Saudi Arabia Joins Arab Summit Preparatory Meeting in Baghdad
The Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed Al-Khuraiji, on Thursday took part in the Preparatory Meeting of the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad, on behalf of the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During the meeting, participants discussed the draft agenda for the 34th Ordinary Session of the Council of the Arab League at the Summit Level, taking place in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on May 17, 2025.
Moreover, they reviewed the proposed resolutions set to be adopted at the Summit, in addition to discussing the latest regional developments.
Last week, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, received an official invitation from the Iraqi President, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, to attend the upcoming Arab League Summit and the 5th Session of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, which Iraq is hosting this month.
During his speech at the Preparatory Meeting, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, underscored the significance of the upcoming summit which 'coincides with a pivotal moment in modern Arab history and carries great hopes,' he said, as quoted by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He noted that the Summit's agenda covers 'several decisions concerning a range of Arab issues,' most notably Gaza, Syria and Lebanon. He added that the Summit aims to send a unified message to address regional crises and strengthen Arab national security.

Saudi Investment Minister leads delegation to UK-Saudi Investment Summit in London

Khalid Al-Falih, is heading the Saudi delegation participating in the Saudi-UK Partnership and Investment Summit, which is being held on Wednesday at Mansion House in London. UK meeting hails Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in supporting humanitarian causes
Saudi Gazette report JERSEY — Senior representatives from donor countries and international humanitarian organizations attended the high-level meeting organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Pooled Fund Working Group (PFWG) in Jersey, the United Kingdom. At the end of the meeting, participants praised Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in supporting humanitarian causes. They highlighted the importance of maintaining this international momentum to ensure sustainable response efforts and amplify their impact on the ground. The meeting served as a key milestone in global efforts to enhance financing mechanisms and response to humanitarian needs. Saudi Representative in the Donor Support Group for OCHA and Assistant Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) for Planning and Development Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi participated in the meeting.
