Over 70,000 visitors attend MADANI Rakyat Programme in Terengganu
The Ministry of Works (KKR) in a statement today said the programme successfully achieved its objective of bringing government services and initiatives closer to the grassroots.
'All the feedback and suggestions received throughout the programme are highly valuable in enhancing the quality of government service delivery towards a progressive Malaysia grounded in MADANI values.
'As the lead ministry, KKR extends its appreciation to all parties across federal and state ministries and agencies, private companies, entrepreneurs and the people of Terengganu for their participation and support in making the event a success,' the statement read.
Organised in collaboration with the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister's Department (ICU JPM) and the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU), the programme, themed 'MADANI Development, Prosperous People', reflected the Government's effort to build inclusive physical development through roads, bridges and public facilities.
At the same time, it strengthened the human values that underpin the MADANI ethos, promoting an ethical, caring and responsible citizenry in advancing shared national development.
Among the key activities held throughout the event were exhibitions by federal and state government agencies, the MADANI Sales programme, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) traffic payment counters, health screenings, job matching opportunities, and a free helmet exchange initiative by the Road Transport Department (JPJ). - Bernama

Visitors can enjoy free helmet exchanges, discounted traffic summons, MADANI Rahmah Sales, and traditional Kelantanese food at the Selera Timur Food Festival. Free health screenings, business consultations, and grant information are also available through various government agencies. Developer after PM's rebuke: We followed the book, 8 schools already nearby
KUALA LUMPUR: The developer of the government's affordable housing project in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras, says the development had obtained the necessary approvals and complied with all regulatory requirements — including access to public amenities such as schools. Danau Lumayan Sdn Bhd said eight schools had been identified within the surrounding area, with at least one located within walking distance of the project site. "Construction for the 3,438-unit development began earlier this year following approval that was granted well before the introduction of the current Madani policy framework," said its managing director Shahril Reza Shaheen. "The project had commenced on the ground earlier this year." This comes in response to remarks by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim earlier today during the project's groundbreaking ceremony, where he questioned the absence of provisions for school facilities within the development itself. Anwar had suggested that if there were no schools nearby, the developer should take one of the housing blocks and convert it into a vertical school. The housing project, Residensi Wilayah Aman Lumayan, Shahril added, had adhered to all existing planning guidelines and requirements at the time of approval, taking into account the proximity of schools and pre-schools. "This is a project jointly developed with DBKL (Kuala Lumpur City Hall). All compliance matters — from education facilities to clinics — were reviewed and met based on what was required. "If you're talking about the necessity of having more schools, more classrooms too, there's always a requirement for us to either expand or build a new school. "In terms of all the guidelines that have been set by DBKL and other authorities, we have compiled and, like, the other things like a pre-school— we have already complied. "And the requirement for a clinic (if there's a clinic nearby), there is actually a clinic just 50m across from the development. "But whether or not we need another clinic inside the (housing) area, that is what we need to review. "We can sit down and explore (with DBKL and authorities), but we have already gone through all the checklists, and we comply with whatever requirements for us to build this development. "There's no issue of an oversight here, not at all," he said. The developer has since met with DBKL officials to discuss the concerns raised by the prime minister and is currently conducting a feasibility study to explore whether a school can be incorporated either within or adjacent to the site. The company is expected to present its proposals to the prime minister by Monday, outlining several potential options to make improvements and meet the community's future needs. "We take the prime minister's concerns seriously and are studying the possibility of building a school as part of the development's next phase," Shahril added.

MADANI principles guide large-scale housing projects in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: All large-scale housing developments in Malaysia must be guided by the MADANI principles, with particular emphasis on providing essential public infrastructure, including educational facilities, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today. He said that any housing project comprising 3,500 residential units or more must include access to schools, public transport, healthcare facilities, and small business spaces for hawkers. 'I urge serious attention to this. Every project must align with the MADANI principles. If there's a school nearby, parents earning RM3,000 monthly wouldn't need to spend RM300 to RM400 just to send their children to school. This not only reduces transportation costs but also enhances the safety of their children. 'This is what it means to be truly concerned about the people's problems. If a project lacks an education component, say in the case of high-rise housing, developers should allocate several blocks to build vertical schools with dedicated lifts. 'The development cost of these schools would be relatively low, and the Ministry of Education will bear that portion,' Anwar said at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Residensi Aman MADANI project in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, here today. Also present were the Prime Minister's wife and Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, and Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif. Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, also directed all relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, city mayors, city and municipal councils, and all related departments, to closely monitor all housing projects in their areas to ensure full compliance with the MADANI concept. He further emphasised the need for developers to expedite construction to prevent undue hardship for homebuyers. 'Some housing projects have remained unfinished for eight years due to poor planning that failed to consider critical factors. These delays often become politicised.
