Why are tickets for film coming out in 2026 selling for 100x the price

Independent17-07-2025
IMAX tickets for Christopher Nolan 's forthcoming film, The Odyssey, have sold out a year ahead of its July 2026 release.
Advanced tickets, featuring stars like Matt Damon, Zendaya, and Tom Holland, were quickly resold for hundreds of pounds on platforms such as eBay after going on sale.
Premiere screenings are planned globally in select cities, including London, Melbourne, and Prague, at theatres equipped with IMAX 70mm screens.
The early ticket release is a strategic move, following the substantial IMAX box office success of Nolan's previous Oscar-winning feature, Oppenheimer.
The Odyssey, an adaptation of Homer's epic Greek poem, is currently filming and is notable for being shot entirely with new IMAX cameras.

Sky Sports presenter hits back at Chelsea fan YouTuber after ‘you have no idea who your club are' rant

SKY SPORTS presenter Olivia Buzaglo has pushed back on comments made by Chelsea fan personality Rory Jennings. Jennings went on a rant on TalkSport regarding fans who wear club shirts to matches. 3 3 Jennings suggested that an adult should not wear their club's shirt to matches, and likened the practice to 'fancy dress". Jennings later took to X to double down on his comments, implying that wearing a kit could be a sign of being a fake fan. He said: "I'm all for a scarf or a precisely placed pin-badge. "But if you're over 15 and you're wearing a club shirt it's quite often the biggest tell-[tale] sign that you actually have no idea who your club are or what they represent." Sky Sports presenter and fellow Chelsea fan Buzaglo quoted Jennings in a post of her own. She pushed back on his comments by stating her intention to don Chelsea's new kit at Stamford Bridge when the Blues host Crystal Palace for their first game of the season. "I never really wear shirts anymore but love having them and best believe for our first game of the season vs Palace, I will absolutely be wearing a World Champions 25 shirt. "Will be the first and last time I wear it but it has to be done." Konnie Huq recalls 'mortifying' wardrobe malfunction at the BAFTAs in a glitzy dress: 'My boobs exploded!'

Konnie Huq has revealed a 'mortifying' moment at the 2016 BAFTAs when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet. The presenter, 49, who shares sons shares Covie, 14, and Huxley, 11, with husband Charlie Brooker, opened up about the mishap as she appeared on Fabulous' No Parental Guidance podcast. She explained that at the time of the awards ceremony she was breastfeeding Huxley, who was five months old at the time. Konnie confessed that as a result her breasts ended up 'exploding with milk'. She recalled: 'I would leave the house before the baby had woken up. I'd wake up at five, had to express milk, leave the house before I'd even seen the baby.' 'I needed us to finish early. And if we didn't, I'd sit there with my boobs so in pain.' She continued: 'I was once at the BAFTAs in a sheer dress. I remember having to go to the toilets and then stuff loads of, like, tissue in my bra - and actually squeeze my boobs. 'Thank God, the red carpet bit is first because I could see two stains on me - not a good look'. Konnie became an on-screen favourite when she appeared as a CBBC Blue Peter presenter. She met her Black Mirror creator husband during an episode of his show, Screenwipe, in 2009 and they became engaged nine months later, in June 2010. Previously, the Blue Peter star admitted that she pressured Charlie into having marriage and babies in the early days of their relationship. Konnie said she gave the TV creator an ultimatum so that neither of them wasted their time with one another. Speaking on Sophie Ellis-Bextor's podcast Spinning Plates in 2022, Konnie said she always wanted to have children and feared Charlie didn't feel the same, so the conversation and deal breaker immediately came up. 'I always wanted to have kids... I always thought I'd have three kids and then I had two and was like, ''I'm done now,'' she began. 'But weirdly, Charlie didn't think he ever wanted kids. So when we got together, I was like, "if you're not a having kids kind of person than we're not compatible" But it turns out he was.' 'But he is really good with kids which you might not think cause of his miserable alter ego, but Charlie is a lamb in wolf's clothing.' Speaking about tying the knot so fast after meeting each other, Konnie said that at the time, her 'body clock was ticking'. 'I was in my mid-thirties and when you're in your mid-thirties with your body clock ticking, you sort of think, "I don't want to be in another relationship without it going anywhere", she said.
