Israel strike kills one in south Lebanon
Israel has repeatedly struck Lebanon despite a November ceasefire that sought to end over a year of hostilities with Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.
The Lebanese health ministry said Friday that 'an Israeli strike on a vehicle in the village of Baraachit resulted in one dead.'
The Israeli military said it had 'eliminated the personnel officer for Hezbollah's Bint Jbeil sector,' near the Israeli border.
The man 'was involved in efforts to rehabilitate the terrorist organization in the Bint Jbeil area of southern Lebanon and operated to recruit terrorists during the war,' a military statement said.
On Thursday, Israel said it had struck Hezbollah weapons depots and a rocket launcher, and 'eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist' in Lebanon's south.
Under the November truce, Hezbollah was to withdraw its fighters north of the Litani river, about 30 kilometers (20 miles) from the Israeli border, leaving Lebanon's army and United Nations peacekeepers as the only armed parties in the region.
Israel was to withdraw its troops from Lebanon but has kept them in five areas it deems strategic.

Merz calls on Netanyahu to provide aid to Gaza's ‘starving' civilians
Germany's chancellor on Sunday called on Israel's prime minister to quickly provide aid to 'starving' civilians in Gaza, in a phone call between the two leaders. Chancellor Friedrich Merz 'expressed his deep concern about the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza,' said a government statement. 'He called on Prime Minister (Benjamin) Netanyahu to do everything in his power to achieve an immediate ceasefire. He urged him to provide the starving civilian population in Gaza with urgently needed humanitarian aid now. This aid must reach the civilian population quickly, safely, and in the required quantities.' Faced with mounting international pressure, Israel on Sunday declared a 'tactical pause' in fighting in parts of Gaza and said it would allow the UN and aid agencies to open secure land routes into the war-ravaged territory. On Wednesday more than 100 aid agencies and right organizations warned that 'mass starvation' was spreading in Gaza.

Thailand and Cambodia agree to Malaysian mediation, Malaysian minister says
Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to Malaysia acting as a mediator in their border conflict, the Malaysian Foreign Minister said on Sunday, as the combatants each said the other had launched further artillery attacks across contested areas. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thai Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai are expected in Malaysia on Monday evening, Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan told state news agency Bernama. 'They have full confidence in Malaysia and asked me to be a mediator,' Mohamad said, adding he had talked with his Cambodian and Thai counterparts and they agreed no other country should be involved in the issue. The talks in Malaysia come after Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, chair of the regional ASEAN forum, had proposed a ceasefire on Friday and US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that the two leaders had agreed to work on a ceasefire. Four days after the worst fighting in more than a decade broke out between the Southeast Asian neighbors, the death toll stood above 30, including 13 civilians in Thailand and eight in Cambodia. More than 200,000 people have been evacuated from border areas in the two countries, authorities said.
