IndiGo said it is in the process of reviewing the show cause notice.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) found that Category C or critical airfield training for around 1,700 pilots, including pilots in command and first officers, was conducted with
non-qualified simulators
, the sources said.
According to the sources, the regulator found that the simulators on which the nearly 1,700 pilots did their training were not qualified for operations at certain airports like
Calicut
, Leh, and Kathmandu.

Certain airports, like Calicut, which has a table top runway, have additional requirements for
flight operations
.
"We confirm receipt of a show-cause notice issued by the DGCA pertaining to simulator training of some of our pilots. We are in process of reviewing the same and will respond to the regulator within the stipulated timeline," an IndiGo spokesperson said in a statement.

US-Pakistan ties may impact stability in Afghanistan

Pakistan-US counterterrorism cooperation could extend to Afghanistan, impacting stability of the Taliban regime in the country as well as of several neighbouring nations, experts said, citing lukewarm ties between the Pakistan Army and the Afghan government. India will be closely watching developments in Afghanistan, they said, especially since the Taliban regime has warmed up to India over the past year and has sought assistance in development projects and the health sector. EAM Jaishankar to visit Russia next week

External affairs minister S Jaishankar will make an official visit to Russia next week as part of New Delhi's efforts to widen strategic partnership with the resource-rich nation in critical economic sectors, according to officials. Observers said this is significant in the backdrop of the planned meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday, which they said could yield a ceasefire deal in the Russia-Ukraine war and a possible easing of the additional 25% tariff that the US has imposed on Indian goods because of New Delhi's decision to continue importing oil from Russia. Trump sees India's oil trade with Moscow as "funding" Russia's war efforts. Trouble brews as Elon Musk's restaurant Tesla Diner shrinks menu just weeks after inauguration

Even Elon Musk's ambitious plans appear to be experiencing significant challenges. A few weeks after the big opening of Tesla's retro-futuristic diner, the menu that everyone was talking about has shrunk a lot. Early diners have noticed that there are fewer food options, the hours of operation are shorter, and some of their favorite dishes have quietly disappeared. The Tesla Diner was advertised as a unique mix of a charging station and an old-fashioned American diner, where people could eat while their electric cars charged. But after the most recent menu cuts, a lot of people are now wondering if this early change is a sign of bigger problems to come. Chef Eric Greenspan says that "unprecedented demand" led to the changes and that the menu will keep changing. Live Events Tesla Diner is a retro-style place where you could charge your Tesla and eat an American meal that reminded you of the past. But only a few days after the excitement, visitors started to see changes. The menu had only five sandwiches left by August 5- the Tesla Burger, the fried chicken sandwich, the hot dog, the grilled cheese, and the tuna melt. The market salad, club sandwich, biscuits with red gravy, hash-brown bites, veggie burger, and the famous "Epic Bacon" are all gone. This maple-glazed, pepper-dusted bacon snack quickly became popular. Some drinks, like the Shirley Temple and Creamsicle soda, just disappeared. ALSO READ : Orca attack mystery: What really happened to marine trainer Jessica Radcliffe What is still on the Tesla Diner menu? For now, diners can choose from the remaining sandwiches, fries, two kinds of pie, and a short list of sides. Breakfast used to be available all day, but now it's only available in the morning. Some fans are unhappy because they think the original menu was more like a full meal, while the new one is more like a snack stop. Eric Greenspan, the chef at Tesla Diner, defended the decision by saying that demand had been higher than expected. He said that streamlining helps the team serve guests faster while still keeping the quality of the food. He also said that the menu would "always change." Are the hours of operation changing as well? Yes, when the diner first opened, it was advertised as a place to hang out all day and night. The official hours are now from 6 a.m. to midnight. You might still be able to charge and order directly from a Tesla's in-car system outside of those hours, but the doors close at midnight for walk-ins. Some visitors have said that the diner's charging stations are only for Tesla owners, which raises questions about how easy it is for other EV drivers to get to them. What will happen next at Musk's retro-futuristic restaurant? Elon Musk still thinks the diner idea is a good business opportunity around the world, even after the early changes. He's talked about opening similar places in big cities and along long-distance Supercharger routes all over the world. FAQs Why did Tesla Diner change its menu so soon after it opened? Chef Eric Greenspan says the changes were made due to "unprecedented demand" and to make service faster. Is it possible for people who don't own a Tesla to eat and charge at the diner? Reports say that only Tesla owners may be able to charge, but anyone can eat there.
