Karnataka rain: Moderate rainfall expected in Bengaluru on August 7 after overnight rains
As per the observation data of India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bengaluru, recorded at 8.30 a.m. on August 7, Bengaluru city station recorded 25.4 mm rainfall, the HAL airport and the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) stations recorded 4 mm and 0.6 mm, respectively. The minimum temperature recorded at 8.30 a.m. in Bengaluru city was 20.6 degree Celsius, and at HAL and KIA, the minimum temperatures were 20.4 and 21.2 degree Celsius, respectively.
The IMD forecast for Bengaluru city and the neighbourhood for the next 48 hours states that there would be generally cloudy sky. 'Moderate rain, thundershowers likely at isolated places towards evening or night. Maximum and minimum temperature are very likely to be around 29°C and 20°C respectively,' IMD forecast stated.
At 7 a.m. on August 7, IMD issued a nowcast stating that Bengaluru rural and Bengaluru urban areas are likely to receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by lightning and gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph at isolated places in next three hours.

"If you're travelling today, please be aware of potential delays and allow additional time for your journey, especially with traffic moving slower than usual. 8 Killed As Wall Collapses Amid Heavy Rain In Delhi
New Delhi: At least eight people were killed after a wall collapsed amid heavy rain in Delhi's Hari Nagar this morning, officials said. The fire department received a call about the incident at 9.16 am, and three fire trucks were rushed to the spot along with police teams, the Delhi Fire Service said. The victims were identified as Shabibul (30), Rabibul (30), Muttu Ali (45), Rubina (25), Dolly (25), Rukhsana (6) and Haseena (7). The exact cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained, officials said. The national capital recorded heavy rain overnight, causing waterlogging in several areas. In the 24 hours till 8.30 am on Saturday, Delhi's primary weather station at Safdarjung recorded 78.7 mm of rainfall, Pragati Maidan 100 mm, Lodhi Road 80 mm, Pusa 69 mm, and Palam 31.8 mm, according to data shared by the weather department. The temperature was recorded at 23.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning, 3.2 notches below the average.

Heavy rain forecast for parts of Bengal till Aug 13
Kolkata: The Meteorological office on Saturday predicted heavy rain for parts of West Bengal till August 13. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Kolkata's Alipore, heavy rain will continue in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar districts of north Bengal till August 13. According to the weather department, the monsoon axis is extending over Firozpur, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Kheri, Patna, Bankura, and Digha and extending to the northeast Bay of Bengal. In addition, there is a cyclonic circulation over the coasts of Bangladesh and West Bengal. Under the influence of the two systems, rain will occur across West Bengal for the next few days. In South Bengal, heavy rain is likely in Bankura, East Burdwan, West Burdwan, Birbhum, West Midnapore, and South 24 Parganas districts, along with isolated very heavy rain in Purulia district. "The intensity of rain has reduced in south Bengal, while rain will continue in north Bengal districts. Several rain warnings have been issued in this regard," said a Met department official. Orange alert for rain have been issued for Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, and Alipurduar districts for August 9 and 12. Orange alerts will also be in place in Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts on August 13. Yellow alerts will be in place throughout the week in Malda, Cooch Behar, North Dinajpur, and South Dinajpur districts. Yellow alert has also been issued in most districts of South Bengal, including Kolkata, Howrah, and Bankura, on August 9 and 10. An orange alert has been issued in Purulia for August 9 and 10. However, the rainfall may decrease slightly in several districts of south Bengal, although light to moderate rain will continue. Rain are likely to be accompanied by gusty winds of up to 40 kilometres per hour on Saturday. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea off the West Bengal-Odisha coast. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Kolkata for the next few days. The maximum temperature in Kolkata on Friday was 29.2 degrees Celsius, 2.8 degrees Celsius below normal. The minimum temperature was 25.7 degrees Celsius, 0.8 degrees below normal.
