Ryan Reynolds blasted for 'blatant PR stunt' as he fails to win over fans amid Blake Lively lawsuit
Ryan Reynolds has been slammed after appearing on Conan O'Brien's podcast - with listeners declaring his latest appearance was a 'blatant PR stunt.'
The 48-year-old actor, who has been embroiled in wife Blake Lively 's legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, was a guest on the 62-year-old's show Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend.
Reynolds discussed his early career and his comedy regrets while unleashing quip after quip but failed to win over the audience and, notably, did not mention his wife or the ongoing drama, much to the chagrin of listeners.
'At this point, I think it's Ryan Reynolds that needs a friend,' one user commented.
'Tbh I don't even care about his business behind the scenes with the lawsuit and whatnot... the problem is that Ryan is not even remotely funny. This is the only time I've ever questioned Conan's judgement,' declared one.
Another user shared: 'Thoughts and prayers to Conan and the gang for having to spend time with Ryan,' while another observed that the conversation 'feels like he's just reciting jokes he came up with weeks ago and not actually having a real conversation.'
'"I regret hurting someone 22 years ago." Ryan you can't think of anyyyyyyyyone else from more recent times? Interesting,' snarked someone else.
'I loved the gigantic elephant in the room,' joked another listener.
'Not exactly the most subtle of manipulated PR moves, Ryan Reynolds. I would love to see the full list of topics that Conan was asked not to mention in this interview,' one curious fan wrote.
'Ryan and Blake's PR team is working hella overtime these days huh? lol,' chimed in another.
Someone else described the Emmy-award winning actor as a 'personality demon.'
'He's not funny,' they declared. 'He just goes around pretending to be other people.'
In the near hour-long interview, Reynolds spoke about his rise to fame and joked about his regrets - with the interview being kept light-hearted with no mention of his recent controversies surrounding his involvement with the It Ends With Us drama or Lively.
The Deadpool actor was talking about his creative process, when O'Brien asked him about his projects.
After praising O'Brien for never 'punching down' on people during his comedic sets, Reynolds claimed that he too enjoys being the butt of the joke and rarely makes fun of people.
'Like I've done it I did it once in my life and I deeply, deeply regretted it,' the actor admitted.
He failed to win over the audience and notably, did not mention his wife or the ongoing drama, much to the chagrin of the listeners
'It was 22 years ago and it was such a lesson I'll never forget it,' he continued.
'It was a little bit like when the just the comedian or the guy with the microphone starts picking on someone, and you're just like they don't have a microphone as well. It's not fair you know,' he explained. 'It left a mark that I'll never ever [forget].'
Reynolds said he felt so terrible he ended up sending a 'long letter' and a case of champagne, but later read a story that left him horrified.
'I read a story about his wife saying that he fell off the wagon back in June [and] I had no idea,' he admitted.
'This was before you don't just Google someone, like I didn't know,' he anguished.
'So you mocked him and then your apology was to send him the substance that he had successfully kicked,' O'Brien asked.
'And then so that's where I got the lesson to never apologize,' Reynolds joked.
Earlier in the week, Reynolds was seen leaving a studio in New York where he had filmed an appearance on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert - his first TV interview since Lively filed her complaint against Baldoni.
The Gossip Girl alum has been embroiled in a bitter and extremely public feud with her former costar for months.
It began after she filed a lawsuit against Justin in December, accusing him of sexual harassment and creating a 'hostile work environment on set.'
Justin, 41, retaliated with his own $400 million filing against the actress, along with her husband with the brutal melee now scheduled for a trial on March 29, 2026. All parties have denied the claims.

Beloved celebrity hairstylist, 27, dies during day's boating on Lake Michigan
A celebrated hairstylist died after falling off a yacht in Lake Michigan, leaving her loved ones heartbroken as they grapple with her untimely death. Zahrie Walls, 27, was boating with her friends near Navy Pier in Chicago when she toppled from the vessel into the water at around 5:30pm on Saturday. She was unresponsive when she was pulled from the lake and first responders rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was tragically pronounced dead. Police are still investigating her death. It remains unclear how the beloved stylist fell off the boat, but her mother believes the lake's strong currents made her lose her grounding. 'Anybody can lose a battle with Lake Michigan,' Kizzy Wells, Walls' mother, told the Chicago Sun Times. 'Those currents don't play fair.' A friend, who rented the boat, invited Walls to come with her and spend the day in the sun, Wells said. 'I felt in my heart that something wasn't right,' she told the outlet, recalling the moment her daughter's friend called her and said Walls was going to the hospital. Chicago Fire Department's Jason Lach revealed to the Chicago Tribune their rescue team had to respond to at least two dozen water-related calls over the weekend, which included pulling people from the water and putting out boat fires. Other than Walls, Lach said at least two other people died in the water. The devastated mom described Walls as a hard worker and provider whose 'whole focus was to take care of her family.' The Chicago-based hairdresser and owner of Z Style Suites was known for her clientele of celebrities and influencers. With more than 76,000 Instagram followers, Walls' page is flooded with her patrons' glamorous end results after she styled their hair. Her mother revealed Walls' love for hair started while she was in high school, when she would practice on her best friend, Kenneka Jenkins. Jenkins horrifically passed away at 19 years old in 2017. Her body was found in a freezer at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Since Walls' sudden death, Instagram and Facebook have been flooded with tear-jerking tributes to her. 'I woke up to this and couldn't help but [wonder] why you, you will be missed truly,' one woman wrote. 'I love you forever my sister one of the greatest friends I've ever had in my life I'm so sorry,' another said. 'I love you so much princess I'm so so confused and hurt...I'm crying I'm saddened so many emotions it's hard to focus.' On Sunday, dozens of people crowded around Walls' salon for a balloon releasing ceremony to honor her life and achievements. 'I knew she was special when I first gave birth to her,' Wells said through her tears at the event. 'I was only 19 years old, and I didn't want my baby to struggle like I did. I supported her in every way.' Video shows guests holding yellow, gold and white balloons before letting them go up into the sky. Walls died during Black Yacht Weekend, an annual 'celebration of community, culture, and connection' in Lake Michigan, according to the event's website. In a Sunday statement addressing the fatal incident, organizers said Walls was not connected to the event or in its area when she fell into the water.

Travis Kelce receives special award for 'extraordinary' achievement
Travis Kelce has been honored by the state of Ohio for his 'extraordinary commitment, compassion and service' to charity work in his hometown of Cleveland. The Kansas City Chiefs superstar launched his own non-profit organization in Cleveland - Eighty-Seven & Running - back in 2015 with the goal of 'empowering underprivileged youth'. Over the past decade he has worked tirelessly to ensure it continues to help underserved young people strive to become productive citizens, with his foundation offering resources and enrichment opportunities for communities through fundraising, athletic programs, mentoring and more. And to mark its 10-year anniversary, Kelce has been awarded The Oustanding Leadership Award by the Won't Quit Foundation - another non-profit organization in Cleveland. Darnell T. Brewer, a member of Ohio's House of Representatives, announced the three-time Super Bowl winner has received the special honor. 'This award is given out to honor an individual who exemplifies extraordinary commitment, compassion, and service. This award recognizes someone who has gone above and beyond to uplift their community, inspire their peers, and make a lasting impact on the world around them. 'Through consistent action, integrity, and selflessness, they embody the true spirit of leadership and the mission of the Won't Quit Foundation. 'In a world that deeply needs strong, compassionate leaders, your example stands out as a beacon of hope and inspiration. 'Your consistent efforts to create positive change have not gone unnoticed, and this recognition is a celebration of the lives you've touched and the legacy you continue to build.' Fresh off the back of his award win, Kelce enjoyed a round of golf on Saturday at a luxury Hamptons course as he splurged on a private helicopter to take him and a close friend out east. Travis and girlfriend Taylor Swift were spotted in New York City on Friday night grabbing dinner at Italian restaurant Torrisi, after the Chiefs tight end took a private jet to the Big Apple earlier in the day. And a day later he ventured to East Hampton Golf Club with his good friend Ross Travis as they hit the links. Kelce, who wore a white polo shirt, white baseball cap and khaki shorts, was photographed holding a canned beverage as he walked alongside his former Kansas City teammate Travis. The ultra-exclusive club, which opened in 2000, reportedly has an initiation fee of $400,000 for members, who are also said to need a net worth of at least $1million or earn more than $200,000 per year. According to the club's website, it's been recognized as a top 50 golf club in the country with a 'platinum club designation.' The 6,400-yard course also bans carts outside of members who are 'unable to walk the course' due to physical impairments. The club has just 250 memberships, its website says. Nonetheless, Kelce - who will top $111million in career earnings this season - was welcomed to the course for a day during the Chiefs offseason. The 35-year-old and his friends could be seen returning to the helicopter later in the day, as he held his golf shoes in one hand while stepping aboard.
