Kent State defeats Eastern Michigan 76-70

KENT, Ohio (AP) — Jalen Sullinger's 18 points helped Kent State defeat Eastern Michigan 76-70 in a regular season finale on Friday.
Both teams advance to the Mid-America Conference tournament beginning Thursday at Rocket Arena in Cleveland. No. 3-seeded Kent State will battle sixth-seeded Western Michigan and No. 7-seed Eastern Michigan will take on No. 2-seeded Miami (Ohio) in quarterfinal-round games.
Sullinger went 6 of 13 from the field (6 for 9 from 3-point range) for the Golden Flashes (21-10, 11-7). VonCameron Davis scored 16 points while going 5 of 10 from the floor, including 1 for 3 from 3-point range, and 5 for 7 from the line and added five rebounds and four steals. Cian Medley shot 4 for 13, including 3 for 7 from beyond the arc to finish with 11 points.
The Eagles (16-15, 9-9) were led in scoring by Christian Henry, who finished with 18 points, six assists, two steals and two blocks. Jalin Billingsley added 15 points and eight rebounds for Eastern Michigan. Yusuf Jihad finished with 14 points.
Davis scored nine points in the first half and Kent State went into halftime trailing 36-31. Henry scored Kent State's final seven points as they finished off a six-point victory.

Associated Press DENVER (AP) — Mike Yastrzemski's two-run double in the eighth inning keyed another San Francisco rally, and the Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 10-7 on Wednesday night for their seventh straight victory. Willy Adames homered and drove in three early runs for the Giants, but they trailed 6-3 entering the eighth before coming back against reliever Tyler Kinley (0-3). Adames, Heliot Ramos and Dominic Smith singled to load the bases with one out, and Casey Schmitt walked to bring in a run. Yastrzemski then lined a double off the right-center wall to tie it. Tyler Fitzgerald laid down a bunt against Zach Agnos, and Schmitt slid around the tag of catcher Hunter Goodman with the go-ahead run. Schmitt was initially ruled out but the call was overturned following a replay review. San Francisco added three insurance runs in the ninth on Wilmer Flores' sacrifice fly, and RBI singles by Schmitt and Yastrzemski. Goodman hit his 11th homer in the bottom half and the Rockies had two runners on when Orlando Arcia grounded back to closer Camilo Doval for the final out. Associated Press INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Bennedict Mathurin scored 27 points off the bench, Tyrese Haliburton added 22 and the Indiana Pacers reclaimed the lead in the NBA Finals by beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 116-107 in Game 3 on Wednesday night. Haliburton also had 11 assists and nine rebounds for the Pacers, who got 21 points from Pascal Siakam and enjoyed a whopping 49-18 edge in bench points. The Pacers, who lost Game 2 in Oklahoma City, improved to 10-0 since mid-March in the game immediately following a loss. "So many different guys chipped in," Haliburton said. Jalen Williams scored 26 points, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 24 and Chet Holmgren had 20 for the Thunder, who led by five going into the fourth. Game 4 is back in Indiana on Friday night.
