Bybit Unifies Loan Products to Enhance Capital Efficiency for Crypto Traders

Cision Canada09-05-2025

DUBAI, UAE, May 9, 2025 /CNW/ -- Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, is enhancing the user experience and capital efficiency of its lending products by integrating Crypto Loans (flexible loans) and Fixed Rate Loans into a single, streamlined interface.
The integration introduces a unified platform for both loan types, enabling users to compare, manage, and optimize their borrowing strategies with greater ease. All loan products are now accessible under the Crypto Loans page, with a redesigned layout that prioritizes usability and transparency.
"Our goal is to simplify how users interact with our lending products while enhancing their capital flexibility," said Emily Bao, Head of Spot at Bybit."By consolidating management tools and aligning risk models, we're giving our users more control and clarity over their borrowing activity."
Key upgrades include:
Unified Cross Margin Model: Both flexible and fixed-term loans will now operate under a shared cross-margin system, allowing users to benefit from consolidated Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios — set at 80% (initial), 85% (margin call), and 92% (liquidation).
Shared Collateral: Collateral can now be used interchangeably across both loan types, enabling more agile capital deployment.
Tiered Collateral Ratios: All supported assets will follow a tiered collateral system, reflecting each asset's risk profile — consistent with the structure previously applied to Fixed Rate Loans.
Updated Interest Calculation: Interest will be calculated hourly using a compounding method: total debt (principal + accrued interest) multiplied by the hourly interest rate.
Existing loan orders will remain unaffected, continuing under their original terms and conditions. For users seeking further information, detailed guides on both Fixed Rate Loans and Crypto Loans are available via the Bybit Help Center.
This strategic move reaffirms Bybit's commitment to innovation and user empowerment in the evolving digital asset economy.

Canadian Securities Administrators encourage Canadians to look out for deceptive social media investment scams Français

CALGARY, AB, June 13, 2025 /CNW/ - In recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) on June 15, 2025, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) is encouraging Canadians to connect with older adults in their lives to talk about the growing trend of artificial intelligence (AI) and social media investment scams targeting seniors. "Older Canadians are often the target of financial scams and, more recently, fraudsters have been using AI to make the ads appear legitimate," said Stan Magidson, Chair and CEO of the Alberta Securities Commission and Chair of the CSA. "By asking questions and starting important conversations about the warning signs of scams, we can help support the financial wellbeing of the seniors in our lives." Scams leverage AI to create seemingly credible ads and online profiles Scam artists commonly target older Canadians with fake investment opportunities online. Taking advantage of advertising channels through social media platforms, and the openness of people to new relationships fostered through dating or friendship apps, fraudsters can easily and quickly create online personas to deceive and manipulate potential victims with realistic-looking investment opportunities. The CSA urges older Canadians and their loved ones to remember the following tips: Avoid investment opportunities promoted online, especially those seemingly endorsed by celebrities or political figures or those that advertise lucrative, easy or quick returns. Imagery, video and voices can be easily generated with AI to look and sound real. Be cautious of online investing groups claiming to be run by investment professionals. Fraudsters will commonly direct potential victims to move their communications to chat groups created on WhatsApp, Telegram and Discord to keep conversations private and harder to trace. Be mindful of any new online connection, acquaintance or perceived love interest who asks probing questions about your finances or plays off your anxieties or fears when offering you an unrequested investment opportunity. All investment firms and their advisors in Canada are required to ask each of their clients to name a Trusted Contact Person (TCP). Sharing the name of someone you consider to be a trusted contact can help protect your accounts and give you peace of mind. Any individual or firm offering you investments needs to be registered with provincial or territorial securities regulators. You can check registration at but remember that images, voice calls and video meetings can be AI manipulated. It is strongly advised that you do not send money to anyone you have not met in person or whose identity you cannot confidently validate. Foster awareness and digital literacy AI continues to evolve rapidly, and so do the scams that use this technology. To safeguard your financial accounts and empower yourself and those you care for, the CSA recommends taking time to learn how AI is being used across the digital landscape for investing purposes. The CSA has a number of investor tools and resources available online to help Canadians become more informed investors. Investors can follow @CSA_News on X (formerly Twitter), @ on Facebook and subscribe to the CSA's Investor Alerts. Suspect you or someone you know is a victim of an investment scam? If you feel like you or someone you know has been approached or is a victim of fraudulent investment, contact your local securities regulator. The CSA, the council of the securities regulators of Canada's provinces and territories, co-ordinates and harmonizes regulation for the Canadian capital markets. CIRO Issues Warning about Scams Targeting Seniors, Issues Tip Sheet

TORONTO, June 13, 2025 /CNW/ - To help raise awareness of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), is issuing a warning—scams are on the rise, including scams that target seniors. CIRO enforcement data reveals that approximately 30% of all CIRO case assessment files involve seniors. According to CIRO's 2024 Investor Survey, approximately one in five Canadians have been approached with a possible investment fraud. Most of those Canadians were approached through unsolicited, spam emails, texts or calls from strangers, or messages on social media. To avoid being fooled by fraud and scams targeting seniors, CIRO's Office of the Investor offers the following tips: When receiving text messages, emails, or direct messages on social platforms from unknown contacts, STOP and THINK before you CLICK! Keep your financial and personal information in a safe place and protect the information, keeping it private; Get legal advice before signing documents that involve major decisions involving your home or other assets; Be cautious about opening a joint bank account as the other person / people can withdraw funds without asking; Keep records of any money you give away- noting whether it is a loan or a gift; Have a Power of Attorney. Choose someone you trust to look after you, so that if you are ill or unable to look after yourself, your finances will be protected from others who may try to take advantage; Name a Trusted Contact Person with your financial advisor. In specific circumstances, this allows your advisor to contact the individual about concerns related to your mental capacity and financial well-being. CIRO's Office of the Investor works to build financial literacy and help Canadians avoid scams and fraud. "People often report feeling shame following a scam, but it is important to communicate quickly with your financial services provider if you believe you have been a victim," said Alex Williams, Senior Vice-President, Strategy, Innovation and Stakeholder Protection at CIRO. "Victims are often retargeted in what is called a recovery scam—whereby perpetrators claim to assist the victim, only to defraud them again. Getting ahead of scams by communicating with the right agents quickly if you suspect you've been scammed can make all the difference in protecting your assets."
