EX-QUIZ-ITE NEWS Hollywood star to host new ITV game show which is already a smash hit around the globe
A GLOBAL quiz phenomenon is coming to ITV on Saturday nights — and chances are, if you've been abroad lately, you have already heard of it.
Like The Traitors or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, The Floor is a blockbuster format that's conquered TV markets around the world, including the US, where it's fronted by movie star Rob Lowe.

Now it's heading for its 25th territory, the UK.
The show will land here next year, though ITV bosses are yet to reveal which famous face will be taking the helm in our version.
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV's director of entertainment, said: 'The Floor, with its compelling gameplay, is an excellent addition to our roster of existing popular quiz shows across ITV and ITVX.'
Originally a Dutch show, it features 81 quiz fanatics facing off in duels on a giant LED floor divided into 81 squares, each representing its own field of knowledge.

The goal is to conquer the entire floor and take home a huge cash prize, with each duel upping the stakes and the tension.
The Floor has already been a big hit in countries including Australia, Poland and Spain and recently launched in Estonia and Latvia.
Over in the US, it has already run for three seasons, and hiring such a big Hollywood name to front it was an instant sign of TV bosses' confidence in the format.
Now broadcaster Fox has ordered two more seasons, continuing the format through next year and 2027 in America.

Sounds like they'll soon be flooring Brit quiz fans, too.

PIERCE BROSNAN and Helen Mirren have hit the campaign trail for Netflix's The Thursday Murder Club.
The movie adaptation of Richard Osman's crime novel tells the story of a group of pensioners whose hobby of investigating unsolved killings explodes when a real-life murder lands on their patch.

The book is set in a quiet village in Kent – but if Pierce and Helen's glam appearance on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight show in the US is anything to go by, their film will be more Hollywood than humdrum.
Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie also star, with the movie debuting in cinemas on August 22 before it appears on Netflix on August 28.

The star of the six-parter revealed that a high-flying pal gave her a unique insight.
Katherine said: 'I love the homework side of things. I love to step on set fully prepared.
'I have a friend who is senior cabin crew, so I was lucky enough to shadow her for a day.'
The drama, which continues tonight at 9pm, follows single mum Jo, who is coerced into smuggling drugs for a dangerous criminal gang in a desperate bid to keep her son safe.

Katherine added: 'I just hope people are going to enjoy it because that's what the thrill is all about.'

John, who's also the father of champion boxer Tyson Fury, says in the first episode of the much-anticipated series: 'I knew from dealing with Tyson that when the drinking started to come into play, I thought 'Not again'.
'Molly came to me with this stuff, and I said, 'What you're best off doing with him, Molly, is walking away because if he is not gonna change himself, he doesn't think that much of you, does he?''
In the show, fighter Tommy discusses alleged infidelities prior to their brief split last year, but he maintains: 'The reason for our ending the relationship was alcohol.'

ALEX BROOKER is kicking off a new football-themed quiz.
The Last Leg funnyman will pit three diehard supporters against a team of sporting legends and celebrity fans to see who comes out on top.
With the working title Call Yourself A Fan?, the show aims to echo the spirit of Soccer AM and Fantasy Football League.
Gary Neville's Buzz 16 production company is behind the new show, which does not have a broadcaster confirmed yet.

But execs say it's a 'fast-paced format packed with laughs', with 'fierce competition, tantalising trivia, and a whole lot of nonsense, all held together by a brilliant host and a studio audience.'
Sounds like a winner.

BEFORE many of ITV's first ladies became Loose Women, they were famed for their singing and dancing.

For starters, Frankie Bridge was in The Saturdays and – a little further back – Coleen Nolan was world famous with her sisters, selling more than 30million records.
Now the daytime show will celebrate the healing power of music for the Loose ladies with a one-off show.
Loose Women: The Music will feature special performances and stories shared by the cast about the times music has helped them.
The special will be recorded later this month.

Perhaps they can tempt ex-Loosey Jane McDonald back to sing a tune or two.
ITV has announced new shows as part of its Fresh Cuts diversity push.
Sketch show Say! Less! stars rising black comedy stars, while in The Blind Matchmakers, a trio of vision-impaired love gurus helping singles find love.
The shows, and four others, land on ITVX and YouTube later this year.

A DATING show will follow single lovebirds at a blood bank while they donate to save lives.

Harry's like vacuous Meghan's hostage-in-the-attic – he's so lost he ruins EVERYTHING he touches, expert slams

WHAT'S HIS PLAN? Harry's like vacuous Meghan's hostage-in-the-attic – he's so lost he ruins EVERYTHING he touches, expert slams PRINCE Harry acts like Meghan's hostage-in-the-attic and ruins everything he touches, an expert has claimed. The Sussexes announced yesterday they signed a new "multi-year, first look deal" with Netflix to produce "film and television projects". Advertisement 9 Prince Harry is 'lost', according to a royal expert Credit: Reuters 9 Season 2 of Meghan's controversial cookery show will drop later this month Credit: Netflix 9 It is yet to be revealed whether Harry will appear in the second season Credit: BackGrid However, broadcaster and journalist Esther Krakue told The Sun's Royal Exclusive show how the Duke will be at the mercy of his wife. In harsh comments, she claimed Harry has "no value in terms of entertainment". "Harry is in the attic, he's a hostage, and thankfully he chewed through his leash just in time to make an appearance in the season two trailer," she told The Sun's royal editor Matt Wilkinson. "But he is nowhere to be seen. Yes, obviously, he's dealing with the fallout from his charity and trying to find his own thing. Advertisement "But the man is lost. I mean, he's really trying to find his feet. "He has a kind of brown Midas touch, which I'm sure the viewers can infer what I mean by that. "And really, this creative side of this endeavor has really been Meghan's push." The expert added that she's interested to see how the Duchess handles directing - having remained in front of the camera on previous projects. Advertisement Ms Krakue claimed the actress is used to being a "b-list presence in Hollywood", who remained in the "background". "If I was a Netflix executive and I was negotiating this new non-deal with Harry and Meghan," she continued. Harry & Meghan were 'not in a strong position' & signed Netflix deal for 'much less'… TV giant 'did it for publicity' "I'd probably want to throw my shoe at Harry because at least Meghan is entertaining in the sense that she's so vacuous, it's almost like you marvel at it. "But Harry's not a creative and he's never had anything in this industry. Advertisement "And I think because he's come from a world where everyone fawns at everything that he does because he's Prince Harry. Ms Krakue highlighted Harry's Polo documentary flop "that really just didn't connect". 9 Prince Harry's polo documentary was watched by just 500,000 people Credit: Reuters 9 The couple trashed the Royal Family in their 2022 docuseries Credit: NETFLIX Advertisement 9 The couple have signed a new deal with the streaming giant Credit: Splash The broadcaster estimated the streaming giant should have "sunk" it's funds into Meghan instead. "Even though she's not entertaining the way that she thinks she is," Ms Krakue added. "Harry just has, there's just nothing to him in terms of entertainment value. Advertisement "And I think this is probably why Netflix are like, yeah, let's deal with the wife." It was previously thought that the Sussexes' £74million deal with the streamer was not going to be renewed. Harry's vanity project, Polo, about the sport, was watched by just 500,000 people. But it was also understood that bosses were mildly infuriated by Meghan making her As Ever brand a priority. Advertisement 'Meghan & Harry need to come up with a hit soon' By Matt Wilkinson JUST when you thought it was safe to turn the telly on again... Harry and Meghan are back. And their multi-year renewal with Netflix means they are not going away anytime soon. There have been tense negotiations in recent weeks but Netflix is so deeply involved with Meghan's As Ever brand it was always likely that the streaming giants would want them back. Make no mistake, Harry and Meghan would have been desperate for the deal to be renewed. They will likely be opening a bottle or two of As Ever Rose in Montecito. Because they have invested heavily in Archewell Productions and getting on board with Netflix is central not only to their post-Royal endeavours but more importantly crucial to their bank accounts. If they lost their Netflix money then how could they afford their life in the US? While the length of the deal or how much the couple are getting paid is vague we do know that Meghan will appear in a 'holiday special' in December that will likely clash with the Princess of Wales's annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey. And finally, two years after I revealed in The Sun the couple had bought the rights to the book Meet Me At The Lake, production is in active development. Sources close to the couple are coy about whether Harry or Meghan will appear on screen for the production of Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within which will air later this year. But perhaps the best piece of news from the announcement is no repeat of the six-part documentary which dumped on the Royal Family. However, 'Harry & Meghan' was a ratings dream and none of their projects since have been anywhere as successful. They need to come up with a hit soon. And this 'first look' deal means Netflix has the first option on new projects from the couple without any guaranteed commitment. But remember the Sussexes are not the only Royals to be in bed with Netflix. The King will feature in a documentary on The King's Foundation with Idris Elba. The With Love, Meghan viewing figures have reportedly been "dismal". The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have previously released a number of shows on the platform, including a 2022 documentary on their lives and lifestyle show With Love, Meghan this year. They had secured a lucrative five-year contract - thought to be worth more than $100 million (£74 million) - with Netflix after quitting as senior working royals in 2020. However, a new deal has been signed for "much less", an insider told Page Six. Advertisement Meghan said in a statement: 'We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand. "My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.' 'DOWNGRADE' Netflix will only pay for projects they want to screen, rather than pay in a single multi-million pound agreement like the one signed in 2020, The Sun understands. The Sun can also reveal, however, that the streaming giants will cover Archewell Productions's overheads, including all costs for its offices and staff. Advertisement The new deal was also described as a "downgrade" by PR expert Mark Borkowski. He told the Mail: "I think Netflix has done a very neat job of pivoting away from two very expensive people who didn't deliver, and they've taken that deal off the table, and they've given them a modest one. "It's not like they're gradually uncoupling – it's a downgrade. Netflix are not going to expose themselves to those budgets again. It's Netflix saying, 'Let's have a look at your content, but we'll pick and choose, mate'." CRINGE NEW TRAILER This comes as mum-of-two Meghan teased a new trailer for her critically panned Netflix show. Advertisement Footage showed the Duchess with a host of famous guests speaking about how she "loves finding new ways to show people she cares" ahead of the release of the second series of With Love, Meghan on August 26. The show's second series claims it will be "fun and heartwarming", with plethora of celebrity guests due to make their appearance. This includes model Chrissy Teigen, podcast pal Jamie Kern Lima, and Netflix Queer Eye star Tan France. Meghan can be seen laughing alongside guests at her luxury Montecito home in the trailer, even joking at the end about Prince Harry's lack of love for lobster. Advertisement Speaking to Chef Andrés, she says: "You know who doesn't like lobster? My husband." In response, the chef light-heartedly retorts: "And you married him anyway?" In one cringey moment during the trailer, in which she is seen cooking and baking with celebrity friends, the Duchess of Sussex also says: "I love the idea of just spending time together... and finding new ways to show people you care." She adds: "There are easy ways to show up, lovingly." Advertisement On top of Season 2 of With Love, Meghan - which will drop later this month - the couple will also film a "Holiday Celebration" Christmas special. The couple will also release a short film called "Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within" which will look at Uganda's Masaka region and the HIV/AIDS crisis there. This has echoes of Harry's mum Diana's work, who pioneered social change on perceptions of HIV/AIDS. 9 The second season Meghan Markle's show With Love, Meghan is due to be released on August 26 Credit: JAKE ROSENBERG/NETFLIX Advertisement 9 The trailer sees Meghan cooking, baking and creating drinks with celebrity friends Credit: COURTESY OF NETFLIX

Harry Clark breaks silence on Celeb SAS axe after shock brawl at Brits revealed

Harry reveals why he thinks bosses 'did him a favour' for giving him the boot SPEAKING OUT Harry Clark breaks silence on Celeb SAS axe after shock brawl at Brits revealed TRAITORS star Harry Clark has broken his silence after being booted off SAS: Who Dares Wins for cheating. It was a humbling moment for the ex-Army lad, who has now admitted he 'hated' his time on the Channel 4 show. Advertisement Directing staff Billy Billingham and Jason Fox caught Harry out performing only 10 burpee exercises when he'd been challenged to do 20 - then lied about it. He was meant to complete the set before pulling a switch. Harry said: 'Obviously I was so disheartened and so annoyed, but at the same time in the back of my head I was like, 'but it's all right though because I've made that switch, I'm here to stay'. 'I did exactly what I would do in the military. Advertisement 'And that's what annoyed me so much because it was like I just hit that switch, but they'd kicked me off for it. 'So it was like, well then how can I prove to you now that I've changed? 'But then at the same time, when I look back on it and I've matured a lot now, they've probably done me a favour because I know that the next big stage was the interrogation phase.' The show was filmed in September last year. Advertisement Celebrities always dread the interrogation segment and many crumble. Harry added: 'The place where I was mentally and physically, I would've definitely been broken down easy. I was easy pickings.
