Andy Murray and wife Kim's new net worth emerges after losing huge sum in hotel

Murray has accumulated a huge net worth on and off the court
Sir Andy Murray has been named as one of Britain's richest sportspeople in the newly released Sunday Times Rich List 2025..
The former tennis ace - who brought the curtain down on his playing career at last year's Paris Olympics - features in the '40 Under 40' list, which details the wealthiest people in the UK under the age of 40. His staggering net worth of £110 million puts him joint 35th on that list, with his wealth rising by £10 million over the last year.

Murray's huge fortune is hardly surprising, having banked close to £52 million in winnings over the course of his playing career, in which he won three major titles as well as two OIympic gold medals.

Over the years, he has also signed lucrative endorsement and sponsorship deals with big names like Jaguar, Castore, Under Armour and Head and collaborated with other brands including Amazon Prime Video, Standard Life, and American Express, to give his huge net worth a further boost.
However, it is not only through his tennis career that Murray has made his fortune, having worked closely with his wife Kim to make a number of savvy business decisions in recent years.
Together, they own the stunning five-star Cromlix House hotel near the tennis star's hometown of Dunblane in Scotland, where they held their wedding reception in 2015 after getting married at the town's cathedral.

The couple had purchased the hotel two years earlier for a reported sum of £1.8 million, with Murray's brother Jamie also getting married at the venue and his grandparents previously celebrating their wedding anniversaries there.
The luxury hotel, which sits in 34 acres of private grounds and woodland, has 10 bedrooms, five suites and a one bedroom lodge, as well as its own private chapel, tennis court, pickleball court and a restaurant run by an award-winning chef.
It was built as a Victorian mansion and passed down the generations of the Drummond family, while it was run by a management firm until December 2022, when the Murrays announced they were going to take over the running the venue.

The hotel has since undergone extensive refurbishmen to become one of the most sought-after luxury venues in Scotland, with room prices tending to range from between £350 to £950 per night, according to KAYAK.
While Murray has been busy wrapping up his tennis career and taking a shock short-term role on Novak Djokovic's coaching team, Kim has been hailed as the "creative force" behind the hotel venture and has taken a very active role in shaping the look and feel of the venue.
While she has no formal training in interior design, according to an interview with Country Living magazine, she previously considered enrolling at art college, while she also ran a pet portrait business called Brushes and Paws.

'We'd finished having children and we'd finished building our house, so it seemed the perfect time," she told the publication as she opened up on the challenges of running the hotel. "Having little kids has been all-consuming.
"Renovating the hotel has enabled me to come out of motherhood and create something different. I think of it as a family project. Maybe in 15 years, the kids will be interested in it. I want to see where it takes us.'
The hotel has since won the AA Hotel of the Year award for Scotland, with Murray paying tribute to his wife for all her hard work in a sweet post on social media.

Sharinga photo of Kim with the trophy, the former tennis ace wrote: "At least someone in the family can still win stuff. Congrats to my wife and all the team @cromlixhotel for winning the AA Hotel of the year award for Scotland."
However, the venture has not always been smooth sailing, with the hotel making another significant loss over the latest financial year.
In March, it was revealed that the venue posted a loss of £369,045 for the year ending March 2024, according to CityAM.

However, while it was a substantial loss, it's an improvement on figures for the previous year, when the hotel lost a whopping £919,572. It last made a profit back in 2022, when it was up £416,442 for the year.
In terms of other ventures, the couple recently oversaw the launch of the hotel's own brand of gin, made with ingredients found within the grounds of the venue.
The pair teamed up with craft gin maker Wildfire Gin to create Cromlix Gin, which includes raspberry leaf and milk thistle from the hotel garden, and is made with water from a borehole in the grounds.

Murray is also a shareholder in sportswear company Castore, who supply kits for the likes of Everton and Newcastle United, and has collaborated with them on his own clothing line called AMC.
"I'd wanted to set up my own apparel brand for a long time," said the tennis ace, who made Castore his official kit partner in 2019.
"I felt there was a clear gap in the market for stylish tennis wear and so, with my team, we identified Castore as a brand that could help me deliver something I felt really proud of.

"I like the fact that they are a British brand, set up by two brothers, and that sustainability is important to them. I think the most important thing is to be true to who you are. If a brand partnership doesn't feel genuine, people can quite quickly see through that and it just doesn't work."

Take a bath under the stars at five-star Highlands hotel opens luxury cottage

The Torridon has launched Chestnut Cottage, a luxurious new retreat with loch views, a stargazing bath, and a cosy log burner The UK's most northerly five-star hotel has unveiled a luxury cottage offering guests unrivalled lochside views and the chance to stargaze while soaking in a warm bath. The Torridon's newest gem, Chestnut Cottage, is positioned as the estate's most exclusive offering. The newly-refurbished private retreat perfectly blends luxury with a warm, homely feel, capturing the essence of heritage, elegance, and comfort in the heart of the Highlands. ‌ Guests at Chestnut Cottage can indulge in an outdoor bath under some of the darkest and clearest skies in the UK, enjoy direct access to Upper Loch Torridon, and unwind by a cosy log burner that invites quiet moments with a good book. ‌ Inside, the walls are adorned with wallpaper by renowned British designer GP&J Baker, featuring herons and lilies that bring the beauty of the outdoors inside, fully immersing visitors in the stunning Wester Ross landscape. The cottage's style marries traditional Victorian touches, like a bespoke wardrobe crafted by Scottish artisan Danny Rusling, with contemporary elements, including a modern mulberry stripe placed horizontally for a fresh twist. Bold colours, plush velvets and vivid patterns create a tranquil yet energising atmosphere, designed to lift the spirits. ‌ Rohaise Rose-Bristow, co-owner and creative visionary behind Chestnut Cottage, explained the inspiration behind the space, saying: 'We wanted to create a space where guests feel inspired by the luxury touches, but comfortable enough to kick off your muddy boots.' She added: 'It's the perfect spot for guests to escape and to switch off from the world for a while, to recharge and leave feeling a little bit happier.' ‌ Rohaise and her husband, Dan Rose-Bristow, took ownership of The Torridon in 1998, with Rohaise blending original Victorian charm with her own modern design flair to transform the hotel into the unique sanctuary it is today. Nestled within 58 acres of private parkland at the foot of dramatic mountains and overlooking a shimmering sea loch, The Torridon is one of the UK's most celebrated luxury retreats. ‌ The estate boasts fine dining at its flagship restaurant 1887 and the Bo & Muc Brasserie, headed by acclaimed Chef Danny Young. Guests can also explore the whisky bar, offering 356 different blends, or take part in a wide range of outdoor activities from loch snorkelling and kayaking to hiking and clay pigeon shooting. The Torridon's grandeur echoes its history as a hunting lodge built in the 1860s by William King-Noel, the first Earl of Lovelace, and completed in 1887. ‌ The Earl is notable for marrying Ada Lovelace, Lord Byron's only legitimate daughter, who was a pioneering poetical scientist. According to The Torridon's website, the estate represents the kind of Scottish holiday home favoured by English nobility after Queen Victoria made the Highlands respectable once again. ‌ Today, Dan and Rohaise Rose-Bristow, who inherited the property from Rohaise's parents, have meticulously restored and reimagined The Torridon into a boutique hotel that honours its surroundings. The award winning hotel features 18 uniquely styled rooms and suites in the main building, plus 12 more in the Stables and The Boathouse for private getaways. Dining options highlight seasonal and traditional Scottish flavours, while outdoor adventures range from guided tours of lochs and glens to stargazing, sea kayaking, mountain biking, gorge scrambling and archery. Room rates start from £635, offering guests a luxurious Highland escape steeped in history, comfort and natural beauty.

A look back at life in Llandinam in the early 2000s

WELCOME to another stroll down memory lane as we celebrate the village of Llandinam. Perhaps best known as the birthplace of Victorian industrialist and philanthropist David Davies, 1st Baron Davies of Llandinam, the village is inextricably linked to the Davies family's legacy. Davies, a self-made man, rose to prominence through his work in railway construction and coal mining, becoming a significant figure in the development of modern Wales. His impact is felt throughout the region, and Llandinam serves as a tangible reminder of his accomplishments. Llandinam Primary School was initially slated for closure as part of a broader education review in the Llanidloes area in 2013. However, Powys County Council's Cabinet voted to keep the school open. The village was also once home to a pioneering football club which was one of the oldest in the region but sadly Llandinam Football Club has risen and folded several times over the past 125 years. Mahomes says he will not participate in LA28 flag football

May 31 (Reuters) - Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has ruled out playing flag football at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, saying he will leave representing the United States in the sport's Olympic debut to "the younger guys." National Football League teams approved a resolution last week allowing their players to compete in flag football at the LA Games. Mahomes, twice NFL Most Valuable Player and three-time Super Bowl MVP, will be 32 when the 2028 Games begin. Speaking during the off-season organized team activities this week, Mahomes told reporters, "I'll probably leave that to the younger guys. I'll be a little older by the time that comes around." "It's awesome. Honestly, just to be able to showcase the NFL to the whole world through flag football." The NFL has ramped up its promotion of flag football, a non-contact format of American football, since the International Olympic Committee approved it for the LA28 program in 2023, with an eye toward drawing more women into an arena long dominated by men. The league itself had long been on board with players competing in the Games, while multiple athletes, including Mahomes, said two years ago they wanted to play the sport at the LA Games. Six men's teams and six women's teams are set to compete in flag football at the LA Games, with 10 players per team competing in a five-on-five format.
