Previously in conversation with Entertainment Weekly, James Gunn addressed the headlines of Superman 2 in the making. The DC boss revealed that while the upcoming project cannot be called Superman 2, it surely is a sequel.
Gunn explained, 'What I'm working on is in some way… I mean, yes, yes, yes, yes. But is it a straight-up Superman sequel? I would not say necessarily.' The movie is still in the early stages of development, and hence, details about the plot and cast members are kept under wraps.
Superman hits it out of the park
As for Gunn's directed Superman, the movie performed well at the box office. The film, as reported on July 31, would surpass the 300 million mark. The film starred David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan in the lead roles of Superman and Lois Lane, respectively.
As for the plot, the official synopsis of the movie reads, 'When Superman gets drawn into conflicts at home and abroad, his actions are questioned, giving tech billionaire Lex Luthor the opportunity to get the Man of Steel out of the way for good. Will intrepid reporter Lois Lane and Superman's four-legged companion, Krypto, be able to help him before it's too late?'

In the comics, Doom, ever fixated on perfection, refuses to remove his mask so the embellishments on his face are not seen. The theories about Doom and Iron Man being linked have been doing the rounds on Reddit for some time, with one person even comparing the font on the actor's chair during shoot, and saying it was the same as the font used during Iron Man's filming! Far-fetched theories aside, in the comics, there is actually one time when Doctor Doom becomes Iron Man. This is Infamous Iron Man, but one X user has debunked this possibility as well, noting that the events in that comic takes place after the 2015 Secret Wars comic. At the end of Doomsday, his face will revert back to reality and the real Doom's face will be revealed. Robert Downey Jr. will return as an Iron Man variant in Secret Wars to help fight Doctor Doom who stole his identity and tricked everyone". The fan echoed the Reddit post in one theory, that the color of Avengers: Secret War title was changed to Iron Man's palette to tease his return. Disney's The Fantastic Four: First Steps retained the top spot at the UK-Ireland box office in its second weekend, pulling in an additional £3.1 million.
