Watch Hammond and May Lap The Top Gear Test Track One Last Time
Top Gear
. While much of the presenting took place in a studio, a large chunk of the testing, lapping, and tomfoolery we remember most happened at the fabled airstrip-turned-road course.
Used from 2002 as a primary filming location for the show, the Aerodrome faces an uncertain future. In 2018, rumors circulated that the track would be demolished to make room for a new residential housing project. And while development has begun at the opposite end of the airfield, the 1.9-mile track should remain operational at least through 2026, according to
RadioTimes.com
.
In the wake of that uncertainty, former
Top Gear
hosts James May and Richard Hammond thought it a good time to revisit the legendary location and reminisce on their experiences. While the Aerodrome is best-known for the Stig's timed "Power Laps," the show also used Dunsfold for a variety of reviews, features, and comparisons.
Production of
Top Gear
was put on hold
in 2023 "for the foreseeable future" after host Freddie Flintoff rolled a Morgan 3-Wheeler at Dunsfold while filming, resulting in serious injury. The BBC later reached a settlement with Flintoff reportedly worth $11.3 million at the time.
"We know resting the show will be disappointing news for fans, but it is the right thing to do," the BBC said in its 2023 statement. "All other
Top Gear
activity remains unaffected by this hiatus, including international formats, digital, magazines, and licensing."
In fact,
Top Gear Magazine
in the UK still uses the Aerodrome for timed laps with
the Stig
, the publication's masked racing driver. As of this writing, the record is held by the McMurtry Spéirling fan car,
with a time of 55.9 seconds
—making it quicker than even an F1 car.

Clarkson's Farm Season 5: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on August 16, 2025, 19:00 IST Last updated August 16, 2025, 15:35 IST Alright, Clarkson's Farm fans, let's talk about the show that's got everyone obsessed with Jeremy Clarkson's wild farming life at Diddly Squat. Season 4 just dropped, and the buzz for Season 5 is already off the charts. Here's the scoop on when it might hit, who's returning, and what kind of chaos we're in for—everything known so far, straight from the farm! Is Clarkson's Farm Season 5 Happening? You bet it is! Amazon Prime Video didn't waste time, confirming Season 5 before Season 4 even aired. Jeremy spilled the beans in style on November 5, 2024, with a video showing drones lighting up the sky to spell out a giant '5.' Talk about a flex! Filming's already rolling at Diddly Squat, with camera crews spotted capturing the usual madness. Fans are hyped, and honestly, who wouldn't be? Release Date Speculation for Clarkson's Farm Season 5 No official release date yet, but let's piece it together. The show's dropped seasons at different times: June 2021 for Season 1, February 2023 for Season 2, and May for both Seasons 3 and 4 (2024 and 2025). Filming's happening now, but editing, voiceovers, and all that polish take a while. Some folks on X are guessing May 2025, but that feels like a stretch with filming still underway. Summer 2026—maybe May or June—seems more likely. Keep an eye out for Amazon's official word, probably closer to the premiere. Who's Back for Clarkson's Farm Season 5? The Diddly Squat crew is what makes the show, and the main gang's expected to return: Jeremy Clarkson : The loudmouth ex- Top Gear star who's somehow a farmer now. His crazy ideas and hilarious rants are the show's heartbeat. Kaleb Cooper : The young farming whiz who keeps Jeremy in check with savage one-liners. He's basically the farm's MVP. Lisa Hogan : Jeremy's partner, holding it down at the farm shop with her wit and zero patience for nonsense. Charlie Ireland : The land agent who's always saving Jeremy from paperwork disasters. Gerald Cooper: The legend with the thick accent and deadpan humor. Every scene he's in is gold. Big question: will Harriet Cowan be back? The 24-year-old farmhand stole hearts in Season 4 while Kaleb was off doing his theater tour. Fans are begging for her return, but she's staying tight-lipped. Fingers crossed she's back for more! There might be new faces too, especially if Jeremy's got some wild new project up his sleeve. What's the Plot for Clarkson's Farm Season 5? Plot details are hush-hush, but expect the usual mix of laughs, drama, and farming fails. Season 4 had Jeremy juggling The Farmer's Dog pub while dealing with crop disasters and skyrocketing costs. Season 5 will probably keep the cameras on Diddly Squat, with fresh challenges. Word on X is that Jeremy's been hit hard by weather—2024 was too soggy, 2025 too dry, and a recent 'catastrophic' harvest could set the stage for some intense moments. A shiny new John Deere tractor was spotted at the farm shop, and fans are losing it. After Jeremy's fancy Lamborghini tractor tanked in Season 4 (sold at a £14,500 loss, ouch), this new ride hints at big plans. Will it save the day or just spark more chaos? The show might lean into Jeremy's growing passion for speaking up for farmers, too—he's been vocal about stuff like net zero policies. Plus, a heartbreaking update about livestock testing positive for TB could bring some tear-jerker scenes. Grab the tissues! Reality TV Made Jade Thirlwall Famous. As a Solo Act, She Keeps It Real.
The United Kingdom's first Eurovision win came in 1967, with a curious oompah song called 'Puppet on a String.' The vocalist who sang it, Sandie Shaw, hated the track: She later said she found it sexist and twee. But she was cajoled into recording it, and the song became a success, topping the British charts for three weeks. A bar of 'Puppet on a String' is the first thing you hear on 'Angel of My Dreams,' Jade Thirlwall's debut solo single. Like Shaw, Thirlwall spent years being pushed into things by men in her orbit. After getting her start performing in school musicals and at local singing competitions, she came to prominence as a member of Little Mix, the British girl group formed on 'The X Factor' in 2011 that went on to become a sensation approaching Spice Girls levels in the U.K. (The boy band One Direction was formed in the same fashion a year earlier.) She described her feelings about the show and time in the group as a 'tightrope of gratitude and resentment.' 'I can't sit and justify everything that we went through on the show, everything that went on behind the scenes that wasn't OK — it still changed my life,' she said. 'I think we all suffered, some more than others. And also, we were 18, we just weren't knowledgeable enough to know how to deal with being in the limelight.' Little Mix lasted for 11 years, amassing 19 Top 10 singles in the U.K., including five No 1s. Its songs both amplified and softened the girl power messaging of forebears like the Spice Girls and Girls Aloud with songs like 'Shout Out to My Ex' and 'Power,' which exemplified the sloganeering feminism of the mid-2010s. 'The ethos of Little Mix was more of a universal concept — a lot of our songs had to speak to so many people,' Thirlwall said. 'It's what you need from a girl band, right? The whole point is togetherness and solidarity and sisterhood.' There were cracks, however: In 2020, Jesy Nelson left the group, citing the strain that celebrity and online trolling had on her mental health. Little Mix continued as a trio, but announced a hiatus in 2021. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

How will the new Match of the Day work?
Match of the Day is back with a new presenting trio ready to bring insight, energy and entertainment to the Premier League season. The new campaign represents a bold new era for BBC Sport's flagship football show when it returns to screens live on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday from 22:20 BST, with Sunday's show starting at 22:30 BST. Who are the new presenters? Match of the Day will be presented by Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan. The lead presenter role will be shared for the first time across Match of the Day and Match of the Day: Champions League - the latest addition to the BBC's football highlights portfolio. Cates has had a 27-year career in football with stints on all major broadcasters, including the BBC on Radio 5 Live. She previously hosted 606 with Ian Wright on Sundays. Cates, whose dad is former Liverpool and Scotland legend Sir Kenny Dalglish, has been presenting Premier League football for Sky Sports since 2017 and will continue to work for them. Chapman has been hosting MOTD2 for 12 years and also presents a range of sports programming on BBC Radio 5 Live, including the Monday Night Club and 606. He has hosted various sporting events for both BBC TV and radio. Chapman also presented Sky Sports' coverage of the Carabao Cup. Logan first joined the BBC in 2007 and has presented many sporting events, including men's and women's World Cups and European Championships, the Six Nations and Olympics. Since 2013, Logan has co-hosted BBC Sports Personality of the Year. The trio are the sixth set of main presenters for the weekly football highlights programme since it first aired in 1964. There have also been changes to the show too, with new augmented reality graphics in the studio and an updated title sequence. Who will present the first show and how will they rotate? The new presenters will rotate throughout the season, sharing equal billing on Saturday and Sunday's shows, and Match of the Day: Champions League on Wednesday. Their schedule may change throughout the season, with Logan presenting BBC Sport's coverage of the Rugby World Cup this autumn, as an example. The first show of the season will be hosted by Chapman with insight and analysis from Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer in the studio. Logan will lead Sunday's highlights show with guests Joe Hart and Danny Murphy. Who are the pundits? As well as Rooney, Shearer, Hart and Murphy, fan favourites and returning stars include Micah Richards, Ashley Williams, Dion Dublin and Martin Keown. Ellen White, Nedum Onuoha, Steph Houghton, Theo Walcott, Shay Given and Stephen Warnock will also be on hand to impart their knowledge, energy and experience. Who decides the running order? The running order is decided by considering various factors: the number of goals, the importance of the result in the title race or relegation battle, any particularly controversial decisions, and the overall quality of the game. The MOTD programme editor has the final call on the running order the programme will follow, but they will take into account where we're at in the season. Early in the season, there is no particular urgency to reflect on the standings. So high-scoring games will generally become top picks to start the programme. Goalless draws will not normally sit at the top of the programme, but towards the end of the season that result could be more significant if it feeds into a story around the title race. How can I watch Premier League highlights from 8pm on BBC Sport? The BBC Sport website will feature highlights of every Premier League match during the 2025-26 season. These will be available on the BBC Sport app, website and iPlayer on Saturdays and Sundays - ordinarily from 8pm. If there is an evening match, highlights from all matches that day will be available 30 minutes after the final game of the day finishes. Highlights of weeknight matches will be published at 10.30pm. What other football will there on the BBC? Champions League highlights will continue to be available on BBC Sport from 10pm on a Wednesday. BBC Sport will continue to broadcast action from every stage of the FA Cup, as well as providing highlights and digital clips across the BBC Sport website, app and social media. There will be also digital highlights for every Women's Super League match on the Women's Football Show, as well as 21 live matches on the BBC. Alex Scott continues to present Football Focus, and you can get all the scores and reaction on Final Score with Jason Mohammad throughout the campaign. BBC Radio 5 Live will have commentaries from 209 Premier League games this season - more than any other UK broadcaster. In Scotland and Northern Ireland there is extensive live coverage of the Scottish Premiership and NIFL Premiership across the season. BBC Sport has also launched a new football podcast - The Wayne Rooney Show - available to watch or listen to on BBC Sounds, YouTube, BBC iPlayer, and the BBC Sport website. The biggest names in football and entertainment will also join host Kelly Somers for bold, in-depth conversations in The Football Interview.
