Next shoppers easily add 'pop of colour' to home with 'quirky' £30 table lamp

Daily Record16-05-2025
Brightening up the home can be as simple as adding a vibrant table lamp into the mix and shoppers are calling this Next one 'incredibly pretty'
Adding colour into the home can completely transform a room and it doesn't have to be tricky. Shoppers have found an easy solution to brightening up dull areas of their space with a 'funky' table lamp from Next.
Retailing for £30, the confetti glass and exposed bulb table lamp will certainly stand out from the crowd and become a talking point in the room.
Contemporary and cool, the Colour Confetti Table Lamp measures H 25.5cm x D 12.5cm so will slot into a small space or a bedside table. Whether switched on or off, the table lamp gives a vibrancy to interiors, without being too much.
An exposed bulb table lamp is a trendy choice, and shoppers can also find options at Dunelm and Wayfair. The £22 Natalia Table Lamp from Dunelm is said to 'create a cosy atmosphere', according to customers.
WayFair have a playful option with their £34.99 Priscila Novelty Lamp. It features a monkey holding onto the bulb and has been rated 4.8 out of five by more than 150 shoppers.

But, if the Next lamp is still the favourite, other customers are on board, too. It has been rated 4.5 out of five by ten reviewers.
One person left a review that says: "Lovely, quirky little lamp. Bought 2 for the bedroom and they look fab. Bright bulb, which is included. Recommended!"
A second said: "Really beautiful little lamp. We bought two for our bedside tables. They do not take up much room, have a lovely warm light which is bright enough to read by and look incredibly pretty."
And a third shared: "Really love this lamp - it provides a nice pop of colour, and the light is very warm. The size is perfect for putting on a shelf."
However, not everyone was happy with the light emitted. Someone said it was too bright, writing: "I was quite surprised to find how bright it is.... not quite the soft golden glow I'd hoped for."
This wasn't the case for other people and another explained: "Looks exactly like it did online, lovely colours on base, when light is on it gives the whole room a cosy glow. Would recommend."
Some shoppers are so pleased they are buying multiple: "A beautiful lamp the colours are fabulous and will complete any room, I am thinking of purchasing another."
Another called the lamp 'lovely', going on to say it 'brightens up my dressing table beautifully'. And this person wrote: "Lovely, funky looking lamp. I bought one for myself it's a perfect size to sit in a shelf."
If the lamp is too colourful, those who favour a toned-down approach might want to consider the White Terrazzo Rechargeable Touch Wireless Table Lamp, also from Next.
Priced at £38, shoppers say it is 'very stylish' and, where the Colour Confetti Table Lamp needs to be plugged into a socket, this alternative is fully rechargeable, so there are no wires.
Shoppers can find the Colour Confetti Table Lamp from the Next website at £30, here.

Is It Time To Give The Divisive Jeans A Second Chance?

As part of my job, I spend hours scrolling through websites, tracking what's trending and what people are adding to their baskets. One morning, I stopped in my tracks - there they were again: M&S was selling a pair of jeggings with 11,870 reviews, a 4.4-star rating, and 75% of shoppers recommending them, already running low in stock. Jeggings defined a particular moment in fashion history. Picture this: Spring 2010, they were the skinny-fit staple you wore with a Chloé Paddington slung over your arm and an Alexander McQueen scarf looped around your neck. But while they promised the stretch of leggings with the look of jeans, many fell out of love with them because they weren't as comfortable as we hoped, never mind the the endless adjusting and inevitable elastane fatigue. But the day we never thought would come has arrived, and, now, they've been reimagined. Today's versions are softer, more sculpting, and cut from fabrics that lift and flatter, with elasticated high waistbands for ease. One M&S reviewer summed it up simply, saying they had 'waited for these to come back into stock' and that they love 'the fit'. According to Megan, a stylist at Silkfred, the jegging's enduring appeal comes from 'comfort and ease of movement while still giving you the streamlined look of denim.' She describes them as 'polarising' because they sit in the 'in-between space of jeans and leggings' and can instantly conjure memories of the early 2010s - the era of over-styled club looks, heavy eyeliner, and dodgy digital camera snaps. Still, she pointed out that for anyone who loves the feel of leggings and wants skinny silhouettes back in their wardrobe, jeggings are 'an incredibly practical option.' On whether we're seeing a genuine revival, Megan links the resurgence to fashion's wider knack for anything nostalgic, saying that with retailers like M&S reintroducing them, more brands are leaning into the late-2000sand early 2010s aesthetic. She doesn't expect them to dominate denim trends - 'we never saw a jegging on the runway' - but said the rise of comfort-first dressing and body-contouring styles is helping them find their audience again. While Megan believes jeggings will always carry a nostalgic edge, they can be rendered a classic style if worn in minimal ways. Her advice? 'They can look timeless when styled in a minimal, elevated way. Perhaps a dark indigo wash or black jeggings with a crisp, oversized shirt, a blazer, and pointed flats. The key is keeping the rest of the outfit simple and avoiding the over-styled early-2010s look we remember from their first heyday.' In short, jeggings may never reclaim their 2010 peak, but in fashion, no trend is ever truly gone for good. 1. M&S, Ultra High Ankle Leather Jeggings 2. M&S, High Waisted Jeggings Indigo Mix 3. Boden's 'beautiful' ballet flats are a 'total power shoe' and now have £67 off

Boden shoppers are raving about the chic and timeless ballet flats which are currently on sale with a 60% discount, taking them from £112 to under £45 Boden customers are rushing to grab a pair of 'stunning' ballet flats that are designed to match almost any outfit while they're on sale. Indeed, those who have already bagged the 'comfortable' Mary Janes have praised them as the 'ultimate power shoe'. The Penelope Mary Jane Flats in 'Latte Suede' usually sell for £112 but shoppers can nab them with a 60% discount, for a limited time. This reduces the price to a more affordable £44.80, offering a saving of over £67. The tan flats boast a stylish black capped toe and a strap that ensures your feet stay secure whilst remaining comfortable all day long. They are available in sizes EU 36 (UK 3.5) to EU 46 (UK 8.5), all of which are still in stock online. Described as a 'modern twist' on the classic Mary Janes, the Boden flats are guaranteed to be the perfect final touch to any outfit. They're made from responsibly sourced suede leather and have a man-made sole. If you like the shape but aren't fond of the colour, don't fret. The shoes also come in a metallic pink colourway, priced at £96, as well as red patent, £44.80, gold woven leather, £84, tan weave, £50.40, and black suede, £44.80. Meanwhile, White Stuff's Winnie Woven Ballerina Flats are on sale for £38 down from £75. Available in sizes three to eight, the shoes are made from a woven fabric with memory foam soles for all-day comfort. Alternatively, Next's Nude and Black Ballerinas Shoes are priced at £24. These flats, available in sizes three to nine, feature a round toe, flat heel and a bow detail at the front, reports the Manchester Evening News. Meanwhile, over at Boden, the Penelope Mary Jane Flats have an impressive overall star-rating of 4.2 out of five from more than 160 reviews. One chuffed shopper said: "Great pair of flats. Great spring/summer shoes with sophisticated colours with buckle detail. They're suitable for day to evening." Another penned: "Really cute and comfy. I've had several compliments (I've bought them in the tan shade and black toes) and am thinking of buying another pair in a different colour." "I love these shoes," another customer gushed. "They are really comfortable and look great. I bought two pairs in different colours and may well buy a third." However, one shopper gave the Penelope Mary Jane Flats a lukewarm review, describing them as 'beautiful but uncomfortable'. The review reads: "The green and white are beautiful, exactly what I was after. The material and sole is really stiff though and uncomfortable, I'm not sure I'll be able to wear them, which is a shame as I want to love them". Yet another customer was thrilled with their Boden purchase, adding: "Total power shoes. Comfortable and look good with dresses and trousers. A great pop of colour in an otherwise simple outfit. Fit is great." Join our Shopping & Deals WhatsApp for the best bargains and fashion news WHATSAPP: Get the best deals and exclusive discount codes straight to your phone via our WhatsApp group. Whether that be matching their curtains and cushions in the living room or choosing a bedspread to create a homely vibe in the guest bedroom. However, the best way to truly understand a homeowner's personality away from their design is to look at their nicknacks and ornaments. With everyone having their own unique tastes, ornaments are an easy way to add a touch of yourself into your home. For those who are fans of Highland cows, shoppers may want to head to Next. While the retailer has a large homeware selection, many shoppers have gushed over their 'Hamish' range. Set of 2 Natural Hamish Spa Ornaments, which is priced at just £12.
