'I need a break': Country star taking time to ‘figure out what's next'

Kelsea Ballerini is manifesting a chill summer.
After wrapping up her first arena tour and finishing her first season as a judge on 'The Voice,' the country music star wants to take some time to relax and regroup.
'I need a break, and I've never been able to say that before, but I really think that it's time for me to just pump the brakes, figure out what's next, take the time to just have a summer,' Ballerini said during her recent interview on 'Today with Jenna and Friends.'
'Every time I say I have time off, something happens,' the platinum-selling singer joked. 'But I'm very open to whatever is out there.'
Ballerini hopes her summer itinerary includes going to the beach, learning to cook a new meal and spending time with her dogs, Dibs and Milo.
Aside from a performance this Friday at the CMA Fest, Ballerini doesn't appear to have any upcoming performances or appearances scheduled, according to her website.
This year has been a particularly eventful year for the 'Peter Pan' singer. Her tour, which ran from January to April, supported her fifth studio album, 'Patterns,' which she released in October.
In March, Ballerini released a deluxe edition of 'Patterns,' which featured five additional songs.
She also signed on for her first season as a judge on 'The Voice,' which wrapped last month. During her 'Today' appearance, she explained that it was a completely different experience than what she was used to.
'It's been such a beautiful season of doing things that are out of my comfort zone and bigger than I've ever done, and it's been really fulfilling. I love being in that seat,' she said.
As for whether she'd ever return to 'The Voice,' Ballerini said, 'Never say never. I think it's all about timing.'

Kelly Clarkson Postpones Las Vegas Residency to Be ‘Fully Present' During Family Matter: ‘I Am Sincerely Sorry'

Kelly Clarkson is temporarily stepping away from her Las Vegas residency due to family matters. In a statement posted to X on Wednesday night, the three-time Grammy winner announced she is postponing the rest of the August dates for her Studio Sessions residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace so she can be 'fully present' while her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, is ill. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.' This isn't the first time Clarkson has delayed her Studio Sessions. Back in July, the singer pushed the opening of her residency due to vocal issues. 'We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans,' she wrote in a statement at the time. 'I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow's opening at Caesars. The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y'all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.' Clarkson's residency was announced back in February. Her next performance is set for Nov. 7, just eight days before it was originally set to end on Nov. 15. Kelly Clarkson's Pals Worry She's ‘Taking on Too Much' With ‘The Voice' Gig: She's ‘Running on Fumes' (Exclusive)

Kelly Clarkson is a busy woman – and she's about to get busier! Aside from juggling her talk show and a residency in Las Vegas, Clarkson is adding even more work to her already-packed schedule by agreeing to serve as a coach on The Voice: Battle of Champions, and according to a source, friends are worried it'll tip her over the edge. While the show isn't set to premiere until spring 2026, a source exclusively tells Star that 'the feeling is she's taking on too much.' 'She hasn't pulled the plug on her talk show, but bosses want her to stay despite their differences, and conferences are in the works,' continues the source. 'She's juggling so many balls at once.' The source says the mother of two, 43 – who shares River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander, 9, with ex Brandon Blackstock – is 'completely burning out and running on fumes' as of late. 'It's astonishing to friends that she's taken this offer,' adds the source. 'Of course, The Voice is a favorite of hers and it'll be fun, but people would have preferred for her to pass on it, take a break, be with family and stop worrying about money and putting herself in the spotlight.' This comes weeks after Clarkson left fans shocked and disappointed when she canceled a Vegas concert less than two hours before it was scheduled to start. 'We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans'' she said in a statement shared on Instagram. 'The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice.' 'I want the shows to be perfect for y'all,' she shared, 'and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.' Now, the source spills to Star that she's 'clearly unable to handle' the pressure from all of her commitments. 'Why else would she be canceling gigs?' the source asks. 'There comes a point when a person has to say no, and it's arrived, but try telling that to Kelly.' Clarkson even has celebrity pal Dolly Parton concerned and hoping to 'get to the bottom of what's wrong,' according to another insider. 'Dolly's calling and checking in with Kelly and offering support,' the insider recently told Star. 'She wants to get together and have a talk, just the two of them, without any interruptions.' File Photo by Camden Hall/UPI | License Photo Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Jelly Roll sang "Mean Tweets" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday. The singer, 40, used his last monologue as guest host to introduce the song that included insulting tweets from social media users. "I want to say thank you to Jimmy and his staff. I cannot believe y'all let me in here. I can't believe I was invited. I thought I would have had to break in if I ever made it here," he said. "And most of all, I want to thank my fans. I literally would not be who I am without you. Truly, truly amazing. Truly amazing. Well, most of you." He then said that not everyone is nice. "But you know what? I've never been the one to let my haters get me down. So tonight I'm gonna debut my brand new single," he said. He sang lines like, "I used to hate Jelly Roll. I still do," and "Jelly Roll looks like a meth addict grabbed a microphone." The "Mean Tweets" segment has previously featured stars such as Chris Rock, George Clooney, Tom Hanks and Anne Hathaway. Jelly Roll's album Beautifully Broken arrived in October. He teamed up with Alex Warren for the song "Bloodline," which arrived in May. He has also been nominated for four MTV Video Music Awards.
