The festival, which began in 2017, had been held at York Racecourse before it switched to Castle Howard in 2023. The event did not take place in 2024.Mr Lowery said they were eager to return to the Knavesmire and, despite gaining permission from the racecourse, were refused by Make It York.The tourist organisation manages the land on behalf of City of York Council."We were told that it would have to go out to an expression of interest after four months. Once the expression of interest came in February, we applied. Yesterday we found out that we were unsuccessful and there would be no event," Mr Lowery said."I'm gutted. As a York person, for me there's no better feeling than being on that stage and seeing thousands of people happy and enjoying themselves."Mr Lowery said they had tried to keep prices down and had previously worked with food banks to offer free tickets."A lot of people can't afford to go to these festivals and concerts so it's a real shame that something affordable can't happen in the city," he said.
Mr Lowery said with regards to concerns about traffic and licensing, the team behind the event had "been there, we've done all that"."We spent £25,000 the last time we were there doing traffic. We've never had any trouble with traffic for the last two years."We feel as though we would have met X, Y, and Z if we were asked to do X, Y, and Z."The organiser said it was now too late to find an alternate venue for 2025 but was hopeful for next year."We won't give up," he added.

She is believed to have departed the country and features on the National Police Wanted List. Revealing details about the traumatic experience, the friend explained how his wife Camilla, 39 had become too frightened to venture outside at times due to the woman's behaviour. The friend said: "This woman is unhinged and nobody knows what her next move will be. Camilla has been left petrified about leaving the house with the children. "She's confided in friends that she has even run through scenarios in her head of how she would protect them if this individual were to approach- that's how real the fear has become. BBC forced to cancel Ozzy Osbourne documentary for heartbreaking reason
Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home was pulled from the schedule at the last minute. The BBC abruptly pulled Ozzy Osbourne's poignant documentary from its schedule last night, leaving fans devastated. The film, titled 'Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home', was set to air on BBC One at 9pm on Monday, August 18. The touching doc comes shortly after the tragic death of the beloved Black Sabbath frontman last month. However, it was mysteriously cancelled at the eleventh hour without any explanation. Billed as a 'moving and inspirational account of the last chapter' of Ozzy's life, the documentary promised 'unique and intimate access to the whole Osbourne family', including his wife Sharon, and their children Kelly and Jack. However, it has now come to light that the BBC had no option but to halt the broadcast after concerns were raised by Ozzy's family about the speed with which the show was produced. This was amid the BBC's scramble against Paramount+ to air the star's final months, according to the Mirror. This revelation comes as Ozzy's son, Jack, shared a heart-wrenching glimpse into the changes in The Osbourne household just weeks before Ozzy passed away at the age of 76. A source told The Sun that there were discussions behind the scenes suggesting that the BBC may have 'rushed' some of the scenes in the new documentary. They said: "There have been conversations behind the scenes that maybe the BBC were rushing their show on Ozzy out - especially because Paramount+ also had a film in the pipeline." It was also revealed that the original plan for the BBC's production was to create a 10-part series called 'Home To Roost', documenting Ozzy and wife Sharon's move back to the UK. However, following his death, it was later decided to make it a standalone film. An insider shared: "What mattered the most to the family was the overall tone and theme of the programme, which features Ozzy and Sharon in one of their last interviews together. '"It started to feel like the goal being pursued was that the BBC and the makers of the film were to get the show on air faster than the Paramount+ doc. Naturally that has caused some concerns with the family." Ozzy passed away at 76 on July 22 from a reported heart attack, just weeks after reuniting with the band on stage for The Back To The Beginning farewell concert in Birmingham. The much-loved Brummie had been filming his return back to the UK after dreaming of making his comeback for years. His homecoming was set to be documented in the BBC TV film, however, fans were left disappointed when it was abruptly removed from listings at the last minute.
