Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown adopts ‘sweet baby girl'
The Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, have announced they have become parents after adopting a 'sweet baby girl'. Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, said in a statement on social media that they were 'beyond excited' to enter the next chapter of their lives. Alongside a sketch of a tree, the couple wrote on Instagram on Thursday: 'This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.' The post, which was accompanied by the Beatles song Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, continued: 'And then there were 3.' Brown, best known for her role as Eleven in the Netflix drama Stranger Things, and Bongiovi, a model who is the son of the musician Jon Bon Jovi, married last October after their engagement in 2023. Alongside photos from their wedding last year, Bongiovi wrote in a post at the time: 'Forever and always, your husband.' Brown has previously spoken about wanting to become a parent, adding that she wanted a large family with her husband. She mentioned the possibility of adopting. Speaking in March on the SmartLess podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, the actor said: 'Jake knows how important it is to me [to have a child].' Brown, who recently appeared alongside Chris Pratt in sci-fi film The Electric State, added: 'Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it's so important to start a family, for me, personally.' In 2023, the publication of Brown's debut novel reignited a debate over ghostwritten celebrity books. Nineteen Steps, inspired by her grandmother's experience of the 1943 Bethnal Green tube disaster, was ghostwritten by author Kathleen McGurl yet the cover of the book featured only Brown's name. In response to a subsequently deleted tweet by Waterstones promoting the book, many X users had criticised the star. Brown had posted an image on Instagram of herself holding the book standing next to McGurl, with the caption: 'I couldn't have done this without you!' Zoella (the media personality Zoë Sugg), Katie Price and Naomi Campbell are among celebrities who have also used ghostwriters for their fiction books.

Inside Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi's marriage as they announce adoption
Millie Bobby Brown shocked fans with the announcement that she and husband Jake Bongiovi have adopted a baby girl. The Stranger Things star, 21, shared the news in a joint post on social media with her husband Jake, 23. 'This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,' she began. 'We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.' She concluded: 'And then there were 3. Love Millie and Jake Bongiovi.' Millie and Jake – the son of rocker Jon Bon Jovi – tied the knot last May, a year after their engagement. Now, as they start their family, here's everything we know about the young couple's whirlwind relationship. The pair first sparked romance rumors in June 2021 when Bongiovi posted a photo of the two on Instagram, writing, 'bff <3.' They were spotted walking around New York City hand-in-hand later that month before making things Instagram official in November with a blurry photo taken on the London Eye. After that, they were pretty inseparable and Jake has even joined Millie at several high-profile red carpet events, including the Baftas, Stranger Things season 4 launch party, and the premiere of Enola Holmes 2 in October. During a November 2022 interview with WIRED, the actress shared how she met her man. 'We met on Instagram,' she said. 'And we were friends for a bit, and then, what can I say?' The pair got engaged in April 2023 with Millie announcing the news by posting a photo on Instagram captioned with lyrics from Taylor Swift's Lover, writing, 'I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all 🤍.' In August 2023, Brown shared the details of the proposal with The Sunday Times, including that he proposed with one of her mother's rings: 'I've always loved that ring, it's always stuck out to me, so she gave it to Jake. They were in cahoots about the whole proposal,' she said. 'I love that I can always keep a piece of my mum with me.' The pair then privately tied the knot in 2024 at a ceremony that was reportedly a small affair with only friends and family in attendance. 'Millie and Jake quietly said their vows in America last weekend,' a source close to the couple told The Sun. 'They are planning a bigger ceremony in the US later this year but now they have legally married and done all the paperwork.' After the pair's marriage was rumoured, Jon Bon Jovi was asked about the suspected nuptials and how the happy couple is doing. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video He said: 'They're great, they're absolutely fantastic. 'It was a very small family wedding and the bride looked gorgeous, and Jake is happy as can be. Yeah, it's true.' When the engagement was first announced, Millie shared with WWD: 'I think probably drawing the curtains, just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once. 'And to have everyone's opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me. So I feel it's important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest.' Millie has been very open about her desire to be a mother in the past. More Trending During a March 2025 appearance on the Smartless podcast, Millie shared that although she is 'really young,' starting a family is 'definitely in [her] future.' 'My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. And you know, it's been my thing since before I met Jake,' she said. 'Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.' She added, 'Jake knows how important it is to me and, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it's so important to start a family for me, personally.' Dianne Buswell addresses Strictly Come Dancing future amid uncertainty
Dianne Buswell has addressed her future on Strictly Come Dancing amid uncertainly over her partner in the next series Dianne Buswell has addressed her future on Strictly Come Dancing. The TV star, 36, has appeared as a professional dancer on the BBC Saturday night favourite since 2017 but made it clear that she has no idea what the future holds for her. On Thursday night, she took to Instagram to hold a Q&A session with her followers whilst she was on a train and one asked: "Do you think this will be your last year on Strictly?" Over of a photo of herself dressed up backstage in an elaborate costume, she replied: "I sure hope not!!!!" Another fan was quick to ask Dianne, who will be appearing on the upcoming edition of Strictly Come Dancing when it returns to screens on September 20, who her celebrity partner will be this year. Famous faces to have signed up to hit the dance floor this time around include the likes of Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis, footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and ruby player Chris Robshaw. But, alas, Dianne, who has danced with the likes of Tyler West, EastEnders star Bobby Brazier and last year's winner Chris McCausland, is yet to be told which celebrity she will be helping out with their footwork, as she confirmed: "No idea, who do you reckon?" It comes after the show was thrown into chaos when former Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn gave up his place in the ballroom before the programme had even gone to air. Soap actor Lewis Cope was announced as his replacement. Speaking about joining the show, Lewis - who has starred on Emmerdale as Nicky Miligan - said: "I'm so excited to be swapping the Dales for the dance floor and joining this year's Strictly Come Dancing. I've always been a fan of the show and cannot wait to get started!" Lewis only found out on Monday that he was joining the show. Lewis will be known to soap fans as Emmerdale's Nicky - the son of Caleb and Ruby Miligan. He is no longer in the village but his sister and parents still are. Lewis has also had roles in Vera and he worked with David Beckham on an advertising campaign. Lewis will be known to soap fans as Emmerdale's Nicky - the son of Caleb and Ruby Miligan. He is no longer in the village but his sister and parents still are. Lewis has also had roles in Vera and he worked with David Beckham on an advertising campaign. Just hours earlier, actor and DJ Kristian revealed that he has stepped back for "medical reasons". He said in a statement: 'With a heavy heart, I have to step back from this series of Strictly Come Dancing due to unexpected medical reasons. I was truly looking forward to the journey, and I'm deeply sorry to disappoint anyone who was looking forward to seeing me on the dance floor. Thank you all for your support, and I will be back on my feet very soon, in every sense. Love to all, Kristian." Kristian later released a longer statement, reassuring fans that he's "under treatment already". He said: "I've been given the amazing opportunity of Strictly but sadly I'm having to withdraw. Like so many people at the minute, I have dealing with a high level of stress. And a little bit of grief, if I'm going to be really real. I've always been my mother's son and I have always powered through things like this in the past and any other time of my life actually. "Honestly I think I've got a pretty healthy attitude towards stuff like this. I thought I did at least. For the first time it's manifested physically. And it's caused a spike in my vitals. It's entered an area of concern. I'm a big guy. Always have been, ever since I stepped foot on this earth. "So I take my health very seriously and I do see my doctor all the time. I was checked for the show two weeks before. And everything was fine. So he was happy for me to take part. Please note, I'm ok. I'm under treatment already. And my doctor isn't concerned." He added: "And after 2-3 weeks I'll be pretty much back to normal. But sadly I don't have time for the show now, for all the training and everything like that. And I also don't want to leave them, you and the other contestants hanging. It's not really fair. I'm gutted to say the least.
