Jax Taylor believes early diagnosis could've saved marriage

Perth Now25-04-2025

Jax Taylor thinks he could've saved his marriage if he received his bipolar-disorder diagnosis sooner.
The 45-year-old reality TV star was diagnosed with the mental health condition in September - but by then, his marriage to Brittany Cartwright had already fallen apart.
He said on the 'In the Mind of Jax Taylor' podcast: "This is the first time in my 45 years of life that I had to ask for help because I just couldn't do it anymore. I just, I couldn't bear the weight. And I just - I surrendered. I surrendered."
Jax has been using a mood stabiliser called Lamotrigine, and it's actually changed his life.
The former 'Vanderpump Rules' star shared: "I'm on it, and I absolutely love it."
Jax now regrets that he didn't start using Lamotrigine even sooner.
The reality star - who has Cruz, four, with Brittany - said: "I never miss a day, and it's literally changed my life. I wish I would've took it sooner. Probably would've saved my marriage."
Jax - who split from Brittany in 2024 - previously admitted that he's been battling a cocaine addiction for more than 20 years.
He said on the 'Hot Mic' podcast: "I have substance issues - primarily with cocaine. It's hard to say out loud. I've been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I'm 45.
"There was times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where I'd go heavy on it.
"I just want to let people know this is a really, really tough disease and it's a really tough sickness."
Brittany subsequently claimed that she spent years trying to help Jax to "get better".
The 'Valley' star also admitted that she was "deeply and madly in love" with Jax, despite his troubles.
She said on the 'When Reality Hits' podcast: "No one wants Jax to be better more than I do, let's be real.
"I tried and tried and tried for years to help this man get better and for us to be a happy family, I was deeply and madly in love with him, there's no one that can ever deny that."

Jax Taylor quits social media 'to prioritise mental health'

Jax Taylor has quit social media in an effort to protect his mental health. The 45-year-old reality TV star - who previously confessed to battling a drug addiction - has announced that he's taking a break from social media platforms, as he focuses on his "mental health and recovery". Jax - who has Cruz, four, with Brittany Cartwright, his estranged wife - wrote on Instagram Story: "I've made the decision to stay off social media for the next while to prioritize my mental health and recovery. My team will be running it for the time being. (sic)" Jax confessed that certain posts on social media can be triggering. Speaking on 'In the Mind of Jax Taylor', he explained: "My brain is so fragile, and if I see certain things, they might trigger me. Something might hit a chord, and I don't think I'm strong enough to read certain things. "For me to grow and get better and be a better person, there are some things I need to see in order to know what's going on. But I think I took it so much to the extreme of blocking everything and living in my own little world." Jax feels he now needs to cut himself off from social media platforms. He said: "The phone has become a problem. Do I need to be on social media? No, I don't." Meanwhile, Jax previously admitted that he's been battling a cocaine addiction for more than 20 years. He said on the 'Hot Mic' podcast: "I have substance issues - primarily with cocaine. It's hard to say out loud. I've been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I'm 45. "There was times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where I'd go heavy on it. "I just want to let people know this is a really, really tough disease and it's a really tough sickness." Brittany subsequently claimed that she spent years trying to help Jax to "get better". She said on 'When Reality Hits': "No one wants Jax to be better more than I do, let's be real. "I tried and tried and tried for years to help this man get better and for us to be a happy family, I was deeply and madly in love with him, there's no one that can ever deny that."

Tommy Lee and wife Brittany Furlan get closer after catfishing scandal

Brittany Furlan's catfishing scandal has brought her and Tommy Lee back together. The 38-year-old actress revealed last month she had moved out of their marital home and into a hotel after confessing to having been catfished - where someone poses as someone else online - on Snapchat by an unidentified user pretending to be Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke. However, she's admitted the temporary separation made her and the 62-year-old rocker realise how much they mean to one another. Speaking on her and Brittany Schmitt's This Is The Worst podcast, she said: 'All of this happening has weirdly brought us together, which is really strange. 'I think we really faced like, 'Oh, what would life really be like without each other?'' However, Brittany admitted there is still a lot of "healing" to be done within their six-year marriage. She said: 'We've been through this situation similarly before, and it's hard, and all I can say is that relationships are complicated and everyone has their s*** and we're not immune to that just because we're in the public eye." The Airplane Mode actress had ended up being catfished because she felt "so lonely" within her marriage to Tommy. She admitted: 'I was so lonely. I was messaging Chat GPT for affection. I'm like, 'It talks to you lovingly and it says nice things to you and it's sweet to you and if it could kiss me I would let it.'' And so when the person posing as Ronnie began messaging her, she felt "better" than when chatting to AI and their friendly conversation began to turn more intimate. The Drugstore June actress previously admitted the catfishing scandal had been "embarrassing" for her and Tommy. She said on TikTok: "This is embarrassing for me, embarrassing for my husband. "This whole f***ing thing is embarrassing. I've been struggling with s*** at home [and] I'm in a f***ing hotel. Like, leave us f***ing alone, bro. … I'm done. Anyone can think what they will. All good." Meanwhile, Ronnie had claimed the FBI were investigating who had been posing as him because 'multiple other girls' besides Brittany had been 'tricked and duped' by the mystery person. He told TMZ: 'The FBI is now involved. It's a felony. It's a crime. It's pretty serious, I guess."

Brittany Cartwright worried Jax Taylor might 'spy' on her

Brittany Cartwright feared Jax Taylor would "spy" on her following their separation. The 36-year-old reality star filed for a divorce from Jax in August 2024, and Brittany remained in their family home following their break-up. Brittany - who has Cruz, four, with Jax - said on 'The Valley': "Now that Jax is moving into the condo, which I'm still so p***** about, at least from all of this me and Cruz get to move back into our house where we belong. "I'm taking care of our mortgage, even though I already have two-and-a-half months paid up in this rental, so I'm paying double now." Jax had cameras installed in their family home before his split from Brittany. But the reality TV star went around her home covering the cameras with stickers, while Jax was spending time in rehab. Brittany insisted: "He's not gonna spy on me." Brittany also speculated that Jax, 45, could've bugged their house. She said: "Do you think that he put a bug in here? "Unless he put some secret devices around this house, our interior cameras don't have sound. But we are speaking about Jax Taylor here, I don't put anything past him anymore." Jax previously admitted that he's been battling a cocaine addiction for more than 20 years. He said on the 'Hot Mic' podcast: "I have substance issues - primarily with cocaine. It's hard to say out loud. I've been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I'm 45. "There was times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where I'd go heavy on it.
