Indian Railways To Run 392 Special Trains For Ganesh Chaturthi Festivities
The Indian Railways on Wednesday announced that it will operate 392 special train trips during Ganesh Chaturthi to facilitate passenger travel and ease congestion during the festival.
The service will run from August 21 to September 10, the Railways said in a post on X, 'For the convenience of passengers during Ganesh Chaturthi, Indian Railways has announced 392 train trips."

This year, Ganesh Chaturthi begins on August 27 and will culminate on Anantha Chaturdashi. Also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Vinayak Chavithi, the festival marks the worship of Lord Ganesha as the god of new beginnings and remover of obstacles. Devotees across India and abroad celebrate his wisdom and intelligence with decorated homes and pandals, prayers, music, and vibrant processions.
'This festival is deeply rooted in social, national, freedom, self-respect, and linguistic pride. It continues in the same spirit today. It is a matter of pride and honour for Maharashtra," Shelar had told the Assembly.
He emphasised that the Government of Maharashtra is committed to preserving and promoting the cultural significance and global presence of this festival. Shelar also highlighted that certain individuals, for various reasons, have attempted to challenge the traditional public celebration of Ganeshotsav in different courts.
However, the Mahayuti government–under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Dada Pawar–has acted swiftly to overcome all such restrictions and legal hurdles.

Ganesh Chaturthi Special Train from Hubballi to Mangaluru Central
In view of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, South Western Railway will run a one-time special train service between SSS Hubballi and Mangaluru Central to clear the extra rush. This announcement has brought much needed relief to the passengers. Train No. 07341 will depart from Hubballi at 4:00 PM on August 26, 2025, and reach Mangaluru Central at 11:45 AM the next day. The return Train No. 07342 will leave Mangaluru Central at 2:15 PM on August 27 and arrive at Hubballi at 9:45 AM the following day. The train will stop at key stations including Haveri, Harihar, Davangere, Birur, Arsikere, Tumakuru, Yesvantpur, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabakaputtur, and Bantawala. It will run with 17 coaches, comprising AC Two Tier, AC Three Tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class, and Luggage Vans with compartments for disabled passengers. Local police said the guide- printed in Chinese, English and Korean- is the first of its kind in the country and is being rolled out during the peak summer season. Authorities said the decision followed reports of foreign visitors littering, smoking in prohibited areas and even allowing children to defecate in public. The booklet lists 'minor offences" punishable by fines, including jaywalking, urinating or defecating in public, drunk and disorderly conduct, dining and dashing, using fake IDs and trespassing. 'We aim to prevent misunderstandings due to language and cultural differences and improve foreigners' understanding of Korean culture and laws," Jeju Police Agency chief Kim Su-young said as per BBC. Jeju has attracted more than seven million visitors so far this year, according to local media. In 2024, foreign tourists injected a record 9.26 trillion won into the island's economy, with nearly 70% arriving from China. The new guidelines reflect a broader push across Asia to manage overtourism and its impact on local communities. It is a major pilgrimage site in Maharashtra, dedicated to Lord Vitthal, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and his consort Rukmini. Sadashiva Bane Carries Mother On His Shoulder For 220 Kms As per Sadashiv, a long-time devotee of Pandharpur Vitthal, has been walking to the temple for the past 15 years. However, he always dreamed about taking his mother on his shoulders and carrying her to Vitthal's darshan via the traditional dindi padayatra. Well, it looks like his long-time wish just came true. Man Takes Mother On 66,000 Kms Pilgrimage In a similar case, earlier, a man named Dakshinmurthy Krishna Kumar took his 73-year-old mother to a 'Matru Seva Sankalp Yatra' – a travel expedition to fulfil her bucket list on a 2001 model scooter.
