5, the organisers announced on Monday. The Irish actor, best known for films such as 'Miami Vice", 'Minority Report", 'In Bruges", 'The Batman", 'The Lobster", 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer" and 'The Banshees of Inisherin", will receive the award at a gala event on September 27, where he will present his latest film 'Ballad of a Small Player". Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Edward Berger, the film is based on author Lawrence Osborne's 2014 novel and follows the story of a high-stakes gambler in Macau whose past and debts start to catch up with him. Whilst laying low, he encounters a kindred spirit who might just hold the key to his salvation. Farrell will also participate in a ZFF Masters session on September 28, a press release stated. Festival director Christian Jungen described Farrell as 'one of the most passionate and charismatic character actors in auteur cinema". 'He's just as convincing as a villain as he is a romantic lead, or in complex roles that fall somewhere in between—like in Edward Berger's irresistible tragicomedy 'Ballad of a Small Player', where Colin captivates us as a roguish gambler and makes us root for his character. 'Colin Farrell has already worked with many great filmmakers, but under Edward Berger's direction, he truly reaches new heights. He carries the film from beginning to end and takes us on an emotional roller coaster that makes us laugh, cry, and marvel," he added. 'I'm beyond excited to walk its streets, drink its coffee and move amongst its people. It's both generous and humbling to have my years of making film recognised by such a storied festival, one that champions film from all corners of the globe. 'It will be an absolute pleasure to visit later this year and we are thrilled to be bringing 'Ballad of a Small Player' to audiences there," he added. Previous recipients of the Golden Icon Award include Kate Winslet, Jessica Chastain, Hugh Jackman, Cate Blanchett and Hugh Grant. 'Ballad of a Small Player" marks Berger's third consecutive film to be screened at ZFF, following 'All Quiet on the Western Front" and 'Conclave".
