Welsh rookie Darcey Harry won her first Ladies European Tour event with a three-shot victory at the Hulencourt Women's Open in Belgium.The 22-year-old shot a final round of 68 to take the title ahead of France's Nastasia Nadaud and New Zealand's Amelia Garvey.Harry hit a remarkable five birdies and an eagle on the par-five 13th hole to storm her way to victory.Having only turned pro last year, she earned her place on the tour after coming through qualifying in December. "I don't even know what to say right now," she said after securing victory. "I'm so excited. I didn't think I'd ever picture myself winning on the tour, so it's so nice to know I've finally done it."I think the last putt was probably the most nervous I've ever been in my life."This victory gets her into the AIG Women's Open, where she will be playing on her home course Royal Porthcawl - something she admitted was on her mind."I was thinking that walking down the 18th and I was pretty nervous about not getting into that, so I think that's another huge win for me this week."India's Avani Prashanth had started the final day in the lead but fell away with a round of 75.Ireland's Lauren Walsh finished in a share of fifth place on seven-under, while England's Cara Gainer finished tied seventh on six-under par.

Today star Danika Mason appears to have been in a golf cart that crashed during a charity golf day last Friday, with her Nine colleague Karl Stefanovic taking great delight in highlighting the incident on Monday's show. Stefanovic - who was also at Aussie surf legend Mick Fanning's charity day in Queensland - put up a shot of a golf cart bearing Mason's name after it seemingly crashed into a lake on the course. 'Can you explain this shot? This is at the Mick Fanning golf day on the weekend, I just want to take you to this shot here,' Stefanovic told viewers. 'Just on that golf cart there, which is in the ocean, can you explain what happened there?' A laughing Mason replied, 'Hey, that's a sign of a good weekend!' Mason was sharing the cart with surfer Macy Callaghan and the Nine footy reporter obviously saw the lighter side of the unplanned excursion, sharing Today's post about it on her Instagram story on Monday morning. Daily Mail Australia does not suggest alcohol was a factor in whatever happened to Mason's golf cart - but plenty of other attendees at Fanning's fundraiser were up-front about having a few beverages during their round. AFL WAG Bec Judd revealed in an Instagram post that she'd been 'having too much fun' while raising funds for Aussies who'd been hit by the floods in the northern rivers region of NSW. She listed things she learned during the day at the course in Coolangatta. 'A bar and entertainment at most of the 18 holes is very dangerous,' she wrote, before adding, 'Shoeys aren't that bad if the shoes are clean.' Judd admitted in a later post to 'having the time of your life dancing in the buggy, slightly drunk and distracted' with the golf day's Instagram account also posting a photo of her drinking that shoey. The event - which also attracted stars like footy legend Brendan Fevola, singer Shannon Noll, comedian and Nine star Hamish Blake, AFL star Mason Cox and tennis great Dylan Alcott - featured espresso martini bars, lashings of Fanning's Balter beer and even backflipping motocross daredevils on the course. Videos from the event showed one participant appearing to be thrown into a lake, shocked stars hitting exploding golf balls, and four male players pulling their pants down and mooning the camera. One shot posted by the day's Instagram account showed Callaghan having a drink of some description while in the driver's seat of the buggy but Mason wasn't a passenger at the time. Fanning's golf days have been a stunning success since they were first held in 2022, and this year the celebrities could've bagged a stunning $1million and a Mercedes-Benz if they hit a hole-in-one. 'Since 2022, we have raised almost $2million, which is something I am very proud of,' the former world surfing champion told Daily Mail Australia. 'I'm not much of a golfer myself, I just like having a hit with my mates. 'Knowing it is for such a good cause, that motivates me.' Mason is now vying for the title of Australian TV's hardest-working star as she juggles covering the NRL with her work on Today. She often goes from covering matches until late at night on a Thursday before being front and centre in the studio with hosts Stefanovic and Sarah Abo before the crack of dawn, then backing up to cover the NRL once again on Friday night, and then again during the Sunday afternoon match. This Sunday she was at Homebush as wild scenes hit the Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs clash, with play halted due to dangerous weather as lighting strikes forced both teams from the field. It was the first time an NRL match had been suspended due to dangerous weather since an Anzac Day hailstorm struck in 2015.

Robert MacIntyre falls short as JJ Spaun clinches US Open win
Robert MacIntyre fell just short in his bid to win the US Open after JJ Spaun broke his heart with a dazzling display at the death. MacIntyre burst into contention to become Scotland's first major winner since 1999 on Sunday at a rain-soaked Oakmont after producing an excellent two-under-par 68. That made him the clubhouse leader at one over and he looked set for at least a play-off against Spaun, who had two holes to play. But the American first sent a stunning 309-yard drive onto the green at the short par-four 17th and two-putted for a birdie before sinking a mammoth 64-foot putt on the 18th green to seal glory. MacIntyre was watching open-mouthed in the scorer's office and could do nothing but applaud his opponent. He became a major champion for the first time and was the only man to finish in the red with a score of one under. While the 17th hole helped Spaun's dreams come true, it killed Tyrell Hatton's. The Englishman was in a five-way tie for the lead at one over when he found himself still in the rough after three shots. He bogeyed that and then the 18th to finish three over. Spaun may consider the thunderstorm at around 4pm local time (9pm BST) to be divine intervention. Before the heavens opened at Oakmont and forced a 96-minute delay, the first-round leader was five over for his round after eight holes. But while leaders Sam Burns and Adam Scott floundered in the soaking conditions after the resumption, Spaun found his best game and birdies at the 12th, 14th, 17th and 18th took him to glory. Indeed, Burns and Scott could not cope after the restart as they seemed in competition to see who could find the worst positions in the rough. Burns was the overnight leader at four under but his round disintegrated after the resumption, with two double bogeys in an ugly round of eight over par to finish tied for seventh on four over. Scott, hoping to win a major for the first time in 12 years, fared even worse, going round in 79. Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler ended up tied for seventh after impressive rounds, while Rory McIlroy produced his best round of a difficult week to finish on seven over.

From nightmare to dreamland J J Spaun began his final round of the US Open scoring five on each of the first five holes. At that point, he must have thought his dream was dead in the water. Credit where it is due, the American somehow managed to reset mentally and clawed his way back towards the top of the leaderboard. Walking to that sixth tee, had you told him he would win this tournament, even the player may have questioned your sanity. He proved one thing today, if you remain positive and give it your all, anything is possible. Something that we all should consider about life in general, never give up, anything is possible with application and belief.
