Syrian Observatory: 14 civilians, including two girls, killed in Homs city, countryside since early August
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published a new report on Tuesday documenting systematic murders, assassinations, and sectarian-based targeting in Syria. It recorded the killing of 14 civilians in Homs city and countryside since the beginning of August, including two girls.
The Britain-based Observatory emphasized that impunity is the common denominator in these crimes, reinforcing a general sense among the population that civilian lives have no value in the face of the tyranny of weapons and chaos. This deepens the social rift and intensifies fear and suspicion in society.
In detailing the incidents, the Observatory documented several horrific crimes during August, including the kidnapping and killing of young men and children, armed attacks on homes in various areas of Homs and its countryside, and the discovery of the bodies of members of previously kidnapped families.
It should be noted that these crimes are just one part of a series of violations taking place in various parts of Syria, where liquidation operations continue unabated.

Russia Prepares to Test New Missile Ahead of Alaska Summit
Washington - Saba: Reuters quoted American researchers and a Western security source as saying that Moscow is working on testing what appears to be a new nuclear-powered cruise missile, as Russian President Vladimir Putin prepares for talks with his US counterpart, Donald Trump, next Friday in Alaska. According to Reuters, these assessments were reached separately by Jeffrey Lewis of the California-based Middlebury Institute of International Studies and Decker Eveleth of the Virginia-based research and analysis organization CNA, by examining images taken by commercial satellite company Planet Labs in recent weeks and up until Tuesday. The two researchers agreed in their conclusions that the images reveal extensive activity at the Pankovo test site on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago in the Barents Sea, including increases in personnel, equipment, vessels, and aircraft related to previous tests of the 9M730 Burevestnik missile. "We can see all the activity going on at the test site, which is massive amounts of supplies coming in to support operations and movement around the place where they're actually launching the missile," Jeffrey Lewis said. A Western security source confirmed to Reuters that Moscow is preparing to test the Burevestnik missile. Lewis indicated that the test could take place this week, raising the possibility that it could impact the summit between the Russian and US presidents in Alaska. The Russian president has previously described the missile as "invincible" against current and future missile defenses. Lewis, Eveleth, and two arms control experts noted that the missile's development has gained greater importance for Russia since the US president announced in January the development of the US "Gold Dome" missile defense shield. However, experts say it is unclear whether the missile is capable of penetrating the defenses, and that it will spread radiation along its flight path. Researchers and experts said the missile test was scheduled to take place long before the Trump-Putin summit was announced last week.

Zionist enemy forces penetrate al-Quneitra countryside, move between Syrian positions
London - Saba: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Tuesday that an Israeli enemy forces patrol penetrated the town of Taranja, north of al-Quneitra, Syria, stopping in the town square and then continuing towards the town of Hadar. The Observatory also stated that an Israeli patrol moved from Tal al-Ahmar and headed towards the outskirts of the village of al-Asbah, without any clashes with residents. It indicated that enemy forces penetrated after midnight last night into the villages of al-Arda and Maariyah in the western Daraa countryside, within al-Yarmouk Basin area, using approximately 12 military vehicles. The Observatory confirmed that during the operation, the forces arrested two young men from the village of al-Arda, located between the villages of Abdeen and Maariyah. No information has yet been received regarding the motives and reasons for the arrests. Yesterday, an Israeli force carried out a limited incursion into the village of al-Samadaniyya al-Gharbiyya in the central al-Quneitra countryside, entering the area with a patrol of three military vehicles. This incursion coincided with intense warplane flights in the area, heightening tensions on the Syrian-Israeli border. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print more of (International)
