Parents-of-22 Sue and Noel Radford in family adoption drama which ends in hospital dash over worrying ‘stroke' fears
MILLIE Radford is left shaken when husband Harley Passmore is rushed to hospital with a suspected stroke in this week's episode of 22 Kids and Counting. The mum-of-three, who wed Harley in a £9k ceremony last year, reveals how they had been going through a stressful patch over whether or not he should adopt Ophelia. 9 9 Harley started dating Millie when she was pregnant with Ophelia, and has raised her as his own ever since, with the biological dad not on the scene. In the show, Harley is desperate to legally adopt the four-year-old girl, who he helps raise along his and Millie's kids, Chester, three, and Elodie, one. He says: 'Obviously Millie did have Ophelia when we first met. 'I have been in Ophelia's life since she was six months old. 'Obviously, she's not my biological daughter, but I do treat Ophelia like she's my own. 'I do want people to look at me and Ophelia like 'oh they're father and daughter.' 'Ophelia doesn't have the same name - Millie, does, Chester does, Elodie does. 'Felt like, well, we can't leave Ophelia there out, and when she gets a bit older, she'll start understanding, like, why is my name different to Chester and Elodie's and mummy's and daddy's?' But raising the idea of adopting Ophelia has caused friction with Millie. The 23-year-old says: 'I've been worried for Ophelia. Britain's biggest family gets even bigger as Millie Radford reveals 'surprise new addition' to her brood 'I'm worried just because we haven't told Ophelia that Harley isn't actually her biological dad. 'Ophelia is only four, and it's a lot to handle and cope with at such a young age.' Later in the show she adds that she also has another big concern about it. She explains: 'I think the worry was that it can turn a lot of hatred towards Harley from Ophelia when she finds out that Harley isn't actually her biological dad and she has another dad.' 9 HOSPITAL VISIT Disagreements come to a head when Millie and Harley have a blazing row, followed by him being rushed to hospital in an ambulance in the morning. A panicked Millie could be heard phoning mum-of-22 Sue Radford, saying: 'I'm in an ambulance with Harley. 'One half of his face has all gone lopsided. 'It looks like he's had a stroke. He's slurring his words. 'He's really panicking, I'm panicking.' 9 9 Sue and Noel bring the three kids to their 10-bedroom Morecambe house, while Millie keeps Harley company in the stroke ward in hospital, admitting she is in 'shock' from the 'scary' ordeal. She adds: 'I felt guilty straight away wondering if it was arguing that had caused it. 'If something happened to him how would I feel then? 'I've pretty much done my whole motherhood with Harley, I can't imagine him not there.' After a nail-biting night on the ward waiting for results, Harley is told he hasn't had a stroke, but has got Bell's Palsy. Bell's Palsy is a neurological disorder that causes paralysis or weakness on one side of the face. He says: 'They came in with my results, my MRI results were totally fine which means I didn't have a stroke.' ADOPTION DECISION Following Harley's stressful stint in hospital, a 'relieved' Millie decides to rethink Harley adopting her daughter. She says: 'When I thought Harley was having a stroke, it was really scary. 9 9 9 'He was worried as well, and I was worried because of the paralysis side of it. 'What if he would never have been able to cope with the three kids again after that, or handle his life before that? 'I'm filling in the forms for the process of Harley adopting Ophelia. 'It's made me change my mind, because if anything was to happen to Harley, I know that Ophelia would have loved Harley to be her dad, so that is what I'm going to make happen.' FAMILY CONCERNS However, after some research, the process proves to be trickier than they had first anticipated. This is despite the biological father's name not being on Ophelia's birth certificate as he 'wasn't interested' in being a dad. Speaking of their adoption hurdles, Harley says: 'It's a lot harder work than we thought it would'. Millie adds: 'If we went down the adoption route we'd have to get in touch with Ophelia's biological dad.' Harley shared: 'He could just say no, 'I don't want you to adopt her.'' Millie also confesses that if they got in touch with the dad, he may want to be in Ophelia's life now which would be 'a lot' for the young girl.' In the end, they decide to go down the route of Harley applying for step parental responsibility agreement, which means he would have the same rights in terms of decision making. How many people are in the Radford family? Sue and Noel Radford have 22 children and 11 grandchildren. Harley initially seems overjoyed, celebrating with Noel, Sue and the family on the beach with some drinks and some fish and chips. However, at the end, he hints that he is still keen to adopt Ophelia, and even texts the young girl's biological father behind Millie's back. He says: 'Even though I have the rights, I do want it on Ophelia's birth certificate to say I'm her father. 'I've just messaged Ophelia's biological father. 'I can't help the way that I feel, I've put four years into Ophelia's life.' The Radfords are Britain's biggest family and star in Channel 5's 22 Kids and Counting, which airs on Sunday night at 8pm. Millie Radford's relationship timeline Millie is the seventh child and third daughter of parents-of-22 Sue and Noel Radford. She shot to fame when the family landed their own Channel 5 show, 22 Kids and Counting, in 2018. Millie got pregnant for the first time aged 18, and welcomed daughter Ophelia into the world in September 2020. Millie is no longer with Ophelia's father, whose identity remains a secret, as they broke up not long after she got pregnant. The reality star opened up about her relationship with him and said: "He just wasn't happy to step up and be a dad so he's never been named." On February 20, 2022, she welcomed her second child, a son called Chester. Millie kept her pregnancy secret until her due date and in March 2022, she opened up about Chester's birth in a question time "catch up" on her Instagram stories. She also identified Chester's dad for the first time, revealing he was her secret boyfriend Harley Passmore. In May 2023, Millie revealed she was expecting another child with her partner. Her baby, a daughter named Elodie Jade, was born in September 2023. In April 2024, Millie excitedly told fans Harley had asked her to marry him during a trip to Disneyland in Florida.

Should you spend £49 on these bamboo leggings?
What's the story? Daily Mail journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission - learn more Following YOU's recent report on the potentially harmful substances found in sports bras, and US magazine The Cut asking: 'Are your favourite workout leggings full of toxic chemicals?', we've never been more motivated to seek out natural activewear. Enter Bam, a clothing brand that uses fabric created largely from bamboo. Founder David Gordon became an early adopter of the high-performance material after a trip to China in 2006. He started the company in his garage, selling T-shirts made of bamboo viscose; since then it has expanded to sell a wide range of fitness wear. What's the science? The process of turning bamboo into a fabric (bamboo viscose) uses chemicals, which is why some people have questioned just how saintly bamboo clothing actually is. Bam says it only works with manufacturers who handle chemicals responsibly and invest in technology to improve the situation further. Finding a fabric that has no chemical footprint at all is tricky; while bamboo viscose is certainly more sustainable than synthetic fabrics, we can't yet say it's a toxin-free clothing option. Enduro sculpting leggings £49 Shop What's the benefit? Sixty-nine per cent of all textiles are synthetics made from crude oil; against this context bamboo stands out as a more sustainable choice. The plant is fast-growing and absorbs five times more carbon than hardwood trees. It needs half the land that cotton does to produce the same amount of fibre, requires little water to grow and no pesticides. What's the verdict? When we tried them, Bam leggings felt soft and lightweight, and weren't see-through when we adopted the downward-facing dog (they promise to 'stay opaque in the deepest squat'). We love the supportive waistband to keep everything tucked in. Plus, they have every jogger's favourite feature: a handy back pocket for your keys. Black is the bestselling colour, but there are eight others to choose from, too. Our rating

Celebrity SAS star reveals the show's ‘greatest ever escape' went unaired and left Ant Middleton fuming
A CELEBRITY SAS: Who Dares Wins star has revealed the show's "greatest ever escape" which went unaired and left Ant Middleton fuming. The Channel 4 show is not for the fainthearted and sees 14 famous faces trying to keep up with almost impossible tasks. 5 5 5 Celebrity SAS sees former Special Forces members put the celebrity contestants through their paces in an intense training camp. Ant, who was axed from the UK's SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2021, was well known for his tough persona on the show. Now a former celebrity contestant has spilled the beans on an unaired scene that infuriated Ant so much he inflicted a harsh punishment on him. Rugby ace Sam Burgess took part in the Australian version of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins two years ago, which Ant joined after he was axed from the UK show. The sportsman revealed that he was told he performed the "best escape they had ever seen on the show", but how it was never aired Spilling the beans, Sam told The Overlap and Betfair's Stick to Cricket show: 'When I did Celebrity SAS, it was a 15-day course. 20 start and only a few finish it. "By day 12, you're sleep deprived, food deprived, freezing. They'd taught us: if you're captured, try to escape - transport is your best chance. 'We get ambushed, hooded, zip-tied, thrown in stress positions. After two hours, we're loaded into a minibus. "I pop my restraints, peek under the hood and I see one driver, one cameraman, one soldier, no guns. I think I can take these guys." Celebrity SAS star axed after 'lying and cheating' on show - as another quits Continuing, he said: 'I waited for my moment, ripped the soldier's comms off, threw his phone out, choked the driver, 'Pull the f***ing van over now.' He's silent, so I start tugging the wheel. "Told another contestant to pull the handbrake and take the keys. We screech to a stop, throw them out, and I drive off with the others. 'We're free - driving around for 40 minutes - I even thought about going to KFC. Eventually I spot a pub, pull in. Fifteen minutes later, we are surrounded by cars." He the said that Ant wan't happy about his actions, and bestowed a harsh punishment on him. 5 "Ant Middleton gets on the bus, they absolutely flog us for 12 hours - tied up, thrown in shipping containers," Sam revealed. "Two contestants quit. None of it ever aired, but they told me it was the best escape they'd had.' Ant spent years fighting for his country during his military career in the Marines and the Paras. He was chief instructor on SAS: Who Dares Wins before he was sacked after a series of blunders. One included a tweet about the Black Lives Matter movement. There was a social media backlash in June 2020 after Ant posted a video of violence at anti-racism protests in London. He tweeted: 'The extreme left against the extreme right. "BLM and EDL are not welcome on our streets, absolute scum. "What a great example you are to your future generation. Bravo." The same month, Channel 4 set out a "new and clear commitment" to being an anti-racist organisation and said Ant's tweet 'in no way represent the views of Channel 4'. Discussing what happened for him to lose his job, he told The James Smith podcast: 'Witch hunt? I never thought that existed until the latest shenanigans with SAS UK. 'Ultimately people can see through it and know I was pushed before I could jump.' Speaking about the BLM tweet, Ant also defended himself at the time, telling The Sun: 'If you have half a brain cell you will realise what I was talking about. 'It was the protesters fighting and violence and rioting in broad daylight. Everything I fought for abroad to stop happening on our shores.' Meanwhile, the latest series of the UK's Celebrity SAS has been full of drama. In the first episode, two stars quit, before Love Islanders Chloe Burrows and Tasha Ghouri followed suit in the second instalment. While none of the celebrities handed in their armbands in the latest episode there was still a double exit. The Traitors star Harry Clark was given his marching orders by the furious staff. It came after they noticed he was cutting corners and not pulling his weight. His actions seemed to contribute to former footballer's Adebayo 'The Beast' Akinfenwa's decision to quit, after he shouldered much of the weight of the dinghy Harry's team was trying to transport in a race. With his bad knee flaring up, Adebayo ran out of steam due to the pain and was forced to withdraw when he couldn't continue.
