Watch: State trooper arrests speeding woman rushing her dying dog to the vet
The unnamed woman's dog had reportedly been hit by a car on July 14. In dashcam footage from Trooper Holly Romero, the woman can be seen speeding through an intersection.
The trooper pursued the vehicle along the highway until they stopped in front of a veterinarian's office.
Romero struggles to arrest the woman while she explains the perilous state of her canine.
'You're going to cut off traffic because your dog is dying?' Romero asks as she cuffs the woman.
The video has since gone viral with many people expressing outrage at the trooper's actions. A petition on change.org has over 30,000 signatures to investigate and fire Romero.

The report said Richardson was detained on Sunday 27 July and released the following day. In the police report, the officer said: 'I was told Coleman did not want to participate any further in the investigation and declined to be a victim.' Richardson won the 100m at the 2023 world championships in Budapest and took silver at the Paris Games last summer. She also helped the 4x100m relay team to an Olympic gold.

Kim Zolciak admitted to stealing her daughter Ariana Biermann's money on Thursday — and the model watched her mom's confession from the front row of a live audience. The 47-year-old appeared on Watch What Happens Live, where she told host Andy Cohen that she spent all of her daughter's modeling income from her teen years - but she insisted that she only used it to pay bills out of desperation amid her home foreclosure drama and her ugly divorce from her estranged husband Kroy Biermann, 39. Ghislaine Maxwell moved to prison camp, Trump says no plea for pardon
Ghislaine Maxwell has been transferred from a Florida prison to a lower-security facility in Texas to continue serving her 20-year sentence for helping the late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse underage girls, the US Bureau of Prisons said on Friday. Maxwell's move from FCI Tallahassee, a low-security prison, to the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, comes a week after she met with Deputy US attorney general Todd Blanche, who said he wanted to speak with her about anyone else who may have been involved in Epstein's crimes.
