Brad Pitt burglary suspects arrested after cops link separate heist to A-lister's home break-in
The burglary of the Oscar-winning actor's home in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles occurred this past June 26, authorities told NBC LA.
Pitt, 61, was abroad in Japan on the promotional trail for his racing film F1 at the time of the heist in his Southern California home, officials said.
The trio of suspects appeared to have gone to the burglary well one too many times, leading investigators to link them to the break-in and pilfering of the Shawnee, Oklahoma-born actor's residence.
Officials told NBC LA the suspects were apprehended in the Pitt case after evidence gathered in connection with an alleged attempted break-in of a separate home implicated them in the Pitt heist.
Police had been deep into their investigation into who broke into the Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood star's home in June, NBC LA reported.
Authorities had been examining surveillance footage and comparing fingerprints taken from the location in their efforts to identify the suspects in the burglary of the Hollywood stalwart's Los Feliz home.
The probe indicated the burglars had climbed over a fence to gain access to Pitt's property, police told NBC LA.
Once in, authorities said, the burglars made off with property belonging to the actor, who played the iconic role of Tyler Durden in 1999's Fight Club.
Authorities were able to cull footage from security camera clips and other resources in their efforts to identify and arrest the burglary suspects, NBC LA reported.
Police told the TV station that the burglary crew apprehended in connection with the Pitt robbery didn't appear to be specifically targeting famous people in their crime spree.

Three teenagers arrested on suspicion of murdering a man in his 40s in a seaside town remain in custody, Kent Police have confirmed. The man, whose identity remains unknown, is thought to have died after being hit over the head with a large stone during an altercation on the Isle of Sheppey, by the north Kent coast. A shopkeeper, working at Oasis Stores across the road from the incident said he had run out to help after his wife said someone was having a heart attack. He told the PA news agency that he had heard 'when he was on the floor they had thrown the big rock at him', adding: 'It's not fair on the man, he was just here for holidays.' However there is dispute among residents as to whether the man was in fact a local. On Monday, a group of holidaymakers were heralding a local called Dean as 'the island hero' for trying to save the man's life. Andrew Owen claims someone ran past Dean shouting 'I've done him' before Dean saw the man lying on the ground and shouted back 'you haven't just done him, you've f****** killed him'. Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information should contact the Major Crime Unit via the Major Incident Public Portal.
