Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane fumes at radio hosts over 'one of dumbest arguments I've ever heard'

Daily Mail29-04-2025

Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane called into a local radio show on Monday to scold two hosts over one of 'the dumbest arguments I've heard.'
WGR 550 co-hosts Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase had apparently been criticizing the team's wide receiver situation before Beane came on the air, and the executive let loose as he accused the pair of unnecessarily 'bi***ing' about the state of the team.
'I was just listening to the last few minutes of your show before I came on, waiting on here, sounds like 2018 all over with you guys,' Beane began. 'You guys were bi***ing in 2018 about Josh Allen, you guys wanted Josh Rosen, and now you guys are bi***ing that we don't have a receiver. I don't get it. We just scored 30 points in a row for eight straight games [between Weeks 7 and 15].
'A year ago, I get you guys asking why we didn't have receivers, but I don't understand it now. You just saw us lead the league in points, when you add all the postseason no one scored more points than the Buffalo Bills including the Super Bowl champions.
'So you just saw us do it without Stefon Diggs, same group,' Beane continued. 'How is this group not better than last year's group? Our job is to score points and win games. Where do we need to get better? Defense, we did that. So I get it, you gotta have a show, and you gotta have something to bi*** about but b***ing about wide receiver is one of the dumbest arguments I've heard.'
To Beane's point, offense was hardly the Bills' problem last season as they went 13-4 and lost in the AFC Championship Game to the Chiefs.

Even after trading former No. 1 wideout Diggs to the Texans, Buffalo ranked second in points per game (30.9) in the regular season, only behind the Lions.
Khalil Shakir had a breakout year, rookie Keon Coleman had a productive 556 yards and five-time Pro Bowler Amari Cooper was also acquired at the trade deadline (though he is currently a free agent).
Buffalo also signed Joshua Palmer to a three-year, $29million deal this offseason.
'Let's be realistic. Our job is not fantasy football, to trot out the best receivers,' Beane continued. 'You got Josh Allen, first thing you got to do is protect him. You can't have everything. You can't have Pro Bowl wide receivers and have a Pro Bowl offensive line and an All-Pro quarterback and three great running backs like.
'Sure, I'd love to play fantasy football, but there's one football, Jeremy, there's one ball you can't give it to so many people. So that's where I'm like, I don't understand this narrative. I felt it a little bit from a couple of the reporters. Our job is to score points. It doesn't matter what receivers, what quarterback, if you score points at the level we scored, that is winning football.'
The Bills allowed 32 points in their season-ending loss to the Chiefs, so it's not surprising that Beane would use the team's first five NFL Draft picks on defenders.
Buffalo selected cornerback Maxwell Hairston with the No. 30 overall pick in the first round, before selecting defensive tackle T.J. Sanders at No. 41, edge rusher Landon Jackson at No. 72, defensive tackle Deone Walker at No. 109 and cornerback Jordan Hancock at No. 170.
The Bills then used the No. 173 pick on tight end Jackson Hawes before spending two of their next three picks on defense.
Cornerback Dorian Stong was taken in the sixth round, offensive tackle Chase Lundt was taken later that round and wide receiver Kaden Prather was taken at No. 240 in the seventh.

Travis Kelce body transformation revealed by Chiefs insider as he attends minicamp after summer with Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce 's body transformation has been revealed by a Kansas City Chiefs insider as the A-list tight end appeared at the team's minicamp on Tuesday after a summer with Taylor Swift. Kelce appeared slimmer and 'moved well' during the workouts in Missouri after spending weeks with his 14-time Grammy Award-winning girlfriend in south Florida. Tuesday marked one of Kelce's first appearances for the Chiefs since the end of last season, as he did conditioning drills in front of the media, per Pete Sweeney. Many believed going into last season that Kelce was not at his best due to his skyrocketing profile outside of football. His stats showed a dip, as he only had three touchdown catches during the 2024 regular season. Kelce also was a non-factor in Kansas City's Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in February, where he did not have a meaningful catch in the game. Now, after a more low-key offseason, Kelce is back into Chiefs offseason activities this week. How this time away from football and with Swift will pay off on the gridiron is to be determined. Yet, per close friend Pat McAfee, and with obvious signs during his time with Swift in a luxury suite at a hockey game, Kelce looks to be in the right mindset to get back to his old, dominant ways. 'I think they continue to inspire each other, I think they continue to motivate each other,' McAfee said of Swift and Kelce. 'I think they continue to motivate each other. I think they continue to be great for each other.' 'And if Travis Kelce is all the way back, I think you immediately understand that the Chiefs are going to be where the Chiefs have been, and that's in title conversations.' Due to being at Chiefs' workouts, Kelce is not expected to be at Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.

Josh Allen shares behind-the-scenes glimpse of romantic honeymoon with new wife Hailee Steinfeld

Josh Allen has enjoyed a whirlwind offseason of romance, packing in a fairytale wedding and tropical getaway honeymoon with wife Hailee Steinfeld before the 2025 NFL season gets underway. The Buffalo Bills quarterback, 29, tied the knot with the Marvel star, 28, in a beautiful ceremony at the San Ysidro ranch in Montecito, California late last month. And, in between the Bills' mandatory minicamp, which ran from June 10 to 12, the reigning NFL MVP whisked his new bride away on a romantic vacation to celebrate the nuptials. Allen shared a rare glimpse of the couple's love life Tuesday, when he posted a number of snaps from their honeymoon to Instagram. He posted a photos displaying several Polaroid printouts showing the loved-up couple and their newly-wed bliss. He simply captioned the post: 'Wifey.' While it remains unclear exactly where the couple jetted off to, one photo showed Steinfeld leaning into her new husband with the pair wearing pink leis - flower garlands associated with Hawaiian culture - around their necks. One of the snaps showed the actress posing in a pink swimsuit with a hibiscus tucked behind her ear, while another captured her with the outlines of palm trees visible in the background. It appears they also enjoyed a round of golf with the Pitch Perfect actress captured at the top of her backswing. The 'Starving' songstress shared a twin post, sharing a similar photo of multiple Polaroids and writing, 'HUSBAND!,' in the caption. However, hers displayed images from their special day. Steinfeld had been all smiles when she wed quarterback fiancé Josh Allen in a sunset ceremony, which included Larry David among its star-studded guests, in California on May 31. Exclusive photos showed the moment a beaming Steinfeld made her way up the aisle on the arm of her proud dad Peter, never taking her eyes off Allen. In a modern twist, the actress dispensed with the traditional bridal bouquet and instead, accessorized her gown with full-length white gloves, large diamond studs and a frothy veil. Later, the couple were seen celebrating saying 'I do' with a kiss in front of a clapping crowd of guests, with a dark suit-clad Allen seen looking proud as he made his way back down the aisle with his new wife. The al-fresco wedding took place at the tony San Ysidro ranch in Montecito – a celebrity favorite that has previously seen Chris Pratt , Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Simpson marry in its grounds. Along with Steinfeld's dad Peter, her mom Cheri and brother Griffin were among the guests looking on, as were Allen's parents Joel and LaVonne, and his siblings Jason, Nicala and Makenna. Allen returned to Bills minicamp last week showing off a black wedding band as he spoke about a huge offseason which has also seen him win the MVP and sign a record-setting contract with $250million guaranteed. 'They've all been big, none other than marrying my best friend, and she makes everything easier,' he told reporters of the accomplishments. 'So I don't really focus on the other stuff. That was the most important decision I'll make in my life, and I made the right one.' Allen was in good spirits during the press conference but was otherwise hesitant to talk too much about his wedding day, which he and Steinfeld largely kept under wraps beforehand. Nonetheless, he proudly flashed his wedding band as he took to the field for Bills minicamp in Orchard Park, New York. Allen and Steinfeld were engaged during the Bills bye week in November, when the quarterback proposed on a California cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The two were first linked in the spring of 2023, when they were photographed dining together in New York City. Steinfeld has since begun attending Bills home games, and the couple hosted a Halloween party. The couple also walked the red carpet together at the NFL Honors ceremony in February, when Allen credited Steinfeld upon accepting the league's MVP award.

Travis Kelce 'has lost a step' claims ex-Philadelphia Eagles man... but says the NFL should still fear him

Travis Kelce has 'lost a step' according to a former Eagles linebacker - who still believes the NFL should fear him in his 13th season. Last year, the 35-year-old had the worst statistical season since his rookie year (in which he played one game), and he was anonymous in the Chiefs' Super Bowl loss to the Eagles. Nonetheless, former Eagles player and Fox Sports analyst Emmanuel Acho believes it's too soon to write off the Future Hall of Famer. 'I fear him for one more year,' Acho said on The Facility. 'If I'm an opponent of the Chiefs, I need to confirm that Travis Kelce has lost a step... I saw it on tape last year - Travis Kelce struggled more than ever beating man coverage. 'So, I think he's lost a step. But give me one more year to truly confirm Travis Kelce is no longer still the great Travis Kelce.' Kelce, by all accounts, certainly seems determined to return with a vengeance after Kansas City's 40-22 loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler previously reported that the tight end had lost a whopping 25 pounds this offseason, while his quarterback and good friend Patrick Mahomes gushed about his approach during OTAs. 'If it's the last ride, you would never know,' Mahomes said. 'I mean, the way he's talking about football, the way he's talking about working and trying to be even better this year than he was last year. 'He doesn't seem like a guy that, it's his last ride, like he's tired of the job. He's in here, he's working and I know his body feels good, I think it feels better than even last year before going into last season.' Following the loss to Philly, Kelce took his time to decide whether or not to return for another NFL season. He ultimately decided against retiring as he spoke of his desire to perform better throughout the season. 'I don't think it was my best outing. I think I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them, especially if you look at my track record and how I've been in years past,' he said on his New Heights podcast. 'I want to give it a good run. I've got a bad taste in my mouth on how I ended the year and how well I was playing and how accountable I was for the people around me. I love so many people in Kansas City, both in that facility and the community and it's home for me now. 'I don't want to leave that life yet. I put in a lot of hard work and focus into being the best I can be for Kansas City and last year it didn't end well for us. I feel there's a responsibility in me to play out the contract I initially signed to give the organization everything that I've got and that's what I'm going to do man.' Kelce signed a two-year, $34.25million contract - with $17m guaranteed - back in April 2024. After reporting to OTAs last month, he skipped voluntary team workouts as he was seen spending some time in Florida.
