New Trailer For Mark Ruffalo's HBO Crime Drama Series TASK — GeekTyrant
The story is set in the working-class neighborhoods of suburban Philadelphia, and follows Ruffalo as an FBI agent assigned to head up a special task force targeting a series of increasingly violent robberies.
The twist is that one of the criminals is a seemingly normal family man, played by Ozark 's Tom Pelphrey, who's pulled into a spiral of desperation and crime.
The supporting cast includes Emilia Jones ( CODA ), Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu ( The Underground Railroad ), Fabien Frankel ( House of the Dragon ), Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Silvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox, and Martha Plimpton.
Ingelsby serves as creator, writer, and showrunner, and he's joined by executive producers and directors Jeremiah Zagar ( We the Animals ) and Salli Richardson-Whitfield ( Winning Time ). Ruffalo also pulls double duty as EP, with production support from wiip and Public Record.
Task looks to be another slow-burn, emotionally resonant crime story with a focus on the blurry lines between law and criminality.
The series premieres Sunday, September 7 at 9pm on HBO and will stream next day on HBO Max.

3 Officers Injured in Virginia Shooting
Three sheriff's deputies were injured in southern Virginia on Wednesday during an hourslong standoff with a man who opened fire on them, local officials said. The officers, from the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office, were met with gunfire as they served warrants at a house in Pittsville, a rural community, Sheriff Michael Taylor said at a news conference on Wednesday night. All three were struck by shrapnel, not bullets, he said. Their injuries were not serious, and one officer has been released from the hospital, Sheriff Taylor said. The officers were serving warrants for brandishing a firearm and trespassing, as well as a protective order, he said. After a hourslong standoff and negotiation, the suspect, identified as James Andru Lehnerd, was taken into custody. Mr. Lehnerd has not been charged. The incident appeared to be isolated, Sheriff Taylor said. Photos from the scene in the town of Gretna showed a heavy law enforcement response that included fire trucks, ambulances and at least one armored truck.

Taylor Swift is set to bring more glitter pen songs on The Life of a Showgirl. The superstar shared that Max Martin and Shellback are back as the sole producers, along with Swift, for her 12th studio album. Swift revealed the news on Wednesday night during her episode of the New Heights podcast. On the show, the singer called Martin her 'mentor' before describing their work together. 'The three of us have made some of my favorite songs that I've ever done before,' she said, referring to some of Swift's biggest hits such as '22,' 'Shake It Off,' and 'Blank Space.' 'They're just geniuses in different avenues, in different ways,' Swift said of the producer duo. She touched on the intervening years where she worked on surprise album folklore and evermore, calling those projects 'esoteric.' 'I was just kind of exploring and trying to challenge myself as a writer,' she said of that time. The time apart proved to be just what Swift, Martin, and Shellback needed.
