Cult Status Streetwear Brand Kith Hosts First Fashion Show Since 2019

Forbesa day ago
At Sunday evening's fashion show from the brand Kith, the weather gods toyed with the label's effort to stage its first fashion show in six years. Entitled "Institution", the runway spectacle scheduled for 6:30 PM was held outside the brand's newly renovated Manhattan flagship store at 337 Lafayette Street in Noho. Minutes prior, an unexpected thunderstorm sped through the New York City area, causing a torrential downpour. Fortunately, it passed through almost as quickly as it appeared, clearing the skies for Ronnie Fieg's vision for Fall 2025 to parade down the astroturf runway in the street, in front of the boutique that routinely has lines outside of it.
Adding to the festive environment was a performance by rapper and longtime friend of Fieg, Gashi and Jimi Banks, after his recent album release, The Killah Whales of Gotham, who provided the soundtrack for celebs-cum-models Jordan Clarkson, Jim Jones, Dave East, Victor Cruz, and Malik Nabers, who walked in the show.
Also in attendance were Carmelo Anthony, John Leguizamo, and his son, who have starred in Kith campaigns; Fabolous, Westside Gunn, Joey Bada$$, Frances Tiafoe, Heidi Klum and her son Johan Samuel, there to cheer on Klum's other son, model Henry Samuel, and Michael Strahan and his daughters, Isabella and Sophia.
For a brand most associated with its logo Tees, the collection showed a twist on its casual roots with one of its most elevated collections to date. This was mainly due to the return of a brand sub-label &Kin, which reimagines core brand concepts in premium fabrications—think rich suedes, smooth leathers, Italian wool suiting, and Mohair sweaters. The collection blended its street-inspired ethos with tailored silhouettes for a style mélange best expressing its viewpoint. To wit, a shirt and tie styled under a football-inspired jersey and paired with a suede bomber-style jacket and pin-striped shorts, or a double-breasted brown suit worn with a green leather Kith team jacket. The effect was achieved by layering in the brand's Kith Classics and second generation of K-Tech, Kith's newly introduced lifestyle and performance collection. In true New York spirit, the show was peppered with styles branded with New York teams such as the Yankees and the Knicks, as well as the NFL.
The release also features the brand's most robust accessories offerings with its Suede Monogram Program, featuring the introduction of signature carryall bags in new sizes, crossbodies, and small leather goods such as belts and cardholders made of premium Kith Monogram debossed cowhide suede. Each style from this collection is offered in hues from the Kith Palette—Stadium, Ink, Incognito, Magma, and Black.
The news for Kith's fall footwear comes via Founder, CEO & Creative Director, Ronnie Fieg's newest iteration of the Black-Tie Superstar, and Kith's latest partnership with Birkenstock to debut the Braided Boston silhouette, featuring the duo's hand-braided execution on Birkenstock's iconic silhouette.
Also featured were select future collaborations, including partnerships with Adidas on a new Heritage Running offering, Kith's second chapter of Adidas Football, and Ronnie Fieg's latest 8th St. Wallabee Collection with Adidas Originals and Clarks Originals, and Kith's newest 101 Program with Japanese brand, Ssstein, previewing the Winter 2025 Collection. Kith Fall 2025 releases on Friday, August 22nd at Kith shops and 11 AM EST/CET on Kith.com, CA.Kith.com, EU.Kith.com & the Kith App.

Squid Game: The Experience — Visit The NYC Pop-Up Before It's Gone

If you've watched Squid Game and wondered what it might be like to attempt some of the challenges, the immersive 'Squid Game: The Experience' pop-up in New York City is a fun way to find out (without risking your life!). Featuring games inspired by Netflix's most watched title ever—along with Korean snacks and Squid Game-themed cocktails and memorabilia—the Squid Game experience offers participants the chance to relive all the excitement from the show (minus the dying part). But hurry—the last date to visit the NYC pop-up is September 1st, 2025. Here's what you need to know about 'Squid Game: The Experience' in NYC. What Is the Squid Game Experience in NYC? 'Squid Game: The Experience' is an immersive pop-up where visitors can play games from the Squid Game franchise, sip beverages and munch on Korean snacks while listening to K-pop, and browse and shop official Squid Game merchandise. Where Is the Squid Game Experience Pop-Up in New York City? The NYC pop-up is located inside the Manhattan Mall at 100 W 33rd St, New York, NY 10001. Visitors should enter at the northwest corner of 6th Avenue and 32nd Street. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder What to Expect Inside the Squid Game Experience NYC The first thing you'll probably notice once you step inside the building is a gigantic Young-hee doll standing near the entrance. This is one of the best spots to take a photo, as the rest of the exhibit is dimly lit, and flash photography isn't allowed while you're playing the games. The pop-up's main open area is the Night Market, a dark, sprawling space that mainly serves as a gift shop. Here you'll find all sorts of Squid Game goodies, from mugs and marbles to Funko toys and apparel—including the iconic green tracksuits that could double as simple and comfy Halloween costumes. Visitors can also snap photos inside one of the photo booths, order Squid Game-inspired drinks at the bar (courtesy of Johnnie Walker, the official spirits partner of the Squid Game experience), ogle at one of the many Korean-language ads and posters plastered across the walls and columns, and order Japanese ramen at a vending machine (though sadly the machine wasn't working both times I went). Just off to the right when you first enter the Night Market is Squid Mart, a small H-mart pop-up where you can buy popular Korean beverages and snacks like Orion choco pies and Nongshim shrimp crackers. Entry to the actual games is located towards the back of the Night Market. A maximum of 24 participants may enter the games at one time. Once inside the game zone, players have the chance to compete in a total of five individual and group games inspired by the Squid Game franchise—including Red Light, Green Light and Glass Stepping Stones (though fortunately you won't be falling to your death if you take the wrong step). Even if you're eliminated early on, don't worry! Gameplay is based on a points system, so every participant gets to try their hand at all the challenges. Players are ranked on a scoreboard based on how many points they've accumulated, and a winner will be declared at the end. Though the games aren't physically strenuous, they do require some hand-eye coordination, strategic thinking, memory skills and lots of luck! If you're looking for the ultimate Squid Game experience, you might want to opt for a VIP package, which grants you not only priority entry to the games (along with other perks) but also access to the VIP Lounge, where you'll receive a free drink, a golden mask and the opportunity to watch other players compete on a giant screen. FAQs About Squid Game: The Experience NYC How long does the NYC Squid Game experience take? The total duration of the games is about 60 minutes. As the star of the tournament's signature cocktail, Grey Goose plays a pretty important role in the Open. Off the grounds, the brand will have a limited-edition bar pop-up set inside Grand Central Terminal. The spot will be open from 5-8 pm and 10 pm-1 am each day, serving up complimentary tiny Honey Deuce and Espresso Martini cocktails for commuters or late-night crowds heading home from the matches.
